Well I just hope this won't hurt the this story community tea, though I guess it would be the authors authori tea to do something about this, since it would be his responsibili tea.
 
we're discussing teanagers with powers that have steep learning curves and lizard shenanigans as they bag baddies across the multeaverse so puns are expected

My sympathy, visual disturbances are no fun at all. It might be possible to get so tired some of the front-end of your visual system shuts-down...

That happens to me on occasion reading on this site with the Dark schema. The lines of alternating light (the lines of text) and dark (space between text-lines) produces afterimages that look like scanlines for a while. It usaully goes away if you stare at something monochrome for a bit. I use the wall to the left of my monitor. ^^

I suspect in my case it's likely due to the fact I'd been sick as a dog, and possibly borderline dehydrated as a result.
