Look, there's a very esoteric psychic Invincibility synergy and I'm going to find an excuse to have Wolong tell you about it.
Now I can't help but imagine Wolong just almost hitting a synergy, but he keeps on getting distracted by Dreamcatcher's face spiders/Arc needing a new round of painkillers/Wonderland problem No. noone'sevencountingbynow every time his thoughts are about to line up.

I have to imagine that the "Chatelet's audit" PA we chose has a different list than the normal S-Link ones that Rhys and Mona are rolling this turn.

My personal guess is that It's a mix of money, a free roll on the Undiagnosed ADHD table for a free gadget, combo clues, lore info on Leviathan/Psychic stuff, and extra Shield Generators.

He actually had the synergy figured out, but arrived at the Apiary just in time for Menagerie Witch to pull him aside so he could witness the most recent of Mona's fumbles -- and she fumbled so hard it fumbled the idea out of his brain.

You have a broad point, I'm just going off my intuition that Telepathy would be Clairvoyance x2 + Mental Manipulation x2 + Ally Empowerment, throwing on Steadfast because everyone's scared she'll get hurt, and then adding an extra Elemental Manipulation for flavor/to improve her ability to blast things with water/fire/plants/ice/wind/whatever she ends up having.
I could see that being the case, though I will make the observation that adding Elemental Manipulation does add some likelihood to one Clairvoyance being eaten to create Telekinesis:

"Well, don't keep us in suspense, man! Have you had any luck?" Chaucer says.

Wolong smiles. "Yes. [Clairvoyance]. The ability to perceive knowledge beyond the sensorium. I believe any "psychic" power synergy will involve multiple instances of this trait. Then, to dictate the nature of the psychic power expressed, other keywords can be used as a guide. For example, I believe [Energy Manipulation] and [Clairvoyance] are both involved in the expression of [Telekinesis]."
It might all depend on what that missing third ingredient is. A second Clairvoyance? Enhanced Strength, and maybe that's the 'familiar feeling' Wolong had?

Bitterman always takes into account voter desire with a powerset vote. If I say I want a telepathic/mental focus with some durability and elemental blasting, he won't be too much of a jackass genie about it.

True! I guess we shouldn't stress about it too much and make a cool idea first and foremost.

....luck checks are cursed... like 70% of time....
The dice know what they want, and what they want is to see us struggle mightily against the odds before succeeding anyway through grit and perserverance.

spiderhellian’s Candidate New
Candidate "Adherent"
Name:
Peace Jackson
Age: 20
Stats:
HIT 2 (Got in a few too many fights as a kid...)
ESPIONAGE 3 (It took months for people to realize she'd been in a cult.)
REPUTATION 1 (...And then they were pretty worried about her.)
OPERATIONS 2 (Had to grow up sooner than most. )
Tolerance: 9 (No clue how to math this one out, let me know if it should be changed)
Chaucer's Notes: Peace was taller and quieter than most of the residents who came to the Apiary after the Movement, but other than that was fairly unremarkable. She was one of the most frequent attendees of the interfaith group that sprung up a few weeks in, but it wasn't until the group grew to the point that others actually heard what prayers she was intoning that she came to our attention.
The other members of the group were quite alarmed -- she was praying to the Leviathan. I had thought that cult disappeared after Justice Unlimited defeated the Supplicants!

Lady Leizi: When your Mom was raised in the aftermath of the Blooming and your very name is a prayer, I imagine it's hard to escape. But the Movement -- and the wreckage it left of her home and life -- seems to have made a considerable impact on her. To the point she wants to act, and not merely wait for the Looming God to "cleanse the evil of this world". I do know what it's like to think you understand the world and your place in it, and then see it upended in a single day. We should not reject her out of turn.
Dr. Ibis: Bah, you're both missing the most important part: her Ambrosia tolerance is remarkably high! Think about what this could mean -- If prayer to the Leviathan can grant one a better tolerance to Goldnine, we must have all our candidates convert at once!

I love characters who have a genuine faith, especially when their religion is one some would find peculiar. I also wanted to play more with some of the ideas from my earlier Apocrypha. Hope this works as a candidate, and happy to adjust potency to fit.

It's also made me quite curious what religion looks like in Horizon/the world in general, really...

Candidate "Adherent"
Just a few notes.

-the AN is broken. Nvm it got fixed.
-Dr. Ibis doesn't normally speak in these things.
-Remember, fan candidate Tolerance normally doesn't go over 7, since HT candidates are from end of questlines.

But aside from that, great job! I like her a lot already, and I think she'd throw in some good spice to our team.

Considering Telekinesis is an expression of a psychic power a second Clairvoyance tag is probably at least semi required regardless, its just a question of what unique third tag it is rather than stacking imo.

And our current cheapest way to get at least 2 of Clairvoyance/Energy Manipulation is Red Huntress/Hunch/Millions. Its just a question of the rest, though I'd probably bet on one of Enhanced Senses/Enhanced Strength just off of relative fit with Telekinesis?

Gut instinct to me says Flight is the obvious candidate. After all, most Synergies have their component parts available to them, and from all accounts, Valkyrie, a telekinetic, could fly by levitating herself with her telekinesis.

... It just occurred to me... It's probably too late to bring this up, and maybe even a bit awkward, but how far away was Seraph from the interview seats before VG revealed her? More than 100 yards away?

So, I went and checked all our luck rolls.

So many Madoka Magica likes, like way more then now have been made. Surely right?
It only makes sense if magical girls boosted, those numbers would inflate too
Madoka Magica is a fairly self-contained story that follows a pretty well-defined plotline: it doesn't have filler or the possibility of alternate settings every season like PreCure. You can set a number of stories within the same setting but you can't change main elements of the setting like PreCure does every season.

IRL, Madoka's been making spinoffs as much as they can but the main plot (OG series plus Rebellion, is actually kind of tiny by necessity)

This has been rattling around in my head for a bit:

So, Mona's sensitivity made Lantern stop spying on her. Assuming, however, that Lantern is the greatest remote viewer who ever lived, couldn't she have figured out what Project Prometheus was from other things? Nora clearly left enough notes for Ibis to be able to finish the job, why didn't she look at those, or Ibis finishing the results, or everything in the set-up before Mona was injected? Why did they need to go through Faust making a contract, and then through Crusade to learn about Project Prometheus?

Well, a few potential things:
1) She might not have known where to look. It was a secret base they were in, afterall.
2) Relatedly, she might not have been looking before that. There was a huge explosion, afterall. That might have attracted her attention.

Something I'll note is that they probably assume it's power related:
To satisfy my employer, I propose a trade: Justice Unlimited will disclose all ongoing activities related to metahuman research, ongoing operations, and any and all research left by Valiant Silver. In exchange, Powers will share with you the results of our own ongoing metahuman development projects.
My guess is that they think Project Prometheus is some way to either strengthen or broaden powers.

Anyway, something that occurred to me ages ago, but I kept forgetting to bring up: isn't Ellie showing her untrasformed state with only a domino mask a bad idea, since it risks Yellow Qilin and/or her minions identifying her as the "Dark Lady"? Because that wouldn't add up to her somehow being VS's successor who met her.
