Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
I like the month system! So far each completed month in Threads has taken 63.44 real time days to complete on average. I believe we'll be below 18 at turn 12. That means, assuming we make it up to white, that's around another 982 years we could be kicking around. Assuming we maintain our current rate that's 747,629.33 days or ~2046 years more content to enjoy!
We entered the sect at 14, turn 12 end is two years later-age 16

Judging by our current progress rate, I estimate that we will reach peak between turns 24 and 30, even before if we really put max effort into it. I am pretty sure we can get to that

Ling Qi shared a look with Sixiang before looking back to Zhengui. "Zhengui, we planned this out ages ago, I don't have anything else I need to be doing right now. Well, observing Sixiang's speaking was technically part of cultivating Playful Muse's Rapport, but that was just being efficient.
There's a quote in there that needs to be closed.

We've always had the 'Ling Qi doesn't interact with Zhengui's fire aspect' problem, so maybe taking fire in this option will be a good way to tackle that.

[X] First Sun of Spring (Fire and Ice)
[X] Valley in the Shadow (Wood and Darkness)

One of these 2, sounds like both elements are combined and not in oposition like in the other one

Hmmm...

Looking at the elemental spreads involved here... The feeling I get here on the 'Reward' is that we're going to get an upgraded version of FSS+ out of what we do here. This feels like a 'Light' version of the kinds of things people do to be inspired for new Arts, and it follows that Successor Arts can work the same way.

So, with that in mind, my feeling on the matter is that...

[] Life Endures the Winter (Wood and Ice)
--Emphasis on the defensive elements of FSS, changes the elemental spread to Wood + Cold. Likely based on Echoes of Absolute Winter and how it has that "Reduce damage from attacks launched into my doom field".

[] Valley in the Shadow (Wood and Darkness)
--A bit trickier here, removes the Cold element, but adds Wood in its place. I'm thinking this version manifests as empathizing the energy drain elements of FSS, improving those up to main focus level where they're originally a secondary focus. Potentially includes elements of distributing captured energy to allies?

[] First Sun of Spring (Fire and Ice)
--This one seems easiest to wrap my head around, it's empathizing the damage aspects of FSS, likely including thermal shock elements and the whole "Rapidly thawing trees that had frozen sap explode" thing. Even putting aside the thematics that I like, First Sun of Spring is a phrase that just speaks to me, this is almost certainly where my vote will go.

I like these thematicaly, Ling Qi have many insights talking about enduring harshes and improving, getting better. a lot about living with endings, and starting anew for them. Now this will talk about what you do after the harshes, after you improve. About the time times between the ending. And thus theme connects nicely with all the idea of a place to relax, and playing around in addition to preparing for war

One way or another, Ling Qi had a feeling that things were going to be changing. It felt like standing on the precipice of a high tower under the moon, without the wind to catch her.
I second that feeling. The diplomatic mission with the White Sky will be a break-point for LQ, no doubt in my mind about it.
Mother was advancing slowly, but she was advancing. Ling Qi thought she might reach gold physique by the end of the year.
Note: Mother/ Ling Quingge may reach gold physique by the end of the year.
+60 dice to Spiritual Cultivation until Green 5
+60 dice to Physical Cultivation until Green 5
+55 dice to the cultivation of Yin Arts
+50 dice to the cultivation of Moon Arts
1/8 of XP gained through permanent cultivation bonuses added to Domain XP
Grants the user 2 virtual Green Stone per week(8 per turn)
Allows the User to Bind Spirits up to Grade Three
Reduces Upkeep of Spirits by 4 per spirit
10 Qi cultivation dice per turn up to S Rank
-Increases growth rate of bound spirits(effects increasing with Bond Level)
Growth rate of bound spirits is increased, which will influence Zhengui and Hanyi, but not the dress.
Also, lowering of Spiritupkeep by 4 per Spirit. 4x3=12 qi. That should give us a small qi letter in improvement I think.
The dice we have been given are a ludicrious improvement, I love it!
We gain trough cultivation of spiritual and physique domain xp, since this art level or before too?
Carefree Mantle: B
Duration: Long or Upkeep 5
It is not enough to merely follow the basic exercises of this art, to learn tricks of speaking and the use of humor as a smoothing and contrasting element in their rhetoric. To truly emulate the muse, one must defy certain ingrained social behaviors and learn to wear their emotion, their intent, their very self as a cloak. Though such openness can seem frightening to the neophyte, few methods are superior in conveying the sincerity of your intent. While active, the user receives a large bonus to speech tests when speaking honestly or attempting to convince others of their sincerity, and a similar bonus to poise and empathy tests

