Why? 100K is miniscule. Those 95k weren't full members, some just shot the shit and had some free-style sex parties thinking they were part of a secret hedonist club, not a Chaos Cult, or part of a fighting ring betting and beating each other for the thrill of it, not a Chaos Cult. Five Thousand Cultists over the decades of Cerberus' existence is a fucking miracle that would have Imperial Inquisitors start shooting people for hiding numbers and dropping entire regiments unto planets to root out the, no-doubt, neck-high levels of Chaos squirming around on said planets.

Hey now, I won't be happy until we hit single digit or lower levels of infiltration.

Chaos, not even once!

Thing is, I don't think just raising our Trait will close that off either, it'll just encourage the Chaos Gods to try harder. We don't qualify as an enemy to them yet.
I'm pretty sure they already know about us and if they do we are already enemies, weak ones of course but we are trying to make sure the Star Child is born.

The last gift of the Emperor to humanity, the only way they will be able to actually fight against Chaos. There is no way they aren't trying to annihilate us already, it is in their nature to do so.

EDIT: Oh, and on that last bit. Yeesh, the Emperor really dropped the ball there. Let them bust in and completely dictate where the Primarchs went?
you can blame Erda the primarch's gene "mother" for that shit, who thought that the best decision to make over emps deciding to not include her in their lives was helping the chaos gods to create a Warp vortex to scatter primarch's across the galaxy.

I still stand by upgrading our central trait.
4 steps left from maximum Holiness (and potentially other broken effects), and it's harder to get than any other trait. Only one other choice we could have done differently this quest to upgrade this trait (one we got the STC from).

If we want to have a chance of seeing it reach it's actual full potential in this quest, it may really be the only way.

Part of me wants to do the Thunder of the Sisters cause I just want to go harder on aircraft but the military options are honestly not worth doing since they're fluff below the mechanical level we see impacts on.

Personally despite me stating my support for Beacon I am hunger for Widespread Augmetic Production, you have no idea. I want massed cyborg soldier armies so bad.

[] Plan: Research and Growth
-[] Heavy Industry V X5
-[] Military Industry V X5
-[] Research
--[] Academic Initiatives (0/3) (2 From Actions, 1 From Research Banked)
--[] Shipyard Automatization (0/2) (1 From Actions, 1 From Research Banked)
--[] Automechanical Augmentations (1 From Action)
--[] Directional Ion Shields (1 From Action)

--[] Novel Infantry-Grade Armor Development (1 From Research Banked)
--[] Experimental Infantry-Grade Armor Development (1 From Action)
--[] Novel Infantry-Grade Weapons Development (1 From Research Banked)
--[] Logicstical Infantry-Grade Armor Development (0/3) (2 From Actions, 1 From Research Banked)

Here is my idea if 25 actions wins.

I don't think so, unless we are like told that.

How would the Inquisition reconcile the fact that we're heretics with the fact that chaos has drastically lower grip on our population?

In regards to the Milestone Trait options, the general consensus so far is:

[] Plan Lost Milestones (unfinished)
-[] A Society Dynamic, Bold, And True
--[] Civilian Warp Fleets (gain access to 3 Interstellar Trade Companies. 1 can be supported each turn to provide a bonus for that turn. Bonuses we know of are: Automated Planetary Colonization, Cost Reduction on a type of Industry Development. Also provides easier movement for civilians between planets and a greater sense of national cohesion due to more people interacting with people from other worlds more often)
--[] Logistical Production Analytica (+50% Fleet Points for ship production)
--[] ???

The third trait is still up in the air.

Laurent backs Plump And Happy And Healthy, which is a general boost to nutrition nation-wide, almost completely eliminating malnutrition in the civilian populace. This would presumably have many positive effects that are generally below the level of abstraction but will likely save us actions in the future, like the Wussies department has.

Alectai has expressed support for Widespread Augmetic Production, which improves QoL for people by making Cybernetics plentiful for replacing damaged or lost body parts. It also boosts our Military by making more injuries recoverable from, and allows us to make Cyborg Army Units, which could be anything from Skitarii knockoffs to Cyberpunk Fullborgs to XCOM MECHs.

I would personally prefer *Mad Binary Screeching*, which would give us a 0.1 Action/turn trickle into Research, so we're always working away at something in there, but I would be willing to back either of the above as well, though I prefer Augmetics slightly more.

I'm actually against this, we don't really need to have automated destroyer production that badly. I think Logistical Production Analytica is more important so we can produce more ships at once.

I respectfully disagree. I think having a steady stream of destroyers each turn, regardless of if we use an action to create more ships, is a much more powerful and important upgrade to our capabilities. We will always need more destroyers, especially as we start expanding into multiple sectors at one time. And don't get me wrong, I would love to get Logistical Production Analytica too, but I just don't agree that it is as advantageous to us as having a steady automated stream.

Also on a completely unrelated note: @HeroCooky has the inclusion of the Kil'drabi done anything to change the formation of the Star Child within the warp? Now that it is no longer being solely worshipped by humans, I want to assume that the philosophical, moral, and even physical aspects of Kin would have some sort of impact on its growing form.

Glimmerlings going full Southern Church mode on would-be Chaos Cult leaders is something I didn't know I needed until now.

I will dare to ask @HeroCooky does getting to All-5 qualify as a milestone worthy of free 4th action?

Because it's 5, our sacred number. That's why.

Binary Screeching is too weak to bother with imo. A 1 point free research at random every ten turns just feels underwhelming. Better to just pencil in actually doing research

But we don't do that, do we? There's always something more important happening. Even if the trickle is slow, it's still there, and running, even if we don't have the time or interest to spare investing actions, we'll still be working away at research.

I don't expect it to win out over the other two options, but I feel like people are underselling the value of automatic anything in this quest. Look at the Psykana ticker, that thing has been a godsend for keeping the Melodies trickling out. I don't think we've actually invested into a new melody for over a century at this point, but our repotoir continues to grow and upgrade regardless.

I voted for heretek screeching under the false assumption that we would be able to devote a lot more actions towards tech then we could, And I had underestimated how BAD the Action crunch ends up being when we only have 3. I really do regret not having gone for mad binary, Because even a small amount of residual progress would have done wonders for our research list.

Part of the reason I am leaning towards the Trio of traits is because its a chance to pick up Mad binary and the Shipbuilding 50% Increase

My Soul Has Seen The Glory Of The Coming Of Our Star...

What could it give? No selling lesser daemons permanently. Could it protect Eldar from Slaneash? Nah, it would be too OP. Maybe as an all-XV reward.

Why would the Star Child protect the eldar, and besides the trait has three more levels after this if we get it.

Given that this is after step one of actually birthing the Star Child, and it refers to it as an actual force they've felt, I assume it'll boost the Fed's chaos resistance to moderate levels, letting them no-sell corruption from, say, direct lesser demon exposure but not their more direct murdery attacks, and on top of that allow access to some faith casting. You really have to tone your expectations down a couple notches. I'm sure this will be about as valuable as any three V traits, but mostly in the sense it'll let us continue piledriving Chaos' cheats into the ground, not that it'll change the face of the entire setting.
