I did mean fallen thank youDo you mean have fallen in battle? Or do they skin still living ultrabears?

Right? Salamanders are just the gift that keeps giving!Salamanders have metal as hell funerals. If I remember right, Their Brother will Slowly lower the body of their honoured brother down on a Adamantium slab, With battle brother lowering the slab via metal chains which are wrapped around their arms. They lower the Slab into the Lava of their homeplanet, and hold it their until the body has been completly sublimated by the lava, Enduring the heat of the chains they wrapped around their arms, And then Raising it up and out.
Now, Something can be said about it being horrific, Burning yourself like that. On the other hand, its a funeral right and enduring the pain of your planets flames, Branding the Memories of your fallen comrade into your arms even as they return to the fires of the planet they died serving, Is metal as all hell, and 1000% more valid then cutting off functional pieces of yourself because flesh bad m'kay.
they also celebrate captain promotions by setting you on fire by having you stand on a spout that shoots up a pillar of flames
also apparently old salamanders about to die of old age are harvested of their geneseed and then walk out into the flaming deserts of nocture to just die in the flames of the wilderness?
1 each.Just to be sure, how many Training and Equipment slots do we have for this turn?
Or maybe it's a minor Geneseed flaw that no one actually cares about? They just don't have as long of a lifespan. Still probably leagues longer than a normal human naturally has.The weird part is how the salamanders have enough marines dieing of old age that this actually became a tradition, Dante is the Oldest Non-dreadnought, Non-warp tainted marine alive, at 1,500 years old. Old enough that he actually started to show signs of age such as graying and wrinkling.
Early edition weirdness maybe?

Something that could be a cultural meme for this chapter could be the making and wearing of masks. Specifically in the sense of younger, newer marines having fairly plain, simple masks, but as you go up the hierarchy/veterancy, the masks get more ornate, until you can determine officers, champions, and old veterans simply because their masks are so extravagant. Just a thought, but it would make sense what with the whole burning off their own faces thing. Could even be them symbolically taking a new face, so to speak.
Forgot about the giant bears? Those things will need apothecarys as well considering just how much dakka they will get sent their way, also taming those things can't be painless.People they already have apothecaries, all chapters have them. And they aren't burning their entire bodies just their faces. Adding more apothecaries to try to improve the issue doesn't seems like it would work since they would already be around for the ritual and anymore just runs into the 'too many chefs' in the kitchen issue.
Either the apothecaries would already be doing that or they'd have dedicated serfs for it. We don't need apothecaries we need to double down on their legendary traits.Forgot about the giant bears? .... The bears are a legendary trait.Either the apothecaries would already be doing that or they'd have dedicated serfs for it. We don't need apothecaries we need to double down on their legendary traits.
We already have apothecary's, every chapter has them. Just because we don't have more doesn't mean that they will all die out considering that if that happens odds are the whole chapter dies out.Forgot about the giant bears? They aren't a legendary trait. If people want to decrease how often our dudes are killed including the bears seems like it makes way more sense to go with skills that synegize with our actual legendary traits..... The bears are a legendary trait.
As for the apothecaries handling it.... No, that's specifically what better apothecaries is for: handling anything beyond the normal generic requirements of any basic space marine chapter. The bears are not part of a basic generic chapter requirement. As for veterinary serfs, that would require some extra support or close relationship to the planet.
Extra Dreadnaughts could be an option, with how all of these guys nearly kill themselves with fire.Immolation: The Chapter's Marines…. More or less melt their faces off in an attempt to rid themselves of the visage of the Arch Traitor. Many Battle Brothers require cybernetics to maintain combat efficiency, or even survive after the process.
