Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

I don't think so. It's just a fragment of the iron scepter the lady was using. A sliver of Iron. Iron is apparently important to that culture though given that their leader may be called the Iron Crone and the ice lady had transformed her finger's into iron as well.
It's also apparently so cold that even Ling Qi who has excellent cold resistance and got a taste for wine the temperature of liquid nitrogen found it painful to touch. I expect it's an excellent material if you want to make something with cold effects.

I expect the iron sliver is far more significant then Ling Qi might suspect. It is a fragment of an item that had an elder interested as well as being a token given after sanctuary was offered. There is more to that artifact that I am still mulling over, but that artifact is extremely interesting.

If "sanctuary" was meant as an offer against some foreseen danger, then that piece of from the Iron Scepter might be meant as a token for safe passage to the far south lands. It seems to be a unique enough material for that, and may even carry a bit of the aura of the whole item.

It certainly seemed too, if it was almost too cold for even Ling Qi to handle.

I think it's a piece of a White, if not a Sublime Ancestor. Because the Iron Crone isn't the Iron Crone; she's the Iron-Toothed Crone.
The Iron Toothed Crone, who flew north in a vessel of stone each winter to torment the People in the southern mountains, was an ancient foe of Father Sky. Where she passed, food spoiled, lesser beasts went mad and children disappeared from their cribs. She could not be fought, only survived.
I think this is a piece of Elsa's spirit ancestor's body, the same way the Bai collect fragments and venom from Grandmother Serpent and Meizhen's domain weapon is made from a scale of Suzhen's spirit beast, a seventh-grade entity. I think that the same way Meizhen has snake eyes, a dislocatable jaw, and other snake qualities, Elsa has iron fingernails as a result of her lineage, and her weapon is made from a shedding or harvested piece of the Iron-Toothed Crone.

That is an excellent idea, it could be a tooth or fingernail of the iron tooth crone. That explains why even the elder was interested in it as sublime grade materials would interest even the most dismissive elder. But for Elsa to have so much of such a powerful material she might actually have to be ice people royalty.

Yeah, it was the Elder's interest being piqued that made me think this. I don't think the Iron-Toothed Crone is quite the same thing as a Sublime Ancestor as the Imperials know it -- she's described in the Cloud Nomad interlude as being way more active than Sublime Ancestors -- but I'm pretty sure she's at least a White-level spirit or spirit beast, and so any fragments of hers would be potent indeed. Alternately, it could be a fragment from one of her daughters or powerful members of her line; a sixth or seventh-grade material component would catch the eye of an Elder almost as surely as an eighth-grade component would. But I definitely feel that thinking about Elsa as some sort of equivalent to Meizhen is warranted.

Imperious, steppy, extremely powerful, terrifying, cold in many ways... yeah it checks out. Though Meizhen doesn't curse like a sailor :V

Not particularly important, but could you remind me when/where that happened?
The birthday party Zeqing hosted for us when we were still in the outer sect. The wine was a super chilled wine, not sure about it being liquid nitrogen cold, but it was cold enough for Ling Qi to comment on it while being surrounded by ice and a spirit of winter.

Really hope LQ is able to hold on that piece of liquid nitro.... erm metal and doesn't have it taken away by the elder for his own use.
Pretty sure it would make for an insane talisman or maybe even better we let our Dress eat it and give our Dress super cold powers that can support us.
Just like CRX gown can shot light and support her with her own element, ours could make our cold attacks even worse also ICE ARMOR option for instances when our "phase shift" is not enough, would be really nice.

I would prefer if we make our final flute with it (if it is a white level material, witch i doubt) or our next flute.

Elsa-Senpai practically facepalm at us

Hah

Can ling qi use her super human memory to jolt down what elsa said for deciphering later?

Also is the battle basically over? Elder seem to imply it

Also Cai got beat up pretty good. Hope the corruption stains get looked at

Also are melee fighters usually get over the shoulder mandalas? Reference to Asura's wrath ...I think?
