My concern is that we dont unlock any way of improving expression any time soon and it just sits at 1/5 for ages which doesn't help with anything

In my view advancing any concepts to Rank IV and beyond will always be long term actions. If we want to keep pushing Expression (Music, Art) as a core concept of LQ, options like these are our only path.

If we refuse to take risks to gain that first xp because earning the rest might take ages, we are never going to get past rank 4.

This is not just a decision made by us but by Ling Qi as well. I feel like she would take the chance to developing her music if she could. Making a friend and getting to know each other is nice but even better is doing so while getting inspiration, expanding her understanding of the world while sharing her own, and growing more stronger in the act.
