The horizon line is just under 5 km. I know the sharingan is bullshit, but that seems a bit much even for that. At least for an eye that's more about analyzing and memorizing chakra (and other things) than super vision, anyway. Hinata's byakugan was able to see 10 (or 5?) km, I think. Not sure.
They're significantly above sea level, but Hisana is sensing the chakra signatures with her senor abilities, not seeing it with her Sharingan.

Huh, I only recently noticed the Hisana fanart. All this time I've been thinking she would resemble the Amira, the woman who Tekomander uses as an avatar. lol

The coast attack is a lot of shock but seems to be taking it easy? They're doing a lot of suppressive fire rather than decisive, despite being functionally immune to attacks with the mist.
It feels like a diversion for the town raid

Well, as awesome and badass as Amira is she has too much dangling jewelry on her all the time, which doesn't combine very well with Hisana´s signature extreme speed parkour...

And really to draw someone with the amount of detail of Amira, you need a genius/crazy person like Miss Mori.

Missiles and jet engines? These fuckers have been holding back. Whoever transmigrated had a lot of technical knowledge and a long, long time to set up. Heck, they might've died of old age a while ago. This could be a full on invasion force, here to get a foothold on this continent.

Filler this is not.

Say, has Sasuke actually been learning to use Tobiramas lightning sword? I vaguely recalled he picked it up but don't think it's been mentioned since.

Welp. I believe it is safe to say we are witnessing the fall of Sea Country. Whoever the Camo Cloaks are, they are clearly intending to make Sea Country a foothold into the region.

I wish we knew who they actually were. As is, we don't know if this is a prelude to an invasion, colonization, a shot at the stone of gelel or what. One thing's for certain, a Kage Summit is guaranteed to happen in response to this, we might even end up with a Fourth War happening over two years early against a different enemy.

Woops, missed that. Thanks.

It was just implied we're about due for the second Naruto movie (since the first one is a thing here too). The one with the Knights and puppet army from across the ocean. The camo cloaks might be from that nation or a different one over there.

Given the Trenchcoats want to Preserve Canon At All Costs, I wonder what they'll have to say about this...

Ngl this was very cool. And the camo cloaks are much more threatening than I gave them credit for. It's clear that they are not jsut copying and repurposing modern technology, but instead improving on it by merging it with chakra tech to overclock it. Camo cloaks are actually pretty scary becasue if they have a nation backing them, with such high level research and development team, they can field mechanized forces that are on par with A to S class ninja.

In fact here comparing it to konoha's warfare system is inappropriate, as this really is an out of context scenario. Vulcan autocannon barges that maneuver like jet fighters at ground level are actually prefect for taking on ninja mooks, and can be fielded in numbers that surpass chunin, so they can't really be countered with a war of scales or economy anymore.

one thing that i want to mention about this update is that the samurai were really cool. The mental image of super enhanced and armored samurai battle lines fighting on par with hyper advanced chakra-based scifi gunships is just awesome. It has almost a grim dark 40k vibe in terms of the aestetic of the flow of battle. Powerful, armoured, extremely fast mobile gunships and landers, with rotary canons are just so cool.

Likewise the mental image of groups of these things screaming out of the mist and zooming over the trenches, and also the fire Ninjutsu vs missiles, and the railgun bombardment, it's all so damn epic.

I'm actually quite concerned about our odds in this battle. It's clear that the camo cloaks don't mess around and that their resource advantage gives them a lot of tricks up their sleeve in the form of powerful technology. For all we know they have a chakra powered laser point defense AA gun or something on one of those warships.

We probably will need to use trickery and deception if we want to survive and protect our teammates from forces that are at least similar to a modern fully industrialized military force.

It is one of the few shinobi advantages that this opponent can't match except with overall deployment orders. That and widescale ninjutsu, but they might have the range advantage on us. I don't know how close we can approach to let off strong ninjutsu without being vaporized by hypersonic projectiles.

Actually this is one of the things that i've always wanted to see how ninja stack up against. Like, stealth and trickery is an option but if that fails, how good are ninja at adapting to modern arms and explosives? Are we too small to aim at at our speeds or do the camo cloaks have some sort of advaned Infrared camera or radar tech or something lol. Irl, AA missiles and guns can shoot supersonic missiles out of the sky even when they are quite evasive, but does that match Hisana's evasiveness?

I'm pretty hyped for the next update rn.

I'm starting to think the Camo Cloaks aren't transmigrants, at least not the way Hisana or the Trenchcoats are. I suspect the Camo Cloaks are an independent nation, either on another continent or on an alternate Earth, which developed chackra, but instead of falling into the 'ninja' paradigm they fell into the 'industrialized warfare' paradigm and adapted to that. The similarity to IRL military tech isn't because they are merging chackra with tech supplied by someone from our Earth, but because of convergent evolution - form follows function.

Might be cool to work with them to help fight off the militarized invasion force. I'm sure that if there's one thing they hate more than meddling self inserts that have weeb anime aesthetics, it's meddling self inserts who have western military aesthetics. The fact that they have S-class forces on their side might actually make them a major boon in any kind of protracted war agaisnt a more mechanized, mass produced, larger scale opponent.

Though there's always the risk of them sticking their heads in the sand by ignoring the invasion before it's too late, as a full mobilization to fight them off would mess up canon even more so. Might need some talk no justu assistance from naruto if that occurs. I'm sure that the trenchcoats have a tragic backstory or something that can be referenced and compared to.

I actually question if the trench coats are actually canon cultists or if they are just pretending to be. Now, that's not to say that they don't have some interest in fighting the cloaks or trying to keep the situation at least vaguely resembling canon but I don't think that they are actually obsessed about it. I also don't know how many S ranks they have other than that during the invasion they had at least one.

WHAT. THE FUCK. WAS THAT!?

Just thought of another chakra exercise. A variant of wall walking. Saw it in a fanfic once, chakra sliding. Rolling your chakra along the soles of your feet to slide along the ground. Not sure how useful it would be outside of training. Maybe to help her turn on a dime if she needs to? Like stepping on a surface, then as well as strengthening her leg with chakra, she also grips the ground with chakra and rolls it in the direction she wants to move.

Sounds like we can add an ISOT to the isekai clusterfuck

Ah.

:V

In other news we have some idea why Orochimaru bailed so fast; sonofabitch must have seen the invasion coming.

Get a full look at the invasion force
Konoha Intelligence will thank you.

[x] Try and get the measure of the Camo Cloak forces here, before retreating westward and then out to sea. Clearly, they need space before they can summon flying mounts and depart.

Actually, that's a good point. Orochimaru running is why we're here. So the forces attacking must've been here. Which would mean that all this, the ships, the guns, the flyers, the missiles, they were all here.

They already set themselves up on some island around here. This is just them going loud and making it clear who runs this place now.

We really need to make it a priority to look at the stuff we've captured. They're clearly here for a war.

Anyway, I think watching the Samurai for a bit along with anything else they fight while traveling back to town should be enough information. This is also the kinda stuff that intelligence wants now. We already know why orochimaru ran, the mission is over. We have no real reason to fight this force unless we think team seven will win against this army.
