Springtime of Nations II: A European Republic Quest

Whether Austria wishes to be part of Germany is a question for the Austrian people.
They'll probably go for it though, between pan-nationalism and Viennese workers and intellectuals being the main target of our agitation since halfway through the last thread.

Anyway I think we run disruption against the Russians over the winter while we rebuild our shell supply, then hit them in the rest of Poland and head for Budapest with the Italians.

Can't tell if negotiating and then saying no would be better than just saying no, but I think it might be in order to grant our forces in Galicia a respite and allow us to rebuild our material stockpiles for a new attack come spring and summer.
I'd prefer to not waste the clear operational advantage we have in Russia during the winter (counter-intuitive as it may seem) following them losing a m i l l i o n men this turn. I want to at least take Koenigsberg, finish off the Baltic fleet for good.

I mean, we can always reject the peace deal if it doesn't appeal to us. We were going to rest up anyways during the winter, considering we've completely spent our war materiel reserves. Plus, just completely rejecting any peace deal without a second thought look bad for our international standing, which DOES matter.

Oh there was more. Voting with the bloodthirsty this time because we've got Russia on an obvious backfoot, and I don't want to let them buy time even if we intentionally tank the negotiations.

After the QM @Etranger confirmed Austria is on the table we can negotiate imo. We might have a shot at getting a good peace that leaves the rump-Austrian Empire instable enough for them to collapse on their own.

A winter cease-fire benefits us more than it benefits the League. The League's problems are structural, they are not going to solve them in three months so in Spring they will still be weak, on the other hand, Germany has a momentary problem (lack of war material) which can be solved (to some degree) in 3 months.

I don't think they'll let us have Austria AND Poland, and I think we can ill afford to give the Russian army a break at this point.

Russia explicitly needs a reprieve after their failed offensive, and it sounds like Austria is desperate putting all they can to a new defensive line, giving them more time to prepare it seems a bad idea.
