I can see why wind and wave spirits react well to music - they are fundamentally rhythms themselves. A gust of wind or a surge of wave are the same as very large musical notes.
Something to experiment with Zhengui I suppose.

You know, I was wondering at the differences in chance but its basically:
1) Talk about safe and neutral topics. Exchanging master-lineage is fairly standard issue bonding, but it can't really go wrong...well other than to potentially expose Qi's lack of knowledge in that respect.
2) Talk about passionate topics. The sea and skies are clearly objects of passion for his music, and the way this is expressed rubs against a potentially sensitive spot - Qi's flippant attitude towards lyrical music over pure instrumental music did provoke a reaction.

Am going for a homerun with both the bond 1 with Xia and +1 to Expression (One of LQ's rank 3 Concepts that cannot be advanced via cultivation projects). Since Expression cannot be developed normally and because this is the first time in-Quest that the Concept can be pondered by LQ, I'd say go for it.

I think the disappearance will involve a lot of poison and probably a Xiao hit squad.
A Prism subordinate is a very valuable asset, a White "subordinate" is massive trouble in the making.
I don't think the Bai will let something like Sun Shao happen again if they have anything to say about it.

Look, I'm saying this with all the love in my heart, but I think that sticking a mechanics element to one option and not the other has caused the narrative/characterisation aspect of the two choices to maybe be a bit overshadowed?
...And sticking a mechanics element to both would cause the narrative to also be overshadowed.
The obvious solution here is to just live both of the divergent timelines simultaneously, but for those who are more... limited in that regard (and no shade on those that are, it's for you that I'm even posting this!), maybe they might benefit from not having this entanglement?
