If there's any consolation to this entire battle is seeing ComStar getting kick the shit out of it.

You forget, this version of Comstar has already undergone the schism with the Word of Blake who are currently off living in in the Combine, and have been mostly purged of their worst elements by Focht. It's likely they're at the single point in time in their history where they can change from what the originally were into something better.
 
Well can imagine because of the clan invasion more helghan gear is going to end up on the market from stuff falling off the truck and people scavenging battlefields, and most likely repairing ones that others thought would be to much effort or making something from a combination of gear or mechs, because if there is one thing you can count on in BattleTech is that there is always people with skills and imagination that will make a broken rail gun or missile launcher somewhat work again and even more soldiers and mech pilots that will take the potential risks, because they are a risk taker or that there is really no other choices they have.

And they can buy the original equipment from us so aside sales restrictions on certain gear, it wouldn't be impossible for stuff like hover tanks or even a Hel Knight to be sold in pristine or factory fresh condition to a merc outfit or a collector.

I don't think designs with a Ir Pet Reactor or pet weapons will leave ORDI for quite some time. After all those are our biggest advantages even now giving those to a group that can turn around and sell it to one of the great houses for a greatly marked up price would be a bad decision.

In fact I highly doubt that outside the Clan invasion expeditionary force Hel Knights are used by the other ORDI members exactly because of the Ir Pet Reactor. It's already hard enough to supply our own forces with enough reactors to keep them going supplying other nations with them aswell would be a nightmare. It's more likely that mechs that use a fusion Engine like the Thanatos are sold instead as there much easier to supply with replacement parts and keep in good condition.

Focht wasn't doing the purging this time, and thank goodness, because in canon he put Sharilar Mori in charge and he also purged the entire religious wing of ComStar, including the moderate Blakists. That was the main thing that even made the Word of Blake relevant on a large scale to begin with; here, without that, even with the losses in market share to the Warp Communications Consortium and the Great House warpcomms networks, ComStar is still effectively dominant in every part of the Inner Sphere save the Combine, where the WoB to me at this moment seems to primarily be relevant insofar as they're being actively propped up by the Combine government as a cutout.
So 1 win for comstar and 1 win for the clans so far
Actually, I think so far its two victories for ComStar, one split, and one Clan victory. Part Three confirmed that both the Coyotes and Diamond Sharks suffered total defeats, from the discord the Wolves had a split (and the Wolf victory may technically belong to the Fire Mandrills?) and this is the first Clan victory.

Anyways, it seems that here the Ghost Bears are one of the clans to have really learned the lessons of fighting the Inner Sphere. ComGuards certainly made an effort to bring out that book of dirty tricks we know and love, what with the dense artillery-laid minefields, extensive artillery, and preparation of the terrain using demolitions, traps, rockfalls, and even trenches filled with napalm, and it's clear it definitely hurt the Ghost Bears, but it seems that Focht judged that having the 2nd and 4th Armies intact to counter other clans was worth it after having done a lot of attrition to the Ghost Bears.

Of course they are only giving out not perrusite equipment what mercenary would want something that can't be more easily fixed by cannibalizing the parts they took from their enemy, and what more freedom loving mercenaries would take something that is practically a locked leash to their necks?

Yeah with it looking like that it's not hard to see why a lot of people are crash building their own Navy's.
Indeed though what I think is the best feature of the design is that is feels like a Helghan ship. For the sequel I really hope we can make a ship based on the Khage (Stahl's experimental cruiser) because I personally it's the best looking ship in the entire Helghan Empire navy.

Seeing this picture reminds me of how impactful Helghan's appearance in the Inner Sphere is.

Overview:
The origin of the Beetle creation began after the end of the Clan invasion. With ORDI being the first to reverse engineer Clan technology it's members began making new machines to make full use of this new technology. The Aurigan Coalition was no different in this area however while the nation had gotten access to next generation Battlemechs thanks to the United ORDI Design Competition it lacked a mech to truly call it's own. Seeing an opportunity High Lady Kamea Arano commissioned Coalition Heavy Industry (CHI) to create the Coalitions first domestic battlemech.

Seeing the importance of this commission CHI put their best engineering team led by Jonathan Clark to work completing this project. Many on the team originally were expecting to be working on creating a pretty standard looking battlemech. Jonathan however had other ideas. You see, besides being an incredible engineer Jonathan is also a massive nerd with a deep love for alien invasion stories and ever since becoming an engineer he dreamed of bringing his passion to life.

So the day before the project was to start Jonathan took his team to the premier of the newest movie in the famous Invasion in the Deep Periphery series, a movie franchise all about a planet in the deep periphery getting invaded by aliens. Most of the team thought nothing of this event however the next day they would be majorly surprised when Jonathan told them that they were going to make the Aurigan Coalitions first battlemech be based on the aliens of the movie.