Deceiver's Foil: C
Duration: Short
The muse is a creature of pure expression, and many tales speak of the humorous humiliations which they sometimes heap on the dishonest and insincere. Though this art does not teach such excessive methods, through this technique, one may indeed suss out those who lie to the users face and find the inspiration to trip up and foil those with dishonest intent. The user receives a bonus to large Social Perception when attempting to detect lies and a bonus to speech when attempting to counter lies and misinformation. When used in conjunction with Carefree Mantle, this technique functions as if it were B rank for one test.

Cheerful Muse Accompaniment: B
Duration: Long
Some people can be quite rude, seeking to listen in on things that are not for their ears. Activating this technique, the user shrouds themselves and up to five other willing targets in a shroud of cheerful but inane speech, that at first seems important until eavesdroppers notice subjects and sentences alike circling back to their beginning in an endless loop of noise. Offers defense against social techniques, offering a significant bonus to the users poise when attempting to defend against outside listeners.
These techniques will be crucial in the White sky diplomatic mission. Surely there will be some local intrigue in play to quickly subvert our diplomatic mission for their favor through lies. I would be very surprised if no local White sky cultivator tried that.
Side Note: These Techniques are strangely well suited to discern the true tellings of old orally told tales like The Wind thief, should we hear some. Any RL historian would love these techniques for their WW2 research. Specifically the part about truth and misinformation. Maybe a future techniques will allow to discern the same through the sheets of paper?

Right now I am leaning towards Ice and Wood, the best of both worlds.

[] First Sun of Spring (Fire and Ice)

I'm leaning this. I want fire because we already did wood with TRF (Argent Current was fire, but I really don't think it mattered much) and I want ice because that makes it easier for Zhengui to work with Hanyi.

Great, both great thematics and suiting role. FSS is our main offense, so focusing on offense would be great, especially since wind thief just gave us a giant boost to our already crazy defense. Turning our best offense and only major one into a defensive art wil go poorly.(and by the way, I am pretty sure trees explode when freezing in extreme cold, not thawing after it, since the water in the sap expand rapidly when freezing, not thawing, and unlike other liquids. I get your point though)

I like Life Endures the Winter. It has got the Destruction + Growth theme only instead of Fire being Destruction it's Ice. I feel like this is the one that'd bring us closest to Zhengui in unifying our Concepts. That's something First Sun in Spring doesn't do as well. Zhen's Fire is renewal through destruction, not the first Sun. Ice and Fire are both cultivated as destructive concepts but combines into constructive ones out of the blue, I'd rather build on our Conceptual foundation than try to break our elements into new ground. It's the theme of the White Sky we're about to meet next month though, so there's some worth to it. Valley in the Shadow would be Zhengui and Ling Qi sharing building a home, a hidden valley for their family. I'm not sure this is the time for it though, I'd like to fix our relationship with Zhengui before we build our home and Life Endures the Winter sort of achieves the a similar theme.

I highly doubt the current vote will affect FSS+: FSS+ is almost certainly going to be about Hanyi and Ling Qi, and this is about Zhengui and Ling Qi. It would be narratively strange for this vote, 4 months or so before we even begin working on FSS+, to influence a future Ling Qi/Hanyi arc rather than do something to influence something immediate about Ling Qi and Zhengui.

In fact, looking at them, I am thinking it could either be a WHR improvement or something new altogether. Or I guess a direct influence on Ling Qi and Zhengui's domains.

Before things take of. Saying that this ties into FSS is so far fetched that you could claim that it will lead to instant lvling to Cyan. Try to remember what this event series is about before going on wild tangents.
