[X] Rounding Out Alt V2
-[x] - Paperless exploding tags seem like a very useful skill, and one that you might be able to develop.
-[x] - Try and create a system of parallel storage arrays instead of one central one for your Final Hurricane Seal
-[x] - Learn some of the jutsu you've copied with your Sharingan (See character sheet)
-[x] - Learn Wind Release techniques from the Ravens
--[x] - focus at least partially on defensive and countering techniques against other Wind attacks, against lightning, sand, projectiles, and if possible fire.

[X] Plan the blade
-[x] - Try and create a system of parallel storage arrays instead of one central one for your Final Hurricane Seal
-[x] - Improve the ranged aspect of your chakra flow
-[x] - Try and utilize your fuinjutsu knowledge to improve your sword.
-[x] - Learn more Sharingan genjutsu

You guys shouldn't split the votes for the "plan the blade" or "I STUDIED THE BLADE!" if you want a chance of actually winning.

Anyway, Neji is still going to be a dick since he didn't get that talk from Naruto and Naruto's fist planted on his face, Lee is a beast still but maybe he learned something when he was crippled that he will never learn again(I doubt this), Gaara seems like he's trying to hard to be Gaara if that is a thing, and we're facing a windjutsu specialist.

We gotta go fast to beat Tenmari. To0 bad we are hilariously lethal and cutting her in half in front of everyone would be frowned upon. That's going to really gimp us in a fight >.<

The exam matchups seem less important than what might happen after. Obviously we want the less all-in hurricane seal, but other than that, I don't see the appeal in preparing just for possible matchups rather than generally. Paperless seals, raven wind jutsu, etc all seem better in a general context.

Since my own suggestions didn't seem to impress him.
Aww, don't say that. I only saw them now, and was totally impressed by the good work you do.

However...

I'm sure votes for same plans with different names will be merged together. Seems unnecessarily mean to do otherwise.

Naruto then beat Choji in a jovial contest, and after that Hinata defeated Kankuro. After Karin defeated a genin from Waterfall she'd never heard of before,

Hisana was due to fight Temari in the opening match, Hinata was due to face Tenten after, then Karin against Lee, then a fifteen year old from Suna named Gennai against Shikamaru, then Shino against Sasuke. Lastly, Naruto was to face Gaara. Even though she was concerned by that, Hisana was also glad that the famous Talk-No-Jutsu might have a chance. Gaara could be reformed, and if he was he became Konoha - and Naruto's - most steadfast ally.

Maybe I'm missing something...but does the genin count in the finals seem off?

The update mentions a Waterfall genin losing in the prelims and a Sand genin that isn't from the Sand Sibling team making it to the finals. That would mean there's two teams of OC's in the prelims.

Team 7 (3)
Team 8 (3)
Team 9? (think it was 9...Kiba and two OC's, anyway), (3)
Team 10 (3)
Team Gai (3)
Team Kabuto (minus Kabuto...) + Karin (3)
Sand Siblings (3)
OC Sand team (3)
OC Waterfall team (3)

That's 27. There being 12 finalists indicate that 24 genin, or 8 teams, made it to the prelims.

Of course, it's a simple enough fix. Just drop one of the OC teams and change either the Waterfall to a Sand or the Sand finalist to someone from Waterfall.

Edit: Oops. I realized that could have been entirely intentional. Three of the OC's could have dropped out, or there was a drop out (besides Kabuto) and a double knock out. That works too.

You know, if we want senjutsu, and I do, then there's a natural solution

[X] Plan be a sword sage
-[x] - Try and create a system of parallel storage arrays instead of one central one for your Final Hurricane Seal
-[x] - Try and utilize your fuinjutsu knowledge to improve your sword.
-[x] - Improve the ranged aspect of your chakra flow
-[X] Ask Ravens about senjutsu, and spend the available time doing whatever they tell you to get to start learning it.

Choose Four Projects to do during the one month break between the second and third exams. Kakashi will be teaching you things, but alternating with Sasuke. This is what you work on when he's not teaching you.
Okay, our fight with Orochimaru's clone rubbed it into our face that if we lose our sword, we can be manhandled pretty badly.
We have no hold-out techniques to fall back on. Our taijutsu is subpar(by our standards, anyway).

Chakra metal blades do not exactly lie around; if we lose our sword on a battlefield, our standard techniques become much more expensive chakra wise.
And it's canon for Naruto that a lot of swords get wrecked without special measures: Naruto and Sasuke broke the Sword of the Thunder God in the anime, Kakashi's White Light Chakra Sabre got broken by the Iwa-jounin Kakko, and Ei broke Zabuza's Kubikiribocho when Suigetsu took it to the Kage Summit.

VOTE

REASONS
Fuinjutsu
Parallel storage arrays are a no-brainer; better chakra storage improves our combat endurance.
Paperless exploding tags are a holdout weapon, against the next person who attempts to hold Hisana by her neck. And have utility use against mobs as well.

Kenjutsu
Sealing up our sword to make it that much tougher means it's less likely to get broken in combat, leaving us unarmed and much weaker.
And there are other things possible, like making it blunt on command, or giving it attack capabilities, though that's up to the GM.

Ninjutsu
Yoroi's Chakra Drain Technique>>>>Chidori >>> Water Release Gunshot Barrage >>Everything else.

Learning some of the techniques we copied gives us something to use against Temari without exposing a major trump in front of a stadium full of people.
Specifically, Temari knows that we are a Wind user and genjutsu user, and will come prepared for it. There are a LOT of Wind users in Suna, and her other brother uses poisons, which suggests she'll have a certain awareness of what altered perceptions are like.

Assuming she doesn't show up with some combat drug; same skills for making poisons after all.

We've shown no particular talent for taijutsu, and we can't use our sword without ganking her.
Similarly, blowing her up is bad for diplomatic relations.
Chakra Drain allows us to win non-lethally without showing our hand too much.

Chidori is a Lightning technique, which is excellent against Earth-using Zetsu clones, as well as Gaara's sand if necessary. We ARE supposed to be thinking beyond the exams after all.
Gunshot Barrage is a homing technique we can use for Fire and Wind as well as Water. Given how a ninja's first defense is dodge, an attack that partially circumvents that is pretty useful
