Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
And they are going to be using Greens and Cyans to do that?
Its a fully organized state with organized armies with good leaders and strategists. So yes, why wouldnt they potentially do that if they believed it was to their advantage? We dont really have much of a read on their inclinations given how their response to a mere raid was ridiculously disproportionate.

we got 5 GSS 60 YSS turn income and 5 GSS 80 YSS Bao income, that translates to 12 GSS 40 YSS total income.
our regular cultivation expenses per turn are 8 GSS in regular turns and 12 GSS in the turn right after we advance one stage in spiritual cultivation. (this assumes that SSC continues its trend to give 4 virtual GSS per potency). assuming that our Bao income doesnt break in massively (i think that is fair, he makes money from the buisness too), our monthly income should cover our cultivation expenses from now on. after this turns income and cultivation expenses our current savings are 22 GSS, 617 YSS and 176 RSS, that translates in total to roughly 34 GSS.

for the future that means that we can afford small side-expenses more easily from now on. For this vote this means that we can afford the panic room from a GSS perspective.

(to be clear, 7 GSS is not a small side-cost and as it is we cannot (yet?) afford having 7 GSS side-projects every turn. but once in a while this should be ok)

Sure, there's no contesting the fact that Ling Qi is a fine catch for a diplomatic alliance! But a clan as important as the Xuan probably have a lot of possible marriage alliances they could make with him, and we don't know enough about the diplomatic state of things to know how the other possibilities for a talented but superfluous ducal scion stack up against "new baronial clan that is probably on track for a viscounty at some point if LQ doesn't die first or lose her Way."
I mean those Twin Admirals seem pretty interested in shipping the two of them together tho

They're apparently pretty big deals amongst the Xuan clan

Capitalist Carver Bao!
Bao is actually kind of funny. And he's a reasonable sort, although it's clear that he and LQ don't currently "click". Turtle boy is a bit of a romantic, judging by his choice of literature, and I'm not sure LQ is really able to deal with that.

The biggest obstacle is, when you come right down to it, that LQ seems afraid of men that are interested in her. I think it's part of why she's so obtuse when it comes to Xuan.

He's a friend, and she likes him, so she doesn't want to think he's like *That*

Five GSS is an easy price for another Tomb Raider Date. Turtle Boy really knows how to impress.

There is never enough defense. Also, favor too is fun.

Is it weird I am basically advocating paying 5 GS just for the privilege of owing a favour to Xuan Shi?

705: Ling Qi
706: Sun Liling

Come to think of it, this may not be mere luck of the wartime situation granting us privilleges. After darkness month is over, we may have a chance of outright beating her. Ducals are scary monsters, yes, but people in this thread seem to forget we are actually progressing faster than any of them, if only slightly, its just that their headstart is big and that each rank they move forward they get access to more OP techniques.

I would still bet on Liling winning, its just the prudent thing to do, but after darkness month, I would no longer consider her victory a certainty.

I enjoy the symmetry of getting a big bag of cash from Zhengui's efforts and immediately turning around to spend it on protecting our family.

The actual formations are likely to be a combination of raw reinforcement and the stealth/notice-me-not formations Xuan Shi has demonstrated on multiple occasions. The safe room will be significantly more secure with active cloaking thrown into the mix. Not only is it a hard target that enemies are probably likely to pass for softer opportunities(sorry, neighbours), but the chance of enemies detecting it in the first place are much lower.

Ultimately the Shishigui aren't going to spend the effort to break a third realm panic room to get at a few mortals. It wouldn't be worth the time and Qi invested in any quick assault which means our household is safe as long as the Sect doesn't loose the entire town.

One thing about the Darkness month is that, yes, we're getting a lot of new arts and such, but Ling Qi shouldn't actually be at her best with them yet. Even art levels aside, she just shouldn't have the expertise with all the many new arts that she would with her previous setup. The breadth and potency bumps make up for that, but I wouldn't expect the full 100% of the on-paper gains to actually materialize in the narrative due to inexperience and splitting her new attentions in so many different directions.
