[X][Zhengui] Verdant Ash Duality
More that IMO her movement techs need a lot more upgrading. If we do it next time then instead of having them ready later, we'd have them ready much much later.Well, you said it yourself, she will need upgrading her movement techs later, wich means next time. I have nothing against that.
I really think that we should get Blazing Blood to the same level as Blooming Ash before concentrating on Verdant Duality. Especially as Zhengui really doesn't have much he can learn from Ling Qi when it comes to Blazing Blood, but a lot for both Verdant and Ash Blooming.
That, and in the mid term Zhengui needs to have good anti air.
So if a cultivator can function with conflicting insights so long as they don't encounter said conflict, does that mean hermits are potentially glass powerhouses?
Since they don't interact with greater society and spend their time in solitude they are less likely to be exposed to feedback that would challenge their insights?
The reason I keep talking about how it's easier for Zhengui to learn Ash Blooming and Verdant Duality through Ling Qi example is because I think that the status quo is "Focus only on Gui". When Gui has all the advantages when it comes to cultivation (Wood site available, Ling Qi having multiple Wood arts), "focusing on the ability that represents both together" is actually keeping said status quo of "focusing on Gui above Zhen".Well, if we argue with potential gains for the options then Verdant Duality could improve Zhengui's healing ability. He is going to be a paladin and it is going to be glorious.
But my main argument is still that i like the idea of focusing on the ability that represents both together more than the idea of focusing on an ability that represents only half of him

I think you and @Arkeus believe different things about what it would mean for VAD to grow Zhen and Gui in a balanced way. While there are valid arguments to support Burning Blood, I strongly disagree that 'focusing on Zhen' is the correct answer to 'we focused more on Gui in the past'.
Trying to correct a mistake in one direction by commiting a second mistake in the oposite direction doesnt equal out, it just leads to making two mistakes.
In the same way, 'we were unfair to Zhen in the past' doesnt get fixed by being unfair to Gui now, it just leads to us being unfair to both of them. If we want to focus on both equally, then Verdan Duality, the option that actually focuses on both of them is the way to go.

If I understand you correctly, you interpret "growing Zhen and Gui in a balanced way" to inherently involve bringing them into balance, if the status quo involves them being unbalanced; so it doesn't matter what the status quo is, because Verdant Ash Duality will correct any imbalance as a first priority.
Arkeus, on the other hand, believes that "growing Zhen and Gui in a balanced way" means that whatever growth happens gets assigned to them equally, which means that it can only achieve balance if the starting condition is balanced: to use a mathematical analogy, if the status quo is Zhen 0, Gui +1, and you give both of them +.5, Zhen will never catch up to Gui.
I personally favor the latter interpretation, which is why I voted for Blazing Blood.
I don't think anyone thinks we're neglecting Zhen emotionally; it's just that Gui has the advantages cultivation-wise, so the wood side of things will advance faster than the fire all else being equal. That can't be fixed without deliberate effort to fix it.If we argue that we neglected one child before (Zhen), then the idea that neglecting the other child (Gui) to 'equal things out' is a completely wrong approach. If you noticed that you made the mistake, then the correct way to fix them is by making sure you do the right thing from then on by giving your attention to both of them.
