Ah, we could continue to support the Wang Chao, Xuan Shi partnership
but a little hardship is good for the soul Wang Chao
I think the glimpse we just got of Xuan Shi is exactly the sort of insight Ling Qi should get into Xuan Shi's character. Ling Qi has always appreciated Xuan Shi but I think she's never really connected like she has with some of her other friends. That happened with Han Jian as well, but to a greater degree. Unlike Han Jian though, this moment feels like a tangible moment of connection. I'll be glad to have Ling Qi understand Xuan Shi more, especially the ways in which he cultivates Isolation.
I think there's potentially great synergy in our two flavors of Isolation.
Our flavor of Isolation gains strength as the battlefield becomes more desolate. We sweep the Reds and supporting elements off the board if they're unguarded, and use their Qi to increase the amount of time we can confound and frustrate the more powerful elements of a force. Our single target focus increases in deadliness the fewer pieces on the board there are, because with all our spirits? We'll almost always have more friends than them, at the end.
If Xuan Shi's flavor is powerful in isolating targets while the field is still plentiful, well. That could cut off powerful cultivators from the Reds or Yellows they'd otherwise be guarding.
What a nightmare huh? One moment, you've an entire raiding party at your back, thundering down from the skies. Then you suddenly feel disconnected, alone against a mighty scion of Xuan. And worst of all, as you attempt to break the Xuan with your own power, the field shifts. The field of Plenty full of allies is swept to absolute Desolation as a grinning wraith of ice sings a song that steals the light of your subordinates and funnels it back to the Xuan, as well as a massive Xuan Wu tortoise that erupted from the soil just now screaming "Surprise Zhengui!"

I will also add that Sixiang and Kongyou are both Dream spirits, which is interesting. I'd love to understand how they embody different sides of the same coin, and I suspect Xuan Shi may know more about that than we do at this time.
