I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Another thing I'd like to do before we build the Adamant Gronti is to make a fair few other Gronti. Because one it would be weird if the only Gronti we built before this thing is the Miner and the Maiden.

For two I would like to upgrade the Mind for Constructs trait by putting the trait/knowledge to use the same way we upgraded Productivity Like no Other by going all out on the Underway.

In Warhammer there's always something dangerous enough to hurt you. If we're going to make a Grimnir Gronti, we better give it a runed armor to make it as difficult to hurt as possible.

Before making the Grimnir Gronti, I want to finish up The Movement of Things Pt 4, which gives the Deep Earth connection and The Rune Metal Pt. 5, which I hope gives access to T5 "Adamant" (maybe that's finally True Gromril).

Then make the Skeleton out of that T5 material (8 Bars needed)
 
Wouldn't armor be included in the overall construction? Like I cant imagine a grimnir gronti not having armor. I.e there isn't a separation between armor and body of the gronti

Hm, I was kind of thinking how we could fit that in the runes on the body itself, or talisman, but yeah, that's a fair point.

Yeah, that is what the option in votes says. The skin of the gronti would be shaped into warplate, instead of actual skin. Which, i thought, might prevent MRune of Waking from reaching its full potential. Because warplate for a skin is not actually very anatomically accurate.

I also wouldn't say its frivolous. It just lets us stick even more runes on that baby.

There can be if we want to and if we do that's another three runes we can use.

I'm in the camp that thinks T5 Gromril will be insanely limited in amount so I doubt that's viable.
 
Yeah giving it T5 gromril is overkill even for me, and i am the one who always brings up full adamant Grimnir :V
 
I don't think putting Valaya runes on the grimnir gronti is very appropriate. For lack of a better word. If we are going to make a grimnir themed gronti the runes should be focused on pure martial ability. Cause valaya runes are mostly focused on healing and negating enemy magic IIRC. Neither of which would be useful on a grimnir gronti

I'm pretty curious whether T5 is going to be Glimril, and it's so strong it can only be made and worked in small scale sized pieces (or maybe Glimril is just another name for Adamant), or that crystal whose name is hard to spell.

Maybe it's both, and one is a byproduct of making the other, or we'll be able to choose one or the other by doing different things during the refining process.

Either way, it'd probably be a good reagent, and maybe it would work on one of the runes we're putting on the Grimnir Gronti even if we have only a miniscule quantity.
 
For a Grimnir-themed gronti, I'd like to know more about the Runes of Warding and other anti-Chaos stuff. Because the other critical aspect of Grimnir aside from fighting and warfare is flipping the bird to the Four and all their minions.

The rune of warding probably synergizes more with Valaya in her protector role. Maybe the rune of Daemonslaying for Grimnir?

You're obviously right that armour wouldn't inherently make the thing any more survivable, but in fairness to robot crew, Snorri did discover recently that a more faithful and complete depiction of a flesh-and-blood dwarf makes for a stronger robot. When he built the newest golem he didn't make a sculpture of a woman in armour; instead he made a mostly-accurate sculpture of a nude woman and then made separate armour and clothing pieces to layer overtop. Presumably this robot obeys the same rules and would in fact be stronger if it had realistic adamant abs and wore an adamant breastplate over them, even before you take the added rune space into account.

You could still make the robot first and come back for the armour later of course, and personally I actually think it would be hilarious for a naked adamant man to be running around making all the boys feel inadequate, but I kinda suspect I'm in the minority on that one and most posters would prefer to have the armour ready before the killbot's first public outing
 
I don't think we've had an instance yet of the actual adamant part of anything we've made take a scratch. Otrek got banged up but his armor was spotless and Snorri was getting hit through the durability buff but BA was untouched. So like a solid adamant gronti probably requires something beyond physical force to hurt. Magic protection is probably for the talisman or banner though and the armor if we make some for it should really just be aimed at making it more killy. Could also just give it pure gromril armor and it would even work since Grimnir was probably more durable than his actual armor lol.

For the runes, I figure MWaking and rune of Grimnir are a given, not sure for the third. There's always might I suppose.

Speaking of I was actually thinking of giving it an upscaled version of the current King set combo. Meteorfall Axe, Gimlis belt, and instead of a pyrestrike cloak give it an MInferno Armor set.

Though honestly I'd prefer it have a MValaya Armor set to protect it from magical fuckery. Maybe an inverted Ancestors Aegis combo of MValaya, Grungni, Spellbreaking.

And for the body I was thinking MWaking(T4 Troll Heart), Grimnir(Skyking Feather), Might(something). Keep it simple.
