Choking Austria to death is the way to go now that we've firmly established that the Russian army is categorically incapable of dislodging the Landwehr from cities we've captured.

I don't think we can expect to be taking Moscow anytime soon. An "Austria First" strategy does seem like the better option here.

Do people realize how long of a salient we'd be making by going for Lvov? By stretching ourselves thin like that, the League and in particular Russia can leverage their superior numbers to encircle us. We've been doing well so far, so let's not throw away all our gains on the Eastern front. Warsaw is still a great target, and it'll cripple the Russians.

Yeah, it's important to remember that we were able to fend off the Russians while we had a numerical advantage in the theater. We are currently outnumbered, Lvov is a salient exposed to both Russian and Austrian attacks, and the Russians still have an intact logistics network to allow them to effectively concentrate their forces.

It was also noted in the update that while the Russians were unable to push us out of any cities over the winter they did manage to push our lines back a bit—it's not as though we win everything forever because of machine guns and barbed wire. The Russians will undoubtedly need to spill an ocean of blood to retake the city but frankly they can pay that price.
