Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
A slight bonus to Grinning's task is we might get a stealth advancement, since it IS stuck at C rank right now. Might make it more compelling than Dreaming's task, though I'm still putting that first.

The chapter is pretty similar to what I expected. Like I said, I didn't expect a romance unlock, but it does seem like Ling Qi is starting to deal with the source of her romance/intimacy issues.

I think the Grinning Moon option would be the most interesting from both my and Ling Qi's perspective. I'm not sure how I feel about picking two Grinning Moon options in a row though.

Ah, so glad that Brothel won, there's so much more of value here to be found than in the empty freedom of the streets. Qi returns to the place that haunted her so much as a child, to see it stripped of all gravitas. And what she finds is actually rather mundane and not as utterly devoid of justice as she remembers. For the most part, the prostitution is just another unpleasant job that pays the bills.

As for the vote, I definitely prefer to lean into the Grinning/Dreaming aspects more than Hidden. Want to further our Bardic Rogue build, I don't really care as much about the spymaster parts.

"Well now you've gone and taken the fun out of it," The Grinning Moon said, crossing her arms. "Fine, we can be direct too. In my choice, we'll be going to a place where the dullards at the top of this heap would much rather we not go."

"In mine, we will see to the spread of art too long forgotten and suppressed," said the Dreaming Moon, her smile catlike and predatory.

"And in mine, we will see that a certain secret makes its way to the appropriate ears," The Hidden Moon said somberly, speaking once again through Xin.

Entering a place we shouldn't be in; spreading an art too long forgotten and suppressed; secrets placed in the appropriate ears.

Right now I'm personally leaning towards either the grinning or hidden moons. Ling Qi is, all in all, a pretty selfish person and I'm not entirely sure if she would want to spread art for the sake of spreading art. I will note, that I'm seeing a little bit of overlap between the moons in each of these options, however.

All in all, I am leaning towards Grinning, Learning something new would certainly pique Ling Qi's interest, but I'm not sure if she would care to spread it to the appropriate ears. Spreading a forgotten art would let Ling Qi learn a new and forgotten art form, but again I'm not entirely sure whether Ling Qi would want to spread it to other people. She is... pretty apathetic to benefiting others that she doesn't know at the moment.

So sneaking into a place to find out something the local rulers wouldn't like someone to learn about? Perhaps they're secretly making sacrifices, and/or worshiping deities that are forbidden?

Since this is Ling Qi building the foundation of her path it will make her a more sneak into a place someone is trying to keep her out type of cultivator.
"In mine, we will see to the spread of art too long forgotten and suppressed," said the Dreaming Moon, her smile catlike and predatory.
Ling Qi is now Catwoman stealing art that deserves to be spread? Inspiring a new generation of artists to try to surpass the dream, and in doing so make something truly unique?

For her foundation this has Ling Qi trying to spread ideas, and inspire others to take action. This might also tie into the fact that Ling Qi actually enjoys teasing her juniors, and treasures sincerity.
"And in mine, we will see that a certain secret makes its way to the appropriate ears," The Hidden Moon said somberly, speaking once again through Xin.
I'm uncertain what this involves, but perhaps it has something to do with the Weilu?

For her path this makes Ling Qi mysterious, and someone inclined to make a difference by whispering something into the ear of the right person.

Ling Qi glanced between them. She sensed a certain crossover in portfolios for these things. Also they were still being annoyingly vague.
These all sound really fun.

Uh guys keep in mind that this isnt just character building.

We're also laying down the Foundations for Ling Qis custom Moon Cultivation from here on out.

If being a bard is gonna continue to be such a huge part of Ling Qi as a person, then this choice ought to reflect that.

Except that Ling Qi also enjoys pranks (and teasing her juniors now) and Dreaming is obviously going to fuck with the stuck up rulers who suppressed the art originally (perhaps it was too lewd or too subversive for the "common masses" to be allowed to experience) even if they're just spinning in their graves.

Plus doing Grinning twice in a row is kinda meh

EDIT: And this is ultimately about building our own new Cultivation Art

[] Take the Dreaming Moon's suggestion

I really, really, really want this one. Art forgotten and suppressed? So Xianxia/Wuxia it hurts.

It feels like it's three levels of mischief. Being where we're not supposed to be would be superficial, nothing happens just by sneaking. Bringing forbidden art brings expression where those who would oppress would rather not. And a secret revealed is a deliberate act against our enemies. Hard power of for political change, soft power of societal improvement or personal power for personal enjoyment.

Yeah, dreaming moon choice seems the best to me by far.

First, it's the choice where Hanyi and Sixiang can participate in the most. Second, it's also the choice where Ling Qi is probably the best in right now. Third, learning of long forgotten and suppressed art interests me a lot.

Above all, though, I think this fits the cultivation art/way I want Ling Qi to follow to a tee.

EDIT: As people said though, all options seems to have a bit of the three moon.

Okay! It's time for me to throw an arguement or two towards Dreaming.
Here's what I've got: We're a new clan's head right?
The Hidden Moon sounds like turning into Elder Jian on the level that we learn how to Minstry of Secrets or w/e- we turn into government spook.
Nice, but uhh, that's very VERY much a loner's job. Not much support for the home and family and friends, or limits that.
Grinning Moon is nice, though I feel like it's the kind of Way that if we build too much on we WILL be in heavy need of support- if too many powers that be figure out we're Super Sneaky, they might decide the best answer is to silence us early...
Dreaming Moon on the other hand...Isn't just about GETTING secrets but also about propagation- it'll help us say, figure out ways to translate the component pieces of our Way into distinct Arts for relatives/close friends to learn. It's thinking about the long-term more then the other two, where Grinning is just about getting in, or Hidden about passing the buck, this puts us in a position to decide what to do better then the other two, the way I see it.

This was everything I wanted with this choice. Ling Qi gets to overcome some of her original trauma and affirms the choices that she had made with her household.

it was already said that no matter what we choose, we get all 3 moons. So, for me the character building part is actually the most important part

"we get all three moons" does not equal "they're all equally represented"

the choices we make influences which parts take prominence even if there are bits of the other moons mixed in.

...Sorry Dreaming, but the Arc dedicated to revoking the suppression on glorious porn already happened. You may need to go lurk in the back of Xuan Shi's head for that sort of thing, now.
Still suppressed :(

I am pretty sure that it's about deciding which is primary/secondary, though. Or rather, how the moons are expressed in our cultivation art.
