This is actually the most dangerous option for the Ice Lady. People would expect her to flee the area, and remain close enough so she can negotiate. Thats close enough for the souther perimeter group to attack her. And if they do, that ruins the chance for her to talk, so she has to defend herself without harming any imperial, on the hopes Ling Qi didnt die so that Ling Qi can talk with her later. And that the imperials dont just imprison her afterwards.

its not about pushing away help its about realistic expectations and first impressions . Do you think the enemy saying " hey you have questions about me , if you help me out and possibly betray your faction/ teammates ill answer them...later" is better then " hey shits about to go to dodge, plz leave so we can speak later " (with the clear meaning that your asking for her to leave for HER saftey"

think about it in another hypothetical scenario. We are on a diplomatic mission with Cai and some empire forces, we get ambushed. during the fight we see something that interest us , or at the very least would be someone we would like to ask some questions about .maybe they are using arts eeerily similiar to us, maybe they pull out a xuan wu of zhenguis exact same typing, regardless, obviously its super peaked our interest. that being said , while we are still under attack the enemy cultivator goes " hey,help me out here, betray cai and your faction and ill answer some questions of yours " what do you think the threads gonna vote on? its gonna be a HELL NO.

Given that Core Disciple Diao is warming up, chances are that whatever play the Cloud Barbs set off to the South will be able to provide an excellent distraction for the two White sky reps to escape in the confusion of whatever the Cloud Barbarian counterstroke is going to be.

He isnt the only disciple, Liao zhu exists.

And the issue isnt the actuality, its what they think. They dont know aboutwhatour forces are, but tits very reasonable to assume a southern perimeter type thing. There is little reason to assume they will be able to dodge it, especially since they already feel a cyan which suggests that real resources are commited (if ling qi can feel it so can they)
 
We'd be getting super valuable intel which was our primary mission objective we weren't supposed to be fighting this many big names all at once in the first place, the sect WANTS information which ice lady can give

Dividing and conquering the barb contingent was one of the main reasons we avoided attacking White Sky in the first place at the start of this: they aren't terribly friendly with the others and aren't committed to hostilities against the Sect.

The equivalent isn't being asked to assist an enemy of CRX; the equivalent is being asked to assist an enemy of Sun Liling. Or Kang Zihao. Or, hell, just a Jin we don't really care about. Someone who is notionally part of our culture... but in reality we either dislike or have no reason to care about them. And I think the thread would definitely think hard about that.

Frankly you're overstating the allegiance held between them. This... isn't really IC for Ling Qi, it's more from interludes but from what little we've seen about the internal political situation of the nomads, the nomads have historically been fighting the groups that bootleg Elsa presumably originates from. SOME of them have opted for a "can't beat them, join them" response to this, but that doesn't she's particularly tied to the groups who have not in fact joined up.

Liao Zhu isnt going to assist in a Cyan level fight when he could tip the balance for Diao?

He's going to be focused on where he thinks he can best contribute with a well placed stab, not be on the lookout for runners from the Caldera

Hes precisely.that kind of reckless, as we can see from how hes not even letting his lack of an arm stop him from contributing in any way he can to the Sect itself especially by volunteering for high value, dangerous missions like scouting and this one back to back along with whatever else he gets up.to that we havent seen

BOTH options are talking to her later on,and the sect wants info from its PRISONERS!!!!! we are giving her the option to runaway

It doesnt matter though what the actual forces are. Its the fact that they are potentially really dangerous which is the issue. I was speaking from ice ladies perspective.

Then we can ask her for it later in exchange for what she wants to ask Ling Qi.

If you burn that card on asking for assistance here, then you are going to need something else to interest her.

Given that she's married to a Cloud Tribe guy, I find it hard to believe that she's offering to stab them in the back just to satisfy her curiosity. I think it's more likely that she thinks we're one of her people (considering the mention of 'lineage') that has been kidnapped at a young age or coerced by the imperials or something. 'Help' in this case could mean we get kidnapped.

Even if thats the case ,they are still fighting WITH the other barb forces, Her HUSBAND literally healed some enemy units and is currently engaging ours . our allies have been trying to attack her with ranged attacks , and her husband. Just becuase their faction isnt allies or hell even friendly doesnt mean they are suddenly gonna be willing to help the EMPIRE forces out

Dude im assuming basic military competence nothing crazy. And giving a potential enemy info on our forces is literally shit we should get court martialed for if we did it.

Her guy is White Sky. They're not the same as the Twelve Stars, and definitely not the same as the ones siding with the shishigui.

We were warned at the start of this: the Cloud tribes are not one thing. Even if she is genuinely a White Sky loyalist, that does not imply that she considers herself allied to the Twelve Stars or shishigui factions, just like how ducal clans in the Empire are all notionally part of the same polity but have alliances and rivalries with one another.

Sorry, when you say currently engaging ours, what do you mean? He wasn't mentioned at all this update, and in the last update he bolstered other barbs but otherwise stayed out of it.

The entire problem with this operation

Is that it has not been run competently

and this has been noted on by Renxiang herself

Besides. It's not like Ling Qi hasnt made under the table deals before. It'll get spun as a diplomatic show of good faith later, and the Sect isnt even at war with the white sky tribe

On every level, especially with Renxiangs backing, the Sect wont be able to do anything given Ling qis contributions here. The very idea is farcical because unlike Elsa here We know how they think
