Has anyone thought about selling our excess weapons to the rearming French and British? We just came out of a Civil War so there surely are too many weapons lying around and the Franco-British alliance seems to be preparing for a show-down against the Astro-Russian alliance thus it stands to reason that they would need weapons.

We could also sing a treaty with the scandinavian countries recognising present borders and national water, that might ease tensions thus delaying the war for some time while we rebuild the Republic.

Denmark and Sweden are permanently hostile thanks to events last quest, and if they're pried loose from the Imperial bloc will immediately attach to the Constitutional bloc because they fucking hate Germany specifically.

Admittedly, I didn't read the civil war from the last quest so I assumed that France and Britain were neutral towards us.

On the other hand, I thought that Denmark feared us rather than hated us. If I remember correctly they became hostile towards germany because the players forced them to release the german part of Schleswig-Holstein. The danish apparently saw this as a prelude to being annexed by Germany, right?

I would never accuse you of such a thing. I simply set a challenge for someone to talk about or vote for a platform that wasn't vanguard communist or progressive independent. And to punish me for my hubris, the material spirit of history reached down and ensured that the first thing that met these criteria was you. Voting for a purge platform.

Exactly right. The Civil War was won by Jacobins and Communists both. I will remind everyone that the Jacobins were the ones mopping the floor with their opponents all over the place, and they are the ones who held the most territory at the end of it. I was the Bannerman, but that shit failed and here we are, in a country where VanComs and Jacobins are but parts of the winning coalition in a broken country.

While I just know I'll regret this, I'm also 6 beers and 3 glasses of wine into my Masters graduation weekend, so here we go despite my better judgement!

I distinctly recall the UF wiping the floor with the NatGov after their rather ill-fated winter offensive blew up in their faces, but go off.

In any case, I don't really see why a Jacobin would want to support a plan that had a plank that would have de-facto handed over a lot of control of essential industry right over to the perfidious monarchists in Britain and France. That's what we were objecting to. The Jacobins are liberals but they're revolutionary liberals who hate monarchists a lot more than they like markets.

I get using capitalism to destroy capitalism, but I think letting them get into the country even if it is technically for our benefit is to much, they could subvert us instead of the other way. We are not China and we are not in the same situation.

Seek alternate avenues for free yet active pursuit of foreign trade prosperity with the Constitutional Socialists!

We, like the anarchists, work to internationalize worker co-ops. After all, the victories in this fair worker-farmer-soldier democracy of ours need not be spread solely by the sword!

I actually like the internals of this one more, but i maintain that well well need a détente with the western powers to be able to deal with any of our other enemies.

Detente with the Franco-British bloc is already the de facto diplomatic situation right now - they're trading with us and all (see in the list of countries we have trade agreements with and the UK & Low Countries are among em). Contrast the Imperial League practically disallowing us from Baltic Sea commerce.

Edit: Italy, which used to be our ally until we get serious about anti-monarchism (They have a not-inconsiderable republican element in their politics), is also still held by trade agreements with us
