Highschool of the Dead?

Kamijou stumbled through the gates at the front of the school. No one paid much attention, though they looked concernedly at the boy who had only recently recovered from serious hospitalization. He didn't have his crutches with him, but still managed to avoid falling down, so everyone remained warily cautious — ready to aid him if necessary, but not embarrassing him by invading his personal space.
One girl, however, approached him with a ready smile, green hair waving in the breeze. She leaned close and whispered a morning greeting before moving to surreptitiously help support him.
Homura watched all this from an upstairs window, drearily considering the implications this would have on Sayaka's stability. It had happened far too often, and Homura had yet to figure out a way to snap the younger magus out of her grief spiral.
In fact, from the way that the boy seemed to be hugging Hitomi — in public no less — the Sayaka of this loop was going to be worse than usual.
That was when she realized she could hear a faint screaming, as she watched Hitomi collapse to the ground in a pool of blood.
---
Most of the students scattered immediately when they saw the assault, and those who didn't see were dragged along by their friends. Only the foolishly brave remained to try to stop the bizarre assailant.
Naturally that number included Sayaka.
"Kamijou! What are you doing? What— What did you do to Hitomi?" she screamed, eyes frozen on the bloody face of the boy she had given her soul to heal. He didn't look too healthy right now.
Instead, he continued shambling forward, seemingly now focused on the blue-haired girl in front of him. Sayaka continued to try to reason with him, but some primal, instinctive fear kept her stumbling backwards even as she talked. It was only when she saw Hitomi start to drag herself to her feet that Sayaka lost her own footing, stumbling to the ground.
"Hitomi!" twin voices shouted out. Sayaka, confused, managed to twist her head to see Madoka rushing out of the school building behind her. That was enough distraction for Kamijou to finally lurch forward, grabbing her arm in a deathy strong grip and leaning his face forward, ichorous jaws opening wide directly in front of her eyes.

'Tomoe-san!'
Mami's head jerked up at the sudden, urgent telepathic call from the rival magical girl. She seemed to continually interfere in Mami's business, yet somehow always retained a sense of emotional distance. That made the surge of panic that she felt right now extremely disconcerting.
'What is it, Akemi-san?' she replied, keeping her voice calm.
'He— It— Attack! Front gate!' The other girl seemed so agitated that she couldn't even form a coherent sentence.
Mami frowned, but stood up and made her way out into the hallway. School hadn't started yet, so she could take the time to determine the cause of this strange disturbance. As she walked through the school, she started to notice an unsettling feeling among the students she passed, many of whom had nervous looks in their eyes, and were quietly whispering to others while keeping watch out.
Mami increased her pace, finally reaching a corner where she could see the front of the school grounds.
Below on the lawn, students were running in all directions, clearly in a panic, but with no obvious cause. In the distance she could see— yes, Sayaka, seated on the ground while a young boy charged at her. As he grabbed her, there was a sudden flash of light. Sayaka had actually transformed, in public!
And then, a fraction of a second later as the boy leaned down into her face, she simply vanished. Slight movement showed Sayaka standing next to Homura several yards away, Sayaka holding her arm in pain. They quickly dashed back into the building and out of Mami's immediate sight.

Kyouko kicked the body off the end of her spear, leaning back against the alley wall. Today sucked.
It had started out pretty nice. She'd gone out this morning to grab some snacks, dodging wandering drunks along the way, and contemplating whether she'd get in trouble for crushing the car that had its alarm blaring non-stop.
In the little convenience store down the street from the hotel where she was currently crashing, she hadn't even had to use any of her usual distractions; no one was at the register, or anywhere else in the store that she could see. There was a bit of a spill on the floor, so maybe they were out back getting a mop and bucket.
Eh, screw it. She was feeling generous given all the goodies she'd grabbed. She slapped a couple hundred-yen coins on the counter and walked out the store nibbling on a caramel cone while stuffing the pocky and other snacks into her pockets.
Another drunk got shoved aside on her way back. Honestly! Didn't they usually have the decency to pass out at 3 AM and not bother people in the mornings?
It took her twenty minutes of flipping through channels back in her room before she noticed the alert notices warning about zombies. Really? Zombies? Who takes that kinda stupidity seriously?
She sighed in exhaustion, remembering all the events that eventually convinced her. Still, she couldn't leave Mami to clean up this kind of mess on her own, so there was no helping it.
With that she leapt to the roof and continued her trek towards the school.

Sadly, Kamijou was not the sole infected who entered the school, though he was certainly the most obvious. It took some time before people really glommed onto the idea that the shambling bodies roaming the school grounds really were zombies; far too many people died due to not recognizing the true threat.
On the other hand, Homura was nothing if not efficient once given a course to pursue. Particularly one that involved large amounts of dakka. Homura had dakka to spare.
She kept a wary eye on Sayaka, who apparently had had her arm bitten in the moments before Homura had extracted her. Luckily she had already transformed, so the bite was shallow, but it seemed to be a constant drain on her healing magic to purify the infection. In the end, Sayaka had asked for her own arm to be cut off to stop the spread of the disease. While Mami was reluctant, Homura was brutally efficient. Madoka's tears were painful, but they'd be more so if Homura had been forced to end Sayaka's life permanently.
Homura's timestop, combined with her Desert Eagle, made short work of clearing out hallways. Mami's ribbons kept people trapped until the group could verify whether they had been bitten. Behind them they left numerous bodies, but far more living than had any right to be in such a disaster.
For the moment they had barricaded themselves in the nurse's office with Madoka's homeroom teacher, Msm. Saotoe. Having heard from Kyouko that she was on her way, they decided to wait until everyone was together before moving on to the next stage.
There was no way Homura would allow Madoka's family to be dragged into this, and no way she'd allow Madoka to worry herself to death over not knowing their fates.
It was time to forge ahead into the city proper, and purify the world of this plague.