While the team was initially skeptical of the idea Jonathan proceeded to convince his team with an 2 hour long presentation on why using the aliens as inspiration was a good idea. And he ended up succeeding in convincing his team resulting in the strange and intimidating aesthetic of the modern day Beetle.

One of the Beetles defining features is it's neck, something that no mech before it had. This design choice was made on purpose so that the mech had the capability to fully detach it's head when an ejection was necessary, allowing the head to safely fly off into the distance.

However the team would encounter a major hurdle during the Beetle development. In recent years Helghan had re-introduced the concept of highly modular machines. These machines while not as flexible as Omni mechs benefited from not having to use podded weapons while still allowing for weapons to be easily removed for repair, maintenance or customization. However this new standard wasn't easily achieved with the team struggling to get the modularity the High Lady requested the machine to have. Janathan eventually had to contact a Helghan engineer he had met at a convention for assistance to finally get modularity to function properly.

While initially put off by the Beetles aesthetics Kamea ended up approving the mech for full production in 3059 after it completed it's trails and it quickly became a favorite machine for lance commanders do to the machines advanced communications systems.

Capabilities:
Even though the 50 ton A3-BTE Beetle is the Aurigan Coalitions first domestically created battlemech the mech is packed with advanced technology. The mech uses the latest and greatest in material technology being equipped with a Ultra-Light 2C Frame Clan grade Endo-Steel structure covered in 9 tons Nexus type 343 Clan grade Ferro-Fibrous giving it superb protection. Within the endo-steel structure lies a Solar Shine 200 rate Fusion Engine allowing the Beetle to have a walking speed of 43,2 km/h and a running speed 64,8 km/h supported by 4 exhaust jumper jumpjets which allow for jumps up to 120 meters. While this by no means fast it does make the Beetle quite mobile. For communication a Connection Point communication system is installed. This communication system is noted for it's excellent performance and allows commander to direct entire formations from the cockpit. Meanwhile for targeting the Beetle is equipped with the average 23B Snap Shot Targeting and Tracking System.

For weapons the A3-BTE is equipped with 2 Type 3 PLC Helghan Large Pulse Lasers with one being located in the left torso and the other being located in the center torso. These next generation Large Pulse Lasers have greatly extended range compared to those of the previous generation while retaining their increased accuracy and damage. To support the pulse lasers at close range in the left arm is located a Thunder Splitter X-Particle Projector Cannon. This newly developed close range focused PPC was chosen because of its lighter weight compared to a standard PPC and lesser heat production compared to the ER PPC alongside giving the Beetle the ability to more easily deal with shielded targets. To deal all the heat generated by this full energy weapon loadout 17 clan grade double heatsinks are installed which makes the mech completely heat neutral when walking or running but jumping and firing everything will cause a small amount of heat buildup the Mechwarrior needs to be aware of.

Variants:
B3-BTE: Introduced by the Capellan Confederation in 3060 the B3-BTE turns the Beetle from a mid to close range brawler into a long range sniper. Removing the original weaponry the B3-BTE instead installs 2 Ceres Arms C-II Smasher Clan grade ER PPC's one it the right arm and one in the left torso. These next gen PPC's have the same range as the ER PPC's of the Star League are slightly lighter and have more firepower. To make sure the PPC's hit there mark this Beetle variant has a Targeting Computer installed in the right torso. Using the left over tonnage a Chaff pod is installed in the left arm. This variant has the same 17 double heatsinks as the original.

C3-BTE: A Taurian modification of the B3-BTE introduced in 3062 the C3-BTE removes the left torso ER PPC, the targeting computer and all the jump jets for a Catastrophe Impact LB20-X Autocannon in the same location as the removed PPC. The LB20-X is fed by 4 tons of ammo 1 ton of which is located in the left torso with the rest being located in the left arm. To make sure this ammunition doesn't destroy the mech if it where to be detonated the internal structure is upgraded with clan CASE.

D3-BTE: Introduced by Majesty Metals and Manufacturing a few months after the B3-BTE, this Beetle is the Magistrates' take on turning this machine into a sniper. Like the B3-BTE all the original weapons are removed in their place is a Thunder Clap Gauss Rifle in the right arm fed by 3 tons of ammo and 3 Martell model HM Helghan Medium Lasers 2 of which are located in the left torso with the final one being in the center torso. However what really sets this Beetle apart from the rest is that it's equipped with a Null signature system making it incredibly difficult to detect when the system is active. To fit all this new equipment the total heatsink count is reduced to 12 however this is more than enough to allow the mech to jump and fire its entire arsenal without repercussions.
