Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

There were a few places he frequented regularly. A teahouse in the city center he was a regular at, a city brothel on the south side, much to her disgust, a garden in the north, and a gambling hall on the east side and of course his home. He had a wife, but they were rarely seen together, and had no children. She'd gone to visit family a few months ago. The Ministry of Law thought the family was considering how to annul the marriage, now that the Yan family had lost its rank.

Although, thinking about it, his house was in the western district. She'd not seen him doing anything untoward as he cycled around those locations over the last couple days, but she couldn't help the niggling feeling that she was missing something.
Center teahouse. South brothel. North garden. East gambling hall. West home. Ling Qi didn't notice this huh. Edit: or didn't place much importance on the locations.

Many times over the course of the observation, she had seen the man having coughing fits and drinking a great deal of water.
Observing so closely, she actually felt a bit of worry for the man. He was… leaking.

Little droplets of qi, drip drip dripping into the dirt, dissolving into the air. Hot, sickly, feverish. Was he dying?
Maybe there is more to this. Could be connected to the cardinal directions, carving some kind of pattern. Leaving a trail to connect each location? Creating a net to catch a songbird?

The art of dispersal, of scattering, rendering oneself into no more than dust on the wind, the shadow of leaves on the forest floor. Hidden from sight and spirit, less than even a ghost, you cannot be tracked by those beneath your realm. Among Realm peers, only those who have woven hunting and seeking into their Way may have a chance to find you when you do not wish to be found.

We are very, very sneaky.

This is actually a problem as it means that Yrs can't let us sneak in combat as then the majority of opponents would be helpless against us

How does this relate to the faked message time-wise?

Maybe he actually loves his wife and sent her out of the blast radius.

It seems more likely that the marriage was arranged because Renshu had achieved rank, which would have become hereditary if he'd reached the fourth realm(I think?), so with Renshu dead they want a divorce to at least salvage their daughter back.

I agree. We should probably be a tad more ruthless in the future.
I disagree. We don't need to be more ruthless, but rather be a better judge of character so that we van determine when to give mercy and when not to. Like leaving Fan Yu and Chu Song and forgetting about them, and offing Renshu because, as Zhengui has noted, he had a hole in his heart and will never be satisfied with what he has.

Sounds like our newest training option just got even more topical!

I'm pretty sure it's still hereditary at the 3rd rank, it's just a lot harder to survive to pass on the title and prosper if you don't break through to Cyan.

Oh. Oh shit. I don't think he's sick. I think he's got a shishigui implant.
Also, it would be fun if we find out via this that puppetboy faked his death and turned traitor

Oh... oh no... what little we know of Ith cultivation it mainly revolves around sacrifice. Sacrificing longevity, sacrificing body parts, etc. What about sacrificing a meridian? Painful and damaging but allows you to release your qi into the world to make a construct of sorts? Of a net or trap? And then you lay the bait. Something simple and not to damaging, say a letter altered to harm your prey? They'll notice it though but that's the point, you want them to come to a certain place, a place that you've been subtly preparing for months.

Gosh dang it, Yan Renshu is alive and even more slimy, underhanded and intelligent then before.

Seeing as if he is the culprit this is very likely to backfire in his face, expose him being alive to the world as well as inform the sect that they may have spies among the disciples destroying the lith network and getting people hunting for him over a petty grudge I wouldn't exactly say he's more intelligent. :V
