The Long Founding (Warhammer 40k)

I think even when they do not have martial homeworld, they will have strong martial culture AND I believe...they will be a brotherhood.

Honesrly we already have 3 melee traits might as well go for a 4th Supreme mellee unless QM says its redundant?
Of course we can get it. With Eternal Guard, they already rolled Blademastery, we can double down on things. I just don't see a reason here, I much rather just go with Chaplain and save the extra training for later Chapters.

We want to create Imperial version of Black Legion here...but I see your point on what you mean.
Well, frankly for that, logistics and Chapter bounds would be more important. Black Legion is for the large part, so successful, because Abaddons, keeps everything under control, so it's very well organized, at least compared to most other Warbands. The other is the fact, everyone can join, and the Black Legion doesn't care about the gene-seed lineage, allowing for large number of Chaos Marines to join, including individual Traitors from Loyal Legions or later formed, Imperium's Chapters.

Being powerful helps, but it's really not needed. While being good at reforming the Marines that are send to them and understanding those Marines, creating strong bounds with them...That's needed.

Anyway, I just hope this turn will finally teach us for good, to never assume things. Night Lords aren't sadistic by nature and Salamanders aren't cuddly transhumans by nature. Chapter culture is what shapes the Chapter first and foremost.

Everyone was talking about Empathy for World Eaters, completely ignoring the fact, that only Angron had it and the Legion itself didn't share it, and the fact, that people talk about this, only because it contrasts with how Angron turned out, due to nails. We just can't assume things and base everything on that and the fact of the matter, is, we should have gone with Word Bearers for this Chapter or Luna Wolves or the mix between the two.

We get both for free because we took the Shamed mission
Yes. But it doesn't stop us from doubling down. Well, at least in case of Chaplains, I guess.
Conditions: Chapter gains politics training for free, extra Chaplains, and will be of an unusual size.
It says, Chapter gains Politics training for free, but only says that the Chapter will have extra Chaplains. So I have to assume the Chapter still can have, even more and better trained Chaplains. In case of Politics, it depends on how it works in practice, it can work as if we choose the training at the end of Chapter creation, in which case we can't double down or it can work like natural trait, as if the Chapter rolled politics while doing traits roll, in which case we can double down, just like we could with Eternal Guard Blademastery.

Alternatively we could also go for the Fortification and Tech-Marines specializations in order to double down on the Ship Maintenance Masters trait

It could lead to an interesting Chapter culture

We also have obvious synergy

[ ] Boarding Specialists: The Chapter's Marines are truly masters at boarding voidcraft - even by Space Marine standards.

Nice niche:
[ ] Space Hulk Operations: Through extensive practice, the Marines of this Chapter are masters at fighting in the unique conditions of Space Hulks.

And my favorite synergy:

[ ] More Champions: This Chapter has more Champions than most can claim.

Oh cool in that case

[ ] Elite Assault Marines: The Assault Marines of this Chapter are a cut above the average, quite literally. Their greater skill offers enhanced fast assault and close quarters ability to the Chapter as a whole.

This Works better than Blademasters for synergizing with Extreme Melee Traits

[ ] Terminator Training: The Marines of this Chapter are supremely skilled in using the legendary Tactical Dreadnought Armour, more commonly known as Terminator Armor.
1 Charge of More Terminators
We Can also go with This For Lots of Melee Terminators

[ ] Extra Assault Packs: The Chapter has a great number of Assault Packs, letting them retain a greater number of Assault Marines in each Company.

In terms of equipment this is really the only choice since were too good at melle not go all in on it.

Edit:
Yeh if we have Extra Trainer
[ ] Elite Assault Marines
[ ] Terminator Training:
[ ] Extra Assault Pack
1 Charge of More Terminators

For lots of Elite Melee Astartes and then more Elite Terminators.

Does anyone else feel like making this chapter more rounded out rather than specialised? They will be getting space marines from all over, so they should, by default, be capable of accommodating a wider variety of combat strategies and tactics.

Good point, especially given their structure will be very much not standard so specialising should not be the best choice, especially when it is not chapter with 1000 Astartes but something closer to Legion in the future.

Well, originally I wanted to wait few more turns before creating The Shamed Chapter and stuff them with extra training, for this exact reason.

Then, the extra training price changed...Then we got hit with hard point limit...And we wasted, all 80 points, the only time we can have this many, on buying extra equipment, we can't even use for this Chapter...And now, we have a single extra training charge.

And then, we didn't roll Angron Empathy and instead rolled "Death-the Chapter". If we don't roll well for Chapter events, this will be our first Chapter to die.

But yeah, let's make them rounded out.

I mean if you want "a wider variety of combat strategies and tactics" then we could give them specialization in Marksman and Scouts and then equip them with Whirlwind for artillery, that would make the Chapter pretty tactically diverse... feels kind of ultramarine-ish tho
