I'm pretty ignorant of what our mechanical needs are at this point, but I just want to ask if the Usurper was notable for stealing people's souls and assuming their shapes.
 
Well, yes, given the specialties of the artisan, something made of cloth would be nice, a ribbon or a choker of some kind maybe?

A cloak would be redundant given the properties of the dress, and a veil isn't really her theme either.
 
Eh, I'm not good at this. Gonna sit out and wait for the persuasive/mechanical arguments and shit and see what strikes my fancy.
 
Hmm...

Maybe a scarf? Scarves are cool, we can have it be a stealth or a speed accessory maybe? Double down on what we're already good at.

I'd say a veil fits more than a choker. LQ could probably really rock that whole mysterious traveller theme, with her music and movement arts.

Interferes with Sincerity is the issue, Ling Qi is fine hiding, but a Veil is all about obscuring someone in plain sight usually.
 
This entire conversation was a good mine in several different ways.

We got a little info on how things are going with the family, not well. We got info on what Cai likes to ride on her off time, dry boring philosophy apparently. We found out that Bai really dislikes the glorious pocket sand flower and saw Ling Qi calmly flounder her way through knitting.

But the biggest takeaway from this is that Bai and Cai seemed to have sat together and come to the consensus that Ling Qi's wardrobe is not allowed to stand as it is to the point of using some of those vaunted family resources coughmommy'sallowancemoneycough and that's the most hilarious mental image I have ever seen.

Jealousy is a confusing emotion. It doesn't have to make sense, or even have a reason, to flare up. It could very well be that you don't want others to talk so personably with Meizhen because you were the first one to really break down her barriers and gain her trust in that way. And if other people can do it, that means that Meizhen might drift away from you to them.

Which is pretty nonsensical, because Meizhen considers you one of, if not the, best friend she has outside of family. It will take quite a bit to have you and Meizhen drift apart.
 
do equipment stats even matter in the system right now? we should just get something that seems useful in the narrative.

I thought that was about how Meizhen is respected more than us due to her family status

I like the hand fan idea! There is a lot of different pictures we could have painted on one, and there are a plethora of uses for it.

Another idea I had was some fashionable footwear. We haven't upgraded our footwear in forever.
 
On further thought, a nice set of shoes would be nice, in theme, and we could use it to lean even harder into our stealth memes.

Or alternately, Physical Hit and have it augment our Dance/Athletics game to support PLR?

Hand fan for some wind effect. Maybe voice projection, if we do not already have an art for that? One that can send our voice directly to someone in our sight as long as they are a certain distance from us when our lips are hiding behind it? So we can whisper secrets to Cai in plain site?

Or, the shoe idea for a bonus in dance?
 
Yeah, I think I have an idea.

This augments PLR and its area control, which seems like it's going to be our primary crowd control mechanism during that awkward period where FVM falls behind but we haven't upgraded it fully yet, and as a spicy bonus, it also augments the FSS finisher, as that requires Physical Hit to land the touch for the ultimate move.
