Ha! Totally called it for the Weilu Reactonaries falling to -4. As a reminder, this is the definition of a -4 organization reputation
-4: Greatly Disliked- The organization will oppose you whenever doing so is both possible and matches with their other goals
So this means that fun times are coming with the Meng. Lobbying against us for sure, publicly condemning our efforts as heresy, accusing us of conspiring with barbarians to betray the Empire, soft sabotage when possible, likely interfering with Hanyi's concerts.
That's what we can expect. I doubt we will be targets of blatant sabotage or terrorist acts, lest alone assaination. Too many eyes on us and we are too close to Cai Renxiang. The Reactonaries wouldn't want to be purged next.
But, wow, are we a polarizing figure or what? Besides the Reactonaries's dive, we have lost rep everywhere with heavy Imperial Conservative presence, which sadly includes the Bao.
And the Weilu Moderate didn't increase as much as I was expecting. The increase of the Reformers to "active help" level is just sensible. We are they best bet for success, and our failure would greatly harm their standing and credibility. Too bad it isn't +4 to counter the Reactonaries.
So the Luo's Weilu Moderates truly like us more than the Wang's. I guess that including a representative observer in the summit really made an effect. That uncle from the tournament has to be an important figure.
Still, Wang Chao really supports us, and his sister as well. The whole clan is explicitly Weilu/Imperial fusion, and our play supported their efforts to incorporate Cloud Nomads as citizens.
It's a bit weird their Weilu Moderates didn't go up as well. I guess they have too many Imperial Moderates, and a bit Conservative, so they can't support us more yet?
"Detective, did this man have a relative at the Argent Peak Sect?" She asked.
He paused. "Yes, he did, though I understand that the disciple Yan Renshu passed away this last year. That was a narrowing factor in the investigation. Although the Sect is not the most transparent institution…"
Are we really still dealing with the fallout of Yan Renshu? That worm still causes problems even from the grave. Next thing we know, we'll discover he isn't actually dead.
We are going to run into him while exploring the underground, in the "land of worms". He will be a kind of Shishigui hybrid and will gloat about how he is properly respected and appreciated now.
He will also have a mask covering half his face and play a pipe organ. Just to prove that he is also a better musician than Ling Qi.
"That's the one, smaller city, on the same old trade route Tonghou is, but further south," Ling Qi replied. "Who was the ruling viscount?"
Rigth. I'm still convinced that the culprit is the viscount house ruling Tonghou. The one that forced mom to become a prostitute and still hounded her up until we took her and Biyu to the Sect, 15 years later.
About the vote, I think we should follow the advice of the expert.
Though I wonder what happens if the guy escapes or erases all evidence. Do we just go back home and move on?
[ ] Accept Pan Xi's proposal, and observe Yan Shenyi's movements and actions over the next few days before moving to make the arrest. (60% success, may grant better intelligence opportunities.)
