Wonder when will it be the time to start giving our allies mechs for there own mech units, probably when Japan and the eu get there programs to put together something more threatening and Mass producible anyone else have any ideas what it could be?

I mean, I still want a full super country, but aiming for that right out of the gate when a lot of the countries in Cypac have outstanding economic and cultural issues seems a bit too high of a target to aim for to start with and we would end up screwing something up during the formation.

I mean, we're not really aiming for it "right out of the gate". By CyberEnby's calculations, it's going to take a lot of time to get there, and that's with devoting significant effort. That effort doesn't get thrown into a "become small-communist-nation-voltron" meter, it goes into specific reforms and advancements. Even once we hit that threshold, it only unlocks the ability to work directly on federating.

What I'm trying to say is, we're declaring "we want to get here one day", and that guides the options available to us. By your own admission, you want a full super country. This is how we start down that road.

1981 - H1 - The Lake Laogai Diplomatic Conference Ongoing - The ICFAM
With the signing of the Cybernetic Pact done, the ink drying and the photographs racing around the world, alongside the ripples and effects this monumental coalition of nations will have upon history, it is time to turn the attention of the attendants if the Conference to another matter: The International Congress for All Mankind.

For you, Guangchou, comes first the matter of whom to send, as that will say much about how you regard the matter.

[] [Who will be sent?] (Write-in)

Moving on. Officially, the Congress will have three "Parts" as its official program.

The first part is a general period of arrival, where diplomats and dignitaries can mingle and speak with representatives from around the world and sound out the intentions of each other. During this period, you may be able to talk with some nations you otherwise couldn't, or gain advantages for later in either the Conference or afterwards.

[] [Meet-Up] (To whom do you wish to talk/about what?)
(Tell me to which person you want to talk, and about what. I'll write that.)

The second part is a comprehensive question-and-answer session where experts, witnesses, and politicians will answer any questions about the Wolfsmenschen with full honesty. Alongside that, you will be given the chance to talk to a Lupi (as they are mostly being described as by people due to Wolfsmenschen being too unwieldy to use by most of humanity) volunteer. You are going to raise absoulte hell if that volunteer is in airquotes.

[] [Questions - Congress] (What do you want to know from Germany?)
[] [Questions - Wolfsmenschen] (What do you want to know from the Lupi which will answer your questions?)

(Like above, I will write about what you want to read. Keep it reasonable, because I will block questions I deem in bad taste or faith (of me/the thread, roast the Krauts!), alongside the general; more questions=more writing time required.)

The third, and last part will be about two votes, symbolic in nature until they are cast in the UN session taking place a few weeks after the Congress. The first vote is to recognize the Homo Lupus species as human beings, and all that such entails. The second vote is to condem and ban research into, or creation of, another species of mankind, be it by gene editing/manipulation of existing people, artificial creation via embryos, and wholesale construction of sapient beings by artificial means.

[] [Are Homo Lupus Human?] (Yes.)
[] [Ban/Condem Sapient Gene Creation] (Write-In)

It's less of whether I believe Homo Lupus are human, and whether it's ethically acceptable to think less of a species that has intelligence, empathy, and creativity that matches that of humanity.

It's not by the way. On that note, we may need to redefine what it means to be a Person as it specifically mentions human beings.

For the sake of argument here though I'd definitely go the route of Homo Lupus being human, or at the very least a sub-race of humans. Perhaps an indigenous people? Or protected tribes might be the better word here.

as long as the ability to pursue transhumanism is still untouched than yeah let vote for this and get it over with

Officially, you will hold this position in regards to the classification of the Wolfsmenschen:

Kingdom:Animalia
Phylum:Chordata
Class:Mammalia
Order:Primates
Suborder:Haplorhini
Infraorder:Simiiformes
Family:Hominidae
Subfamily:Homininae
Tribe:Hominini
Genus:Homo
Species:H. Lupus

Should defo put a stop to making new sapient species cause, yeah. No thank you.

Otherwise, I think it's important to ask the Lupus reps what they want out of all this. And then craft our policy accordingly.

Genuine question, why are we against the creation of more new sapient species?

I'm firmly on the Inhumanist/Xenofeminist camp, but I'm not sure those were a thing yet at this time.

I don't want to ban it, but I do want to require that anyone who does so makes full provisions to ensure that the new species is well supported and self sustaining. I don't want to create new oppressed ethnic groups.

It won't, unless those genes aren't inheritable by future generations or do not deviate from a certain baseline too much.

*Stares blankly before tilting their head* "I don't understand the question."
And seems to ban the creation of AI.
Lmao, that is so far out of everyones mind (and technical ability) that you'll be holding a new vote should you come close to the ability to create one in the future.
Genuine question, why are we against the creation of more new sapient species?
Dunno, that's what the Write-in is for. For you to figure out if you are for or against that sort of thing.

Genuine question, why are we against the creation of more new sapient species?

Personally, I think that setting out to increase the number of sapient species would be great, in a perfect world. But we don't live in a perfect world. We live in a world largely dominated by a capitalist hellscapethat would absolutely try and use thus to their advantage. Until such a time as we can be reasonably sure new sapients wouldn't be totally taken advantage of, we shouldn't play with that fire.

That said, the real hard stance we need to take is the guarantee that any new sapient beings created will have the full and unabridged rights of personhood.

Yeah, as much as I want bunny people next, I can agree to ban it until we can be sure the capitalists won't pull a Tyrants and make drug dependent slave races.

Herocooky, WILL THESE DO???
