The Long Founding (Warhammer 40k)

...Yeah, now that I think about it, protecting our food supply and getting a chapter stationed in Segmentum Obscuris should probably take priority.

[] Plan: My Finest Warriors
-[] The Shamed: As things stands there is nothing to do with Marines who have fallen out of favor with their Chapter, nor those who have committed crimes steep enough to bring dishonor, yet not severe enough to warrant death…. Of course, the only thing even remotely fitting to monitor these wayward Marines would be other Marines.
Conditions: Chapter gains politics training for free, extra Chaplains, and will be of an unusual size
-[] Traitor Legion Geneseed: If you wish, you could gain access to the gene-seed of the Traitor Legions. Each will have its benefits and costs, but all of them will have their gene-fathers concealed for practical reasons - little point creating a Chapter only for them to be wiped out by some overly paranoid fool. Write in a traitor legion. 10 Points for each time this is taken.
--[] Emperor's Children
-[] Potent Gene-Seed Charge: Some samples of a chapter's gene-seed are more likely to retain their stronger traits, and you have isolated such samples. 5 Points for each charge. Burn a charge to make the chapter roll for two traits from their parent legion.
-[] Adaptive Gene-Seed: Some samples of Gene-seed are more capable of adapting to different conditions on different planets. 5 Points each charge. Burn a charge to roll an extra planetary trait.
-[] More Equipment: You've managed to secure extra equipment for a Chapter. 10 Points. Burn 1 charge to add an extra equipment slot for the Chapter. x3
-[] Extra Trainers: With some extra effort and yelling at a few more bureaucrats, you ought to be able to arrange things so the new Chapter is able to get in some extra specialized training before proper deployment. 15 Points. Burn 1 charge to get an extra training option. x2

Make them utterly STACKED. Literally no other option but to become great when you join the legion. Drowning in the best gear and training that money can buy. Whoever said that you can't be great at everything is a liar!

I'm sorry to be bringer of the bad news, but point cost changed.

You're plan doesn't work. Not enough points.

The shamed should be world eaters if we are doing traitor chapters, they have the empathy ability which more than likely reduces others susceptibility to chaos.

And half of what disgraced space marines likely need is just that, empathy. If they did anything truly bad they'd be killed. The ones ending up in the shamed either made honest mistakes or outright shouldn't be in the shamed but are because their chapter sucks or overall politics.

It really is ideal.

Edit- and the shamed should be done because now is an ideal time to reduce the number of chaos susceptible or somewhat traitorous space marines .

Here are some plan ideas what do you think

[ ] Plan Luna Redemption
-[ ] The Shamed: As things stands there is nothing to do with Marines who have fallen out of favor with their Chapter, nor those who have committed crimes steep enough to bring dishonor, yet not severe enough to warrant death…. Of course, the only thing even remotely fitting to monitor these wayward Marines would be other Marines.

-[ ] Legendary Gene-Seed: The finest Gene-Seed ever recovered from a given Legion. 15 Points per charge, Burn a Charge to add a Legion's legendary traits to the roll list for that round. X2
-[ ] Extra Trainers: With some extra effort and yelling at a few more bureaucrats, you ought to be able to arrange things so the new Chapter is able to get in some extra specialized training before proper deployment. 15 Points. Burn 1 charge to get an extra training option.

[ ] Plan Joker Fun House
[ ] Secure and Capture: Another request from the so-called 'Inquisition'. It appears they want a Chapter specialized in tracking down and capturing select targets... 'alive'... you would rather not try and comprehend the reasoning. You truly do wonder what Malcador was thinking some days. An update on this request has revealed that the primary target is actually other Inquisitors of all things. You still don't comprehend Malcador's logic.
Goals: Create a Chapter skilled in not killing specified targets.
-[ ] Traitor Legion Geneseed: If you wish, you could gain access to the gene-seed of the Traitor Legions. Each will have its benefits and costs, but all of them will have their gene-fathers concealed for practical reasons - little point creating a Chapter only for them to be wiped out by some overly paranoid fool. [ ] Plan: A Shield against the Howling Dark

-[ ]
Reinforcing Obscurus: An increase in threats in Segmentum Obscurus has led to many within the Imperium pushing for additional Space Marines within the region. A contribution by you would go a long way towards assuaging their fears. Goals: Create a chapter on a world with the (Segmentum Obscurus) tag.

-[ ] Extra Whirlwinds: This chapter has access to more Whirlwind artillery pieces than is average. 5 Points
-[ ] Potent Gene-Seed Charge: Some samples of a chapter's gene-seed are more likely to retain their stronger traits, and you have isolated such samples. 5 Points for each charge. Burn a charge to make the chapter roll for two traits from their parent legion. [x3 Charges - 15 Points]
-[ ] Adaptive Gene-Seed: Some samples of Gene-seed are more capable of adapting to different conditions on different planets. 5 Points each charge. Burn a charge to roll an extra planetary trait. [x2 Charges - 10 Points]
-[ ] Legendary Gene-Seed: The finest Gene-Seed ever recovered from a given Legion. 15 Points per charge, Burn a Charge to add a Legion's legendary traits to the roll list for that round.
-[ ] Extra Land Raiders: The Chapter is able to acquire more Land Raiders than normal, allowing them to more freely deploy the mighty IFV against their enemies. 10 Points per charge.
-[ ] More Terminators: This Chapter has more sets of Terminator Armor than normal, meaning more of their veterans can use the famed heavy assault suits. 10 Points per charge.
-[ ] Extra Trainers: With some extra effort and yelling at a few more bureaucrats, you ought to be able to arrange things so the new Chapter is able to get in some extra specialized training before proper deployment. 5 Points. Burn 1 charge to get an extra train

An Iron Warriors chapter armed for bear should be perfect for shredding any invading Chaos forces.

