Renascence: A Homura Quest

Honorifics or Western-style Titles? I've used both before, which is bothersomely inconsistent

I have to juggle them, it can get tricky at times, especially when it's busy.

Homura Akemi woke up in a hospital bed like she had so many times before, but this time was different, this time she had nothing left. No weapons, no grief seeds, no hope. All exhausted for nothing. And in the last moments Kyubey told her what she most feared, that she was the reason that Madoka was growing more powerful and her witch was growing more terrible.
Kyubey was right, she couldn't save Madoka and all she brought was suffering. She checked her soul gem, it was almost black. Homura knew she could save anyone, but she wouldn't let herself become a monster. She crushed her soul gem in her hand.
Homura Akemi woke up in a hospital bed like she had so many times before, but this time was different because today she was finally able to leave. In a little over a week she'd be able to school again, maybe she'd even make some friends.
An interesting piece...non-Canon.

It's a bit too short for a mechanical reward, but I'll give you this: If Homura crushed her Soul Gem upon waking, she would die.

Living things cannot survive travelling in Homura's shield.
Living things, by justinkal's definition (possessing Sentience, Sapience, and a Soul), cannot survive traveling in Homura's shield.

Living things, as defined by yourself (biologically alive by the medical standard for that organism) can survive traveling in Homura's shield.

Ok, just to make sure everyone's on the same page here in regards to the differences between these definitions, I'd like to verify a few things that are implied by this.

Using my (rather unusual) definition of "living":
Mundane humans and Puella Magi are alive.
In some cases, an entity without any form of physical body, such as an intelligent ghost, can be considered alive.
An entity that cannot be classified as "organism" can be classified as "living".
Plants and simple organisms, such as bacteria, are not alive.

By DracoDracul's definition of "living":
Plants and simple organisms, such as bacteria, are alive.

In a nutshell, one definition only counts intelligent entities as alive and the other definition only counts biological entities as alive. Neither definition is perfect.

And just for fun,
A perfectly cast Giga Slave would defeat Walpurgisnacht.

Hnn even still the reds leave a lot of room for interpretation and loopholes...

Good thing Im re-reading Umineko...

The body/vessel of a Puella Magi that is out of range of her soul gem is considered "alive" by biological definitions.

The body/vessel of a Puella Magi that is out of range of her soul gem is NOT considered "alive" by Justinkai´s definitions.

I know this seems a little idiosyncratic but I want to be sure.

Well, the answer will be arriving sometime within the next 2 hours or so, when Higure responds to the many blue truths that have gathered here.

Define organism for your other truth.

By DracoDracul's definition of life, plants and simple biological entities, such as bacteria, are alive.

A perfectly cast Giga Slave could potentially defeat Walpurgisnacht, depending on the caster of the spell...and the accessibility of the LoN and the magical systems that allow that spell to be cast.

I won't speak as to whether the other traits interfere at this time.

So, since we aren't getting a red truth, anyone have any ideas of experiments to test whether or not Soul Gems are sentient or sapient (without compromising morality)?

Hmmmm interesting...

Ahhh
Uh is that coding I see?

Although I don't know of a language that uses upside down question marks for anything.
{
//Run check for errors
*Code stuff*
...{
//Run Soul Seed .exe
*CODE STUFF*
...}
}
Okay Im a little lost, can someone catch me up?

So if we can link their mind/soul to us, we can detach their soul, stuff their body in our shield, rewind, and then reinstall soul.exe?

It is definitely important...I wouldn't put something like that up if it wasn't.

Also...while the Detective knows this, remember that, while I am not your enemy here, I am here to challenge you. I won't lie in Red (and avoid it on the whole, truth be known), but I will mislead you.

Don't assume that the obvious meaning of something is the real meaning.

Here's a theory. Who knows; I could be completely wrong. Maybe these symbols are just meant to resemble the right-hand side of a grief seed. But for the sake of this theory, let's assume this is a 'drawing' of a straight path:

¿
{
{
{
{
¿

But then something happens, and after the ¿ and the first {, the middle step in the path gets displaced:

¿
{
...{

Has it entered a fourth dimension? Is this meant to represent time? Or some other metaphorical 'direction'?

Either way, something happens while the second { is displaced. It gets flipped:

¿
{
...{
...}

Is this a reversal of (metaphorical) velocity? Of (metaphorical) acceleration? Time travel? Something else altogether?

And then, the displacement stops.

¿
{
...{
...}
}

The path continues, only reversed this time. Somehow the { traveled 'somewhere(?) else' and became a } by the time it came back.

But then we get this:

¿
{
...{
...}
}
¿

Why is the upside-down question mark facing the same way on both the top and bottom? You'd think it'd be reversed. But it's not!

I don't know what this means. Is the ¿ a soul gem? A magical girl? Something else entirely?

Just food for thought.
