On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

"I've done more in a century than you have in five, you hidebound oaf!"
Snorri's influence on the Northern runesmiths is starting to appear...

Few have done it, become Runelords so, so very young, and yet all who have had become legends.
You would prove them correct, a journeyman in 20 years, a master in 60 and the vaunted rank of Runelord in only a short 180 years?
Assuming Snorri got apprenticed at 30, that makes him a journeyman at 50, a master at 110, and a runelord at 290. Even younger than Snerra.

Legends.

Yes, Snorri. Please keep understating your achievements.

Also... With such a short apprenticeship, it's it any wonder that the spirit of inquiry is a strong in him?

[X][Figure]: Tall one.

*Shrugs*

The Tall one choice sounds good for this this I suppose. Although I'm not really sure who these four are.

Also, thanks for the amazing update and keep up the good work mate!

[X][Figure]: Shapely one.

Oh hey, an update.

Time to reread the entire quest.

Again.

I reread things alot, when I can't find something new that takes my fancy. Never slow down, never stop reading!

[X][Figure]: Hunched one.
"You overstep boy! Arrogance! Arrogance so blatant that it is like coal dust upon a bleached woollen shirt! It is an insult to put those Runes such as those alongside works far better made, they are the words of a fool! An up jumped Rune of Flame and a butchered Master Rune of Conduction are all I see!" a particularly aged Runelord, Thorek Stonefoot your mind helpfully supplies, shouts. SImultaneously rising from his chair and pointing a finger at the Master Rune of Forgeflame especially.

...was this guy here?
It is an odd thing, to realize that a Master Rune was actually the easier of the two Runes you made. Then you realize it's because the Rune in question is a Rune you had uncovered by accident several centuries ago as a young lad of only three centuries, experimenting with your first forays into the realm of true Runecraft.

Ah good times.

But back to the Rune in question, it had come to you like the payload of a Bolt Thrower through the skull of a Cygor, that a Rune you had simply considered one of the many failures and lesser variations in the search for a proper Rune perfectly suited your needs here and now. Derived from the Master Rune of Conduction and your desire to, childishly you must now admit, create an axe with a finely honed edge of literal flame and power, the Rune was only capable of transferring an admittedly incredible amount of heat. The cost however, was that the strength of the effect was inversely proportional to the area it had to cover. And as another downside, seemingly sucked up all the heat of a room or defined space.

In short, useless for anything longer than a chisel's edge, prohibitively costly, disruptive and only damned further by the fact that the standard Master Rune of Conduction proved perfectly adequate in the tasks it could fill.

A failure you had thought all those centuries ago, another closed path on the long journey towards mastery.

But here and now?

The newly named Master Rune of Forgeflame was perfectly suited for your needs.
Back when younger Snorri tried?

Also sounds like the outrage was based on thinking that Snorri thinks himself a peer to the Ancestors? That only the Ancestors are worthy of teaching their works to everyone?
After what feels like an eternity, they eventually look away and the rumbling voice begins again.

"Knowledge has been given freely and without insult intended. Take it or dismiss it at your own discretion, as has ever been your right.

Which is a thing Thungni had quite publicly busted.

I laughed when usually eternally calm Snorri's composure cracked so hard when he was insulted he called the offending Runelord a close-minded idiot unfit for his station and challenged him to a fist fight right then and there.

Snorri certainly knows how to make an impression every Grand Conclave.