If we get Empathy. Again, what traits we get is random. The Astral Gears is best example, they Iron Hands but lack "Flesh is Weak". Just because, they will be World Eaters doesn't mean they will get Empathy and for all we know, Empathy might be a Legendary trait on top of everything.

Just so you know, I'm not saying we shouldn't use World Eaters, I myself made plan that uses them, and it's also based on the potential Empathy trait, but so people understand, we aren't guaranteed to get it and so, we shouldn't base the entire plan on this one thing.

We can mix World Eaters with Word Bearers, and this way get the Chapter that has natural affinity towards intellectual, oratory and martial pursuits, great as both warriors and chaplains, and this way, although lacking empathetic abilities, they will be able to relate to Space Marines from across many Chapters, recognize the actual situation that happened, like you said, if Marine commited a simple mistake, a desperate choice or was cast out due to horrible Chapter culture and worldview, and help them.

Creating this way, strong warrior brotherhood with their charges from other Chapters. Something like the warrior lodges from Horus Heresy, except, without Chaos bullshit of course.

For the same reasons, we could mix together Luna Wolves and Word Bearers together.

Again, I'm not saying that we shouldn't be using World Eaters, but we shouldn't base everything on this one trait, that we might or might not get, based on our rolls.

We already have access to Iron warrior geneseed we dont need to get it again

Crap. Uh, do we have a dedicated page threadmarked page for ALL of our unspent assets, both Geneseed and other options?
Here:

The Long Founding (Warhammer 40k)

In the grimdark future of the post Heresy Imperium one very salty Adeptus Mechanicus Genetor finds himself in charge of a long term Space Marine creation project. He remains very salty regardless.

Also, if you want, you can just check previous update and see what geneseed we have there.

Also, are people actually wanting to save up Legendary charges or are buying two Legendary charges just because? I did it, because my plans assume creation of Chimeric Chapters, we need two separate charges, if we want to get Legendary traits from both Legions. But if you want to create single geneseed-line Chapter and don't want to save the charges for later, there's no point in wasting points on Legendary charges, when you can buy another extra training.

For my plans i want to use one for this chapter and save the other for the next chapter

Geneseed wise we have access to all of the loyalist legions expect the space wolves and of the traitors we have access to Iron warrior, Alpha legion, and word bearer geneseed

Gotcha. Though there's something else I'd like clarification on. I'm seeing some proposals with multiple purchases of 1 time modifiers. I see that we can buy them multiple times and store the charges, but we can only use one of each on any given chapter, correct? So we can't, for example, assign more than one Extra Equipment bonus to a chapter? Or am I misunderstanding that part?

As far as I know how it works is we can buy charges and not use them but when we use them its gone we we have to buy new ones. the extra equipment and extra trainers allow us to pick more specialist and equipment for the chapter like during this last chapter we used extra triniers to get better marksmen, more techmairnes, and have our chapter be good at politics without the extra trainers we would have only been allowed to choose one of those, same thing applies to the equipment.

Hmm, in that case, seeing as there's no need to sink money into buying the geneseed for the Iron Warriors...what are you folks' thoughts on an Iron Warriors/Ultramarines chimeric chapter for Reinforcing Obscuris? A blend of the Iron Warriors' intelligence and expertise in siegecraft and heavy vehicles/weapons plus the Ultramarines' stability and tactical adaptability seems like it would be a good combination.

I can definatly see the merit, but a lot of people seem to want to do the Shamed mission this turn

@undead frog Do we have the Thousand sons geneseed, or was it only for the Emperor's task. Because i understood that we kept the geneseed, but i see a lot of people that are writing to buy the geneseed

Iron Warriors already have stability, the only thing Ultramarines really offer is extra potential planetary traits, so for you're plan, best to buy a lot of Potent and Adaptable charges, to maximize the number of Chapter traits, as well as two charges of Legendary, to have a shot at rolling two Legendary traits, one from Smurfs and one from Iron Warriors.

It was one time thing, because request needed Chapter with primary Thousand Sons geneseed. So we got it free for Golden Sons and only Golden Sons. If we want to make another Thousand Sons Chapter, we need to actually buy them this time around.

[ ] Cauter Blade: A specialized vibro blade of intense cutting power, which the Techpriest showing it to you theorizes was probably made for usage against regenerating creatures by the Ancients. When the Cauter Blade is active, the middle of the blade becomes superheated to the point that both sides of the wounds it creates are separately cauterized, keeping the wound from healing properly and making it far more difficult to reattach or regenerate lost limbs. It does, of course, come with the caveat that enemies struck with it face no fear of bleeding out whatsoever.

This seems like it could be useful against the nids

Does space marines does temporary banishment ?,because i'm curious if the creation of a dedicated chapter and infrastructure to deal with outcasted will lead to more of temporary or permanent banishment as a punishment by making it a more viable/official options.
