I already suggested getting Gentleman James for Shroud, but who's your call for the free summon on Abarimon and Third Person?

Abarimon needs to be dealt with from a distance, so for him, I think Miss Naught is a good call. Third Person wants us to run an obstacle course or some sort of Fear Factor game, so Pallisade would be my call for him.
Abarimon is a REP challenge. We need to convince him to come peacefully, since the only reason the dude left his prison is because he would starve otherwise. Thus, Gentleman James is a must.

That is a fair point, but my hope was that once that's done, Miss Naught can shoot a knock-out arrow at him, get him unconscious to turn off his gas, wait a bit for the gas around him to dissipate, and then haul him into Neo Wonderland.

If he's coming willingly, why bother with that? By all indications, Abarimon is a pretty good guy who went to Wonderland voluntarily because of his power. Crusade is going to try to take him down with force, so we'll need to show him that we're not looking for a fight. It'd be pretty counterproductive to start one after he surrenders.

Does Abarimon's power even turn off when he's unconscious at all? I mean, if he can't control his power in the first place, then it seems like him being conscious or not wouldn't have much of an effect.

okay that's fair, assumption on my part. If we had an aerokinetic like Autumne, we could contain the gas by sending it up into the air far above everyone. Right now, our best option is... what, have Black Swan carry a big tarp into the air and drop it on him like a house getting fumigated?

That said can I jsut say how much of a bitch moves the missions we can encounter Crusade are?

3rd Person they dont even want to risk getting possess. Meaning there probably not interested in taking 3rd person down especially since id involve death of host if they messed.

MG is obvious since its a way for them to slander us. Cenotaph and Meet the rookies as our own PR moves they need to counter so tehy basically have no choice but try interfere.

But for Abarimon while his dangerous isnt really a threat deserving taking down. But for some reason they'll actually interfere with us on it.

Like I can see that maybe they're doing other missions other than doing PR for their moneybags. But it kinda seems like tehy really arent serious about fighting monarch and for all their accusations are too afraid to actually duke it up with JU.

Since if they were confident in winning, the accuastion of cousing the movement is a casus beli for open war.

Crusade was not designed to help people; it was designed to assert control in a power vacuum. A lot of powerful groups have been trying to get their foot in the door of the Hero game for quite some time, and thus they have pooled their resources to put together their little focus-group-approved band of superheroes to stake their claim in Horizon. The perception of continued success is more important for their goals than actually helping people, so they focus on sure wins, avoid anything truly contentious or risky, and continue their propoganda against the main legitimate game left in town.

...But therein lies the crux of the matter. It's just like Menagerie Witch's confrontation with Wolong: at a certain point, people don't care about the shiny headquarters or designer costumes or whatever narrative a group is trying to sell. Why are innocents dying under your watch? Why don't you have boots on the ground? Why do you avoid the areas of town that would need your help the most? Because there's no money in it?

Crusade's long game only works if there's nobody left to compare themselves with. As long as Justice Unlimited continues to persist and help, the day draws ever closer when Crusade's gold paint flakes away to reveal nothing but rust underneath.

Stockpile really is naive, emotional and easily manipulated.

Crusade gameplan is pretty similar to GJ and maybe even worse. Like for America complained about having only the foot as territory it sounds like they never really took real risk unless they can help it to get people trsut on GJ rellying on PR and seeming success.

Which with ND and POwrs on the board doing the same thing lead to a stalemate. Then once JU went all in on heroism propelled them to top spot.

Like even when Nora was a kid his dad pointed out none of the teams were really being heroes and just acting like cops on their territories. Which isnt a bad thing but well those not under there protection arent gonna look at the people who left them on the lurch kindly no matter the pr.

Okay, Red Huntress might provide a clue to my earlier thought on Enhanced Senses + Clairvoyance, because she does have both, but no special combo. So, the third (or fourth or fifth) part of that hypothetical combo can't be any of her other tags (Invisibility, Fitness, Energy Manipulation, Transformation, Speed).

That's something we should use as a clue: What powers seem to avoid being put into a set of three or more with each other on the same source?

I wouldn't think about it like that. Just because a person has the prerequisites for a synergy doesn't mean it will manifest.

I would like too see more of, Lei and Mona social. AS FRIENDS, NOT AS LOVER.
Like, going out shopping, training together, or just relexing.

Also more of Hero For Hire bord. I would love too see, what think of Lei and the new JU.

Oh no, I've caught up. 😭

Can I suggest including the winning vote in a spoiler at the top of updates? It's a practice that makes it vastly easier to track what's going on for people who are catching up or who are just reading threadmarks rather than actively participating in/following discussion.

I can add it in a spoiler in the start of an issue, yeah! And welcome!

Maybe not full on technopathy but I imagine this kind of powerset would be useful for making high tech gadgets, reverse engineering, maintenance, hacking, etc? Basically take the power to "read inanimate objects" and translate that into being able to analyse how they work was my line of thinking.

Conveniently it would also give plausible deniability since Rhodes was known to be research staff and helped maintain the team's gear. Which means he also has expertise in this field already.
Would you be okay with throwing Hydrocity on top so Elemental Manipulation leads to some extra electrokinetic or ferrokinetic tech manipulation?

Yu could count on one finger the number of times she referred to Yelena Sokolov as anything other than "Novalight."
Russian last names are gendered. As Yelena is a woman, that should be Sokolova.

Also, "fuck Novalight" we all say in unison.
"Well, I like it!" Lloyd said, "And maybe he'll help us pry Lamar back for Global Justice?"
Given context and lore that's got to be meant to be *from Global Justice.
"No, ma'am. It's . . . amazing. I don't even know where to start. I couldn't probably make headway if I could use my power—"
Given context, that should be *could probably make headway.
"Of course! Of course I will be! And if Gwendolyn does not like it, she can keep it to herself for I can not one whit what she thinks!"
*I care not
Natalie, John Henry's oldest daughter. (Died in attack from Demon Flamez after Movement)
Normally I would try to restrain myself from picking on someone who is doing god's work by way of useful infoposting, but it's a little too tragicomically hilarious that you've got the inverse of Dr. Ibis' error here for me not to comment on it. Natasha is the one who died. Natalie is the one we just hired.

AAAAHHHHHHH— (I'll fix it later.)

Hey, just a dude reading ahead. I've almost caught up.

I couldn't help but notice the discussion about how the quest feels doom and gloom a few pages back. It caught my eye because I also felt frustrated how we seemed to be on the back-foot constantly.

I also saw how the QM was confused and concerned about that feeling.

My two cents is this: do to the combination of completing early missions by the skin of our teeth (just look at how many ones we rolled in Eminence Part 1) and how powerful the Philosophers (who are accelerating their plans concerning us) are, we feel more helpless then we actually are. Also not helping things is how our setbacks are highlighted more in the updates than our victories, at least that's how I feel they were structured.

Apologies if I came off as rude. I felt the need offer my own thoughts on the issue (Ha!).

Love this quest by the way.

No, I definitely appreciate it. I'm gonna make more of an effort to let victories sink in a little more before bringing up the next problem.

Thanks. For reference, a scene I felt you did right was the ending fight between Scarlet Maturity and Black Swan. Sure, Maturity survived, but we learned how his power works and helped Mona grow.
