Imagine the SI reaction once he looked into a mirror for the first time...

But I disagree, if the SI knew anything about Naruto at all, then he knows that by the time of the merging Danzo has already screwed up big time and that there is basically nothing that he can do to make things better.

No matter what the SI does his previous self has already killed the loved ones of loads of overpowered S-Class Ninjas that far outclass Danzo in terms, of intelligence, resources, and power and is rightfully hated by basically everyone... So the only way of surviving is to double, triple, and quadruple down in the Original Danzo's strategy of remaining alive by surrounding himself with loads of powerful shinobis to serve as his personal meatshield...

Nah, his only path of survival is faking his death and moving on to an other continent. And would you look at that: he already has a big-ass explosion seal on his belly...

Well, I'd like to do subtle, but given the team we have:

[x] Flashy - arrive on a summoned raven. Hisana needs to keep up the prestige of Konoha, and this will do that. It will also attract attention.

We got the taijutsu training scene, but what about the BSVT and Lightning Blood Seal? Did the training on those happen off scene? What are the changes Hisana achieved on those ?

Canonically the opposition on this mission were three Amegakure Genin under Jounin Aoi Rokushō.

If this stays the same, they'll be hilariously outmatched.

Even the Jounin was more one because he sold secrets of Konoha to Amegakure than because of his skill.

But he has the drop: Sword of the Thunder God, a sword originally owned by the second hokage.
It's essentially a lightning light saber. It comes with a lot of abilities to manipulate lightning.

But it's true power is only available if you got to read a scroll which explained how, and the guy hadn't gotten it.

Canonically it was destroyed by a chidori+rasengan combo from Sasuke and Naruto, because unlike a light saber it's actually solid.

For reference: This guy is why I added 'without counting movies' as a disclaimer when I said just-promoted-Kakashi was the weakest Jounin in canon.

The only even remotely threatening thing about him is the Sword of the Thunder God that he carries around, skill wise he's maybe Chunin level.

I'm gonna assume there'll be adjustments made for the quest, otherwise the fight will be about three seconds long and end with 'and then Hisana (literally) disarmed him'. :V

Give the sword to sasuke since i doubt hell be getting kusanagi in this timeline other than as loot from orochi should boost his lightning ninjutsu and give him incentive to learn kenjutsu.

Hisana can probably still murk him even with a buff, she punches way higher then she has any right to.

Can't take a hit, but speed is armor if you're fast enough.

In a way I'm kinda disappointed that Sasuke avoided his second round of Tsukuyomi because it means he won't have gotten a refresher on this:
Around then she noticed the bodies. Not just a couple of bodies, but dozens and dozens killed in every manner imaginable. A few looked like they'd been able to put up a fight, but most of them seemed to have died running. Mary panicked - she knew intellectually that these kinds of things happened, but to her they'd been constrained to the pages of a history textbook or a news report. They didn't happen here.

She scrambled backwards on too powerful limbs, kicking up dirt. She was at once utterly unfamiliar and familiar with her own body, a stranger and herself. Fire burned in the distance, and she could smell something she told herself was cooking meat, because that meant that it wasn't the smell of burning corpses. Because people aren't meat, aren't left to burn where they fell.
Hisana woke up on the ground surrounded by corpses. If Sasuke he got hit with a second round of Tsukuyomi then he'd have had been paying attention to Hisana and seen what happened here.

Incidentally I wonder what changed in this timeline because this:
"Is everything okay?" she asked. He seemed fine - happy, almost. Hisana still felt a nagging worry, though. How could he be fine after meeting Itachi again?

"It's fine!" Sasuke snapped, and Hisana merely raised an eyebrow. "I am - I'm fine. He didn't get me the way he got sensei. Naruto did something to call Jiraiya, and he ran away rather than fight him,"
doesn't actually work as an explanation. You see Jiraiya was already there when Sasuke and Itachi fought, at least in the anime. Sasuke insisted on Jiraiya, and later Naruto, not interfering with his fight. It was only after Itachi curbstomped Sasuke that Jiraiya got involved. Even then Jiraiya only actually got involved because Naruto said screw this and charged Itachi once Sasuke fainted.

I'm guessing here Sasuke either didn't tell them to stay out of it or Naruto decided to ignore Sasuke. Unlike canon the two have been friends for years to the point they live in the same house and are basically brothers. On top of that Sasuke's vengeance has never been his vengeance here; he has always had to share it with Hisana. So he probably never got caught up in the idea he and he alone is responsible for taking down Itachi. This is the change that lead to Jiraiya getting involved earlier and thus no Tsukuyomi.

Face it, this is team seven. Subtle was never an option :D

Not necessarily, recall that in canon Obito was also involved in the massacre. It's still a Genjutsu, not a direct memory, Itachi is only showing what he wants to show.

I... Think you might be misremembering? As I recall, Itachi and Kisame skedaddled the moment Jiraiya showed up. He showed up late because they lured him away with a Genjutsu'd pretty lady, and his entrance involved turning the battleground into a toad stomach.

I can't check right this moment, but I really don't think he would hang back and let Sasuke throw down with Itachi, that sounds like an excellent way to get him killed.

And probably Naruto as well, you really do not play around with ninja of Itachi's calibre.

I'd think the difference here is that Naruto is said to have called Jiraiya somehow, which he couldn't do in canon. Jiraiya got there sooner, so less trauma for Sasuke.

Nope; I literally pulled up the episode (which is why I specified anime since it could be different in the manga) since I was going to double check the details of Itachi's Tsukuyomi only to be shocked to see Jiraiya already there. I watched both that episode and the end of the previous one to be sure before posting. Things played out exactly as I described.

That is really weird. And dumb.

Well regardless:

The difference here is explicitly that Naruto called Jiraiya somehow.

We have a cool new title now, let's lean into it and help it grow now. We don't look intimidating enough to rely purely on our reputation anyways. We're short, and so are our teammates .
