[X] They would be having tea in a private coach on the way back to White Cloud Town.

I'm down. Reverse harem protagonist is a go!

We've got (Bao) the rich one, (Ming) the smart one, (Sixaing) the flighty dreamy one, (Bai) the buff bad boy, and (moon senpai) the senior crush.

I'm very doubtful of Ling Qi being down for that, and pretty much positive that most of the men involved wouldn't be. A three-way relationship with an official husband and Sixiang is maybe possible, but no larger a relationship than that.

This is true, but it's going to be a hot minute before we set up an official engagement with anyone, so we can enjoy the otome heroine memes for now.

So who is the original Otome protagonist? LQ is definitely the Villainess with the kit she has and the vibe she gave off early on. Whose targets are we stealing away?

I mean, the main marks of the villainess trope are that she's princess-adjacent (duke's daughter, usually), often has dark or scary magic in magical settings, and is harsh and therefore often misunderstood but has a softer side, and she has a big climactic scene where she gets denounced for her (usually false-flagged) misdeeds. As the protagonist, she usually has a love interest who is either notably higher-status OR lower-status than her original fiance who sweeps them off their feet after the big climactic denouncement scene.

So actually the villainess is Sun Liling and the heroine is Cai Renxiang and the big denouncement scene happened back in Forge. Ling Qi's just a minor flunky, sorry.
