    "That was before I knew what kind of horrid creature you were." You growl fiercely, "Yumi Konishi has bested you every single time you have initiated combat with her, and yet you still insist on antagonizing her!"

    "She just got lucky--!!"

    "No, you got lucky!" You shout, your fury quickly bubbling to the surface, "The first battle, she spared your life on a whim! The second, I had to pull you out of the crater she left you in! What in the Abyss's name were you thinking?!" Before she can reply, you tighten your magical grip, "Ah, yes! You weren't thinking! You're a rabid animal, constantly snarling at everything that moves!"

    "That's not fair! She always ambushed me!" She yelps in defiance, "In a fair fight, I would--!"

    "You would be dead! If you fought Konishi head on, she would kill you!" Why did this mentally deficient mongrel have to be your other half? "You are not stronger than her! You are not stronger than me! Your only worth is in my Knowledge that should be mine by birthright!"

    "You--!!!" A shadow wraps around her neck.

    "You are too volatile to work with." Your spell finally completes, "So, I'm placing you in a safe place where you can't hurt anyone."

    "Yeah, they use their entire bodies to sense the sounds all around them--? Kohaku, what--?"

    "I'm going back outside," Kohaku turns around, "And I'm going to... Practice magic. If only to avoid thinking about what you just said."

    You blink.

    Maybe she just doesn't like bees...

    ...Eh, her loss. You follow her outside, where you find not only Kohaku, but Kyoko and Yuma as well! Grandma sits in front of them, patiently waiting for you. You sit down right in between Kohaku and Yuma.

    "And now that everyone has gathered, we can truly begin." Grandma smiles, "How exciting! I haven't really taught any new mages since I helped your mother, Yumi!"

    "Wait, really?" Yuma asks, "You haven't taught anyone since then?"

    "No, dear, I haven't." Grandma shakes her head, "Regardless, your friends are quite the interesting bunch. That Sayaka girl can use Almighty magic, and seems to have an affinity for ice on top of that."

    "What the he..." Grandma locks eyes with Kyoko. She stops mid-sentence. "...ck is Almighty magic?" She finally finishes.

    "It is magic that is utterly unblockable by normal means." Grandma answers, "Very powerful, but quite tiring to cast. How Sayaka managed to learn it is a mystery to me."

    "Well, I was trying to teach her Dia..." You explain, sheepishly glancing away from everyone, "...And Sayaka just kinda... Did Megido."

    "Explain." Grandma requests calmly.

    "So, I was hanging out with Sayaka one day, and she wanted me to help her learn to work out." Man, it feels like years since you helped her... "I had Pixie use Dia on her as an example, but when she tried... I'm just glad she missed."

    "That explains it." Grandma nods to herself, "You already had the demon as your ally, yes?"

    "Yeah, why?"

    "Then the demon was bound to you specifically." Grandma explains carefully, "She "learned" magic from your demon despite not having a bond with it, and ended up with some other spell. There was magical energy, but no bond to solidify what she was manifesting. So instead of learning Dia, that magical energy reconstituted itself as Megido. It could have been anything, really."

    "So Blueberry just got lucky?" Kyoko asks, "Some people just have all the luck, huh?"

    "So, if Yuma learns a bunch of magic from Big Sis Yumi and her friends, it'll be a surprise?!" Yuma, for what feels like the first time you've seen, looks excited beyond belief.

    "No." Grandma firmly denies, "Teaching magic like that could be dangerous. You can't predict what you'll learn, and could easily end up learning something you really shouldn't have. Furthermore, once you have a usable skill, you may not even be able to properly wield it. There are simply too many unknowns for such a strategy to be feasible, let alone safe."

    "So Nagisa learned healing from Angel...?" You cross your arms, deep in thought, "And because Sayaka tried to learn Dia from my demon, it went wrong?"

    "Precisely, Yumi." Grandma nods at you, "But I think it's for the best if you avoid doing that again."

    Nagisa explicitly says she learned by watching Angel use it on her mother, and that happened after we recruited him.
