Extended "MG" to "Magical Girls", added a reminder that Oriko can see the future to lend extra credence to her view that Mami cannot handle this reveal, and added a pause to allow that point to sink in before going into the reveal. Also added a check for eavesdroppers and what to do if there are any. If it's just, say, Madoka and Sayaka, I think it's fine to proceed with the reveal, but if Kyubey or non-allied Demons are around, I think we should hold off. EDIT: Also fixed a typo (changed "loose" to "lose").

Regardless, I believe we will need a follow-up vote to schedule a meeting where we can go into full disclosure regarding the de-Witchification process, preferably with Gabriel or Louis doing something to make sure that Kyubey can't listen in.

That's why the "If she presses on how Witches are made" part is there. It's only if she thinks she's ready for more that she will get more.

And considering she canonically already believes she knows where Witches come from (Familiars growing into full Witches, which isn't entirely wrong), there's a reasonable chance she won't ask.

I feel like she would though. She's not dumb, and while she could come to the conclusion on her own, I don't think that giving her this information while she already believes herself to be in debt to us a good idea.

Like, sure we made progress here, but having her coming to the realization that she almost became a Witch smack in the middle of our grandparent's house and almost attacked us and everyone around us seems like the wrong move to me. Maybe that's just me though given how everyone seems set on this.

Well then, give an actual alternative other than "don't do it." Because if she asks then we still have to tell her something. And lying would be a betray of trust.

Ideally I don't want her to ask at all. While I agree that telling the truth would be the move at that point, I can see Kyoko straight up leaving after a revelation like that.

Maybe she goes for Mami, who knows. I'm mostly just concerned that telling her the truth would have Kyoko hit her limit. Hell, I'd rather avoid the question entirely if possible.
 
Would Yumi be the kind of girl to use DLC Personas before she's the proper level?

    You glance around at your surroundings before you speak, looking out for any eavesdroppers.

    (INT ROLL: 7+10)

    ...You don't see any sign of Kyubey, nor any other listeners, so you continue.

    "From what Mr. Rat has said, the process that makes Witches generates more energy than what goes into it, all to "combat entropy"." You tell her, "That's why he Contracts girls in the first place."

    "So Witches are like nuclear waste to him?" Kyoko asks, "And Earth is a dumping ground?"

    "That's..." You blink, surprised at how well she's taking this so far, "...Certainly one way to put it."

    "Then where do Witches come from?" Kyoko presses a little further, "How does Kyubey make them?"

    You make one final scan of your surroundings...

    (INT CHECK: 19+10+2)

    "See, that's a topic I'd like to discuss with another experienced person in this field, Homura." You stare at her hiding place (she's crouched behind a bush.).

    Homura sighs, standing up, "I was simply curious as to your states of mind. Sakura should be able to handle--?"

    "How long have you been there?!" Kyoko shoots up, drawing her spear from the air.

    "I followed you out." She replies calmly, "I'm glad you two were able to talk your problems out."

    "Oh, you mother--!!"

    "Hey." You raise you hand, cutting Kyoko's curse short, "She's gonna help with explaining everything to make up for spying on us."

    Kyoko grunts, sitting back down with a huff.

    Homura walks over and sits on her other side. She glances in your direction, waiting for you to begin.

    You sigh, "What I'm about to tell you generally kept a secret because if a Magical Girl were to find out, they might do something... Drastic. And before you--?"

    Kyoko's eyes widen a little, "Wait, are you saying that this is something that not even Mami knows?"

    Homura nods, "Unfortunately, she isn't stable enough to handle this revelation."

    "Not stable enough?!" Kyoko growls, "What are you talking about? She's the strongest Magical Girl I've ever met!"

    "But not the most mentally together one." Homura counters, "If she were to learn this, she would attack us with the intent to kill."

    "...What?" Kyoko asks in a hushed tone.

    "Witches are born when..." God, it never gets any easier talking about this... "...When a Magical Girl lets her Soul Gem go completely black."

    All of the color drains from Kyoko's face.

    "Up until recently, that was the end of it." Homura adds, "Then, Yumi did the impossible. You may have seen her do it, even if you didn't realize it at the time."

    Kyoko opens her mouth, and closes it. She tries to speak, but no words come out.

    "Yumi broke their Contracts, like she broke yours. Only this time, a full revival wasn't needed. You were alive." Homura explains a little more.

    Kyoko still doesn't speak.

    I'm yoinking @BethofDeath's subvote for a line of dialogue I feel is less stacked on a person who's probably feeling overwhelmed, given the speechless Kyoko we have.

    I also feel like getting Mami's Contract broken was a thing we were gonna do anyway, but we only have 1 of the thing left over for now so I ideally want to save it until we get Samerecarm, as much as I want to use it on Homura.

    Homura seems to understand this as well, silently awaiting Kyoko's response.

    "...So..." Kyoko begins, staring blankly at you, "...I've just been cannibalizing other Magical Girls this entire time?"

    "It isn't like you knew, Kyoko," Homura shakes her head, "And besides, you never really had a choice. Witches are completely feral, and could kill many--"

    "Then... That Arisu girl, and Hiroko... How come I got to keep my powers?" Kyoko asks, "What makes me special?"

    "I don't really have an answer to that." You admit, crossing your arms, "Maybe it's because you still had a body. Could be because I used something stronger than a Revival Bead. So, just in case, be careful if you use a Revival Bead on someone's Soul Gem. They might not be able to defend themselves."

    "Yeah." Kyoko stares forward over the pond, "That's... Not a good way to spend a second life. But, I gotta ask, what about Mami?"

    "I'd honestly have no trouble doing what I did for you again, but..." You smile sheepishly, "...You're kinda the first one I've tried this on. I'd like to watch you for a while just in case there are any other side effects, especially if you get to keep your magic. That's not even getting into how Kyubey might react." You shift uncomfortably in your seat, "I'm debating holding off on that until I can either properly explain everything to her, or I'm forced to act in the moment." Even one death is too many.

    "So we're just supposed to hide this from her?" Kyoko nearly growls.

    "Tomoe will react poorly if we just drop everything on her lap all at once." Homura argues as calmly as she can, "We can't risk messing this up."

    "She's been a Magical Girl for years, and she trusts Kyubey." You reiterate, "We have to be careful with her. Too much, too fast, and..."

    (CHR ROLL: 12+10)

    "...You've got a point." Kyoko grumbles unhappily, "I don't like hiding shit from Mami, but we should probably be slow with her. What's the plan, then?"
