Good. Now I wonder if the Clans have any info about us via the Wolf's Dragoons or Jamie Wolf didn't sent a lot of info back to the Clans barring about us and ORDI.
Wolf was ordered to go to ground and start "preparing" the Inner Sphere for an invasion in 3019 (Capital job on that Jaime, by the way.), so by the time the Republic actually makes its serious public debut around the Aurigan War they've already cut off contact.

That said, the canonical invasion was triggered by a Comstar ship that had information about the FedCom aboard and that was a big part of expediting Clan plans. Obviously there's no FedCom here, but given that the Snow Ravens are one of the main "putzing about with warships" clans I wouldn't be surprised to learn Helghan/ORDI naval tech was a driver.

And hey! We might finally get to see how the People's Navy stands up to the McKenna!

Clan Fire monkie is a part of the invasion

the guys that genocided themselves to extinction somehow ended up winning a corridor

I know there was a short summary a few posts back but could you, or someone else, drop off some of the proposals and explanations for how they're supposed to work?

You should ask @Forgothrax regarding this. His was the initial makeup for the hypothetical force. Ground force was a few divisions at least. Anything more will likely depend on negotiations with IS. But a few warships and divisions was around what Prom said we could afford with what we have. So obviously negotiating with Comstar, Lyrans, Tikonov and ofc Rasalhague will further solidify what we can really send. A wider invasion corridor will mean Lyrans, at least, will be very affected. A boon for negotiations.

As others have said, this timeline is different. Clan Time Paradox Butterfly may have sabotaged canon.

Another interesting thing is how Clans Snow Raven and Coyote are both part of the first wave.

Canonically, after the Outbound Flight got discovered, the Coyote attacked Clan Snow Raven for glory and territory, and the resulting fracas weakened both Clans so much that neither was strong enough to even participate in the Invasion Clan Trials.

That must not have happened TTL, and as a result both Clans were strong enough to participate and ended up winning First Wave tickets.

Now I'm even more determined to see this game to its full end.

A fully empowered Clans invasion? Sign me the freak up.

Our Navy will be the main front liner against the Clans, won't it?

Freaking Great Houses and their obsession with mechs. Not as bad as the Clans, but still.

So why would we get involved at all?
The Clans are the Moronic descendants of Kerenskys deserters. We can just sit back and build up ourself and Ordi while the go and fight 2 possible 3 of the Sucessor states.(If anyoe thinks that they can conquer and permanent occupy billions of people with a their million level population I will laugh)

Also is Helgans public not tired of war? Getting involved in another war right after we got peace seems to be contra productive. As of now we do not have even casus belli outside of you want to make a star league. Let them waste men and material first hell if we are lucky Word of Blake/Comstar take care off the clan problem before we need to get involved.

We also are right now reoranizing our army right? So another reason to not get involved.

And lastly if I remember right we do not have a Battleship right now so perhaps designing and constructing at least one of them firt before trying to fight the clans is a good idea?

I am surprised at the current invasion routes. Right now, it looks like the Clans are ignoring or barely attacking the Combine in favor of Rasalhague which is odd considering how eager they were to invade it in canon with I believe two Clans attacking into it. I wonder what changed to cause the shift in invasion routes?

After all the Clans prefer hard fights to get better Glory and bragging rights after winning and they expected the Combine to be the second hardest fight in canon after the FedCom which was part of the reason all wanted to invade it if they could not get the FedCom corridor. The Wolves were after all assigned Rasalhague in canon by their rivals to sabotage them since they expected them to be an easy fight and thus no chance to get glory while in this story it seems like four clans all chose the Republic as their invasion corridor.

Backread.

In summary, yes it is a good idea. Like, seriously people, tech is how we keep our advantage. Always moving, never stopping. Either we and IS have clan tech or only IS have clan tech.

You dont need an essay telling you why.

It's because of us. They fear what the Helghast represent. And the quickest way to Helghan is through Rasalhague.

Even if we decide not to directly contribute forces, getting involved means we can kick off a massive degree of Arms Sales to the various participants.

That's a lot of C-Bills we can make use of for things like Outback Development.

Sounds like a good opportunity to get Rasalhague into ORDI. The Houses can look after themselves.

Unless.... Steiner Periphery State?

"Similarly," the man smiled thinly. "While I imagine that news of the invader's origins has already reached you from those HPGs in the path of their invasion, I am obligated to inform the First Circuit that we are not facing another Helghan situation."

That triggered a reaction from the Precentors, a quiet hiss of relief rising as if from nowhere at the admission, and a glance revealing looks of relief on the faces of Precentors Tharkad and Rasalhague that vanished just as quickly.

Ulthan couldn't blame them. Ever since the Helghan Republic had flashed into existence in the Periphery, it had been nothing but trouble for ComStar. Tremendously developed on an industrial and intellectual level, it had proven itself a wildly destabilising influence on the galaxy, every move it made in ComStar's favour countered by an equal and opposite move elsewhere.

*Laugh under gas mask*

U mad, bro?

i say we stay out of it for now.
IMO, we should involve ourselves in the situation now rather than later.

After all, joining now gives us three benefits: A way to make money via being an arms dealer, technological loot from the Clans, and a way to ensure our Navy and Army would not be caught red-handed.

Besides, the Clans are gunning towards us if you look at the map and how the invasion corridors are positioned. Four of the Six Clans are tearing right through Rasalhague and below them is ComStar and after that, ORDI via the Capellan Confederation.

So, I'd say that we join NOW rather than later.
