This is exactly why he doesn't go on missions with the rest of the team and why they bring the fights to him. He is the real MVP heavy hitter and they know for a fact with Alchemist around everything will be that much easier.

Can't wait for fo the next Luthor scene, I wonder how much can Alchemist freak out the Justice League if he offers Luthor a contract and Luthor instantly use it to grow his hair back.

So, Red has Family!

Will it occur to change them back & deprogram them?

Maybe go over the former lab & find the sensor or area that transmitted the info?

I'd hope so!

That's not something Alchemist can really pull off, not having that kind of technical expertise. Maybe if the League would collaborate, get a Green Lantern to scan the facility.
It's really surprising just how much can be resolved by a power ring. I get that those guys tend to be super busy though, usually only having one per sector compared to Earth getting three.

seeing as red and his android bro and sis has emotions I think that's all magic needs for esuna to work on them and remove shackles so they will be able to make there own choices

So, will Player One invite Alchemist to her I.D. for a Christmas Dungeon crawl?

Would there be a version of Santa? An undead sleigh?

So, will Player One invite Alchemist to her I.D. for a Christmas Dungeon crawl?

Would there be a version of Santa? An undead sleigh?
The bosses have been based off of dc Gotham people, so a santa zombie would be too powerful to face. Remember in dc santa regularly makes it through apocalypse to give darkseid coal for Christmas. And yes santa exists in dc, he's Superman's next door neighbor.

Then again, the Joker once escaped from Arkham in a Santa suit, riding a rocket-propelled Christmas tree, early in Batman: TAS. So a Santa-themed bossfight is not out of the cards...

But this is the Young Justice continuity, so that didn't happen here. Yet.

Batman sat alone in a meeting room on the Watchtower, packets of papers and folders splayed out in front of him. Reviewing documents and making notes wasn't exactly exciting, but it was important to stay on top of things.

"Hey Bats." The Flash said as he entered the room. With a short, two-fingered wave he sat down at one of the many unoccupied seats at the round table. "Anything exciting?"

"The team has blown through their maintenance budget about seven times over, I've discovered multiple conspiracies in Star Labs, one of the members of the team is performing illegal experiments and another one has started seeing a psychiatrist." The dark knight assembled the papers in his hand, tapped them on the table to align them and said "Guess which one your protege is involved in?"

"...Can I hope it's the maintenance one?" Resignation filled his voice as he accepted the packet of papers Batman handed to him. The Flash barely looked up when The Martian Manhunter walked into the room.

The tall green man said nothing as he sat in an unoccupied space of his own, a brief nod given to the other members.

It did not take much longer before Aquaman and Black Canary joined them.

"I would like to start this off" Batman began. "By stating that until further notice, The Team will not be taking missions directly involving Star Labs."

One packet of papers was handed around, each member taking a smaller packet of papers stapled together.

"Upon discovering a discrepancy in the paperwork, a full audit was initiated on Star Labs and their containment procedures. A significant amount of materials, roughly four percent so far, are not in the labs they're supposed to be. These include unstable compounds, high-energy power sources, teleportation technology and advanced robotics technology. A multitude of these included nuclear and near-nuclear devices, and those findings have already been handed over to the Federal Authorities." The faces around the table grew grim. "I'd also like to remind everyone here that the audit isn't even through the first week."

Batman handed over another packet, this one involving just a single sheet of paper for each of the people at the table.

"One hundred and fifty thousand dollars for mold removal, vent maintenance, HVAC maintenance... Billed by Alchemic Solutions? Alchemist is charging us to maintain the Mountain?" Orin asked calmly after reviewing the sheet.

"He's charging us for maintenance beyond the scope he was contracted for. I had him walk me through everything he did, and where he did it. Mount Justice was in significantly worse condition than I expected. Independant estimates for contractors to be hired to complete the same job would cost three times as much, not to mention the significant risks to security. I've already authorized the payment." There were a handful of nods around the table, those assembled being well aware of what could happen if the wrong person was trusted.

Again.

"Are we certain that his repairs will last?" J'onn asked as he looked over the estimates Batman handed out.

"Lantern Stewart reviewed his repairs and performed a basic scan of the base at my request." Batman nodded to the various members who looked up. "Everything has been returned to its original condition. There were a handful of sealed locations that he couldn't access that were in the condition he claimed to have repaired the base from, pictures have been included."

The Flash actually looked somewhat green when he saw what had been growing in the corners of the Waterfall Room.

"I'd like to propose that we hire or recruit an individual with a specialty in building and maintenance." Flash spoke up after looking at the pictures again. "Because I just thought the place smelled like an attic, y'know, old and musty. Not... yeah."

When Batman began handing out -even more- papers he let out a resigned sigh.

"Let me guess, the illegal experiments this time?" There were a few questioning looks passed between the members present at Flashes question, but Batman just nodded. "Alright, let's see it."

The packet this time was significantly thicker. When opened, Barry saw photos, numbers, lots of numbers... The fact that the subjects were mice named after the Pac-Man ghosts was reasonably amusing.

The experiment itself, not so much.

"He gave mice Superspeed?!" Black Canary shrieked, flipping through the papers. "They need to be terminated! Not only is this illegal, it's immoral and-"

"And it suggests Wally's powers might be eating him alive." Flash interrupted her, reading through it faster than the rest could comprehend. "Look at the pictures on pages three through five, he's been comparing them. Pinky, that's the one with his powers. Look at it."

Black Canary flipped through the pictures, comparing them... Pinky had been eating more and more food but losing weight every single day. The most recent one, from yesterday... The mouse was skin and bones except for the bloated, distended belly.

"There is no guarantee that his powers are affecting him the same way, Flash." J'onn offered calmly. "Perhaps it would be wise to consult a medical professional before assuming these similarities are exact."

"Yeah, you're right I-" Flash was interrupted by a knocking next to the open door of the meeting room.

Superman was there, followed by Giovanni "John" Zatara.

Holding a skeletal hand with muscles still attached and nope, the Flash was not interested in whatever crime had Superman carrying around a dismembered hand.

"Batman, I'm glad I caught you."

"Superman." How Batman said that one word conveyed a significant amount of meaning.

Shortening it, however, it meant 'What do you want?'.

"Before my sabbatical I met with Alchemist and we had a brief talk. I... Accidentally flew off with some of his property." Trying to hand over a hand was actually a rather awkward affair. Clark shuffled the thing in his hands a few times, unsure if he should hold it by the arm bone, in a handshake, maybe intertwine his fingers with it?

He eventually just held it by the wrist and handed it to Batman armbone first.

"Wait-wait-wait, are you seriously trying to tell us Alchemist gave you a hand?" Despite the grisly looking subject, the Flash still managed to find humor in it.

"I'm more concerned with where it came from, and why he had it." Aquaman interrupted before the Flash could build up momentum.

"It's artificial." Batman said after tossing it to Barry, his expression neutral even while the speedster shrieked.

"And magical." John added as he stepped around the Man of Steel. "Extremely so."

"Necromancy?" Black Canary wonder aloud.

"No." John said as he took the hand from Barry. "I am quite familiar with Necromancy and this is very different."

"I can tell." Aquaman was looking at the artifact with naked curiosity. "Necromancy has a taint to it, slick, oily... Rotten. Whatever that is, it's light. Eager, even."

"Precisely! I would quite like to know how this came to be, as well as getting samples of it to experiment with!" John handed the limb back to Batman.

"I'll pass on the request." Batman secreted the arm away into his cape. "Superman? Have you reconsidered what I brought up?"

The man of Steel looked into the caped crusaders hidden eyes and nodded grimly. "Yes. And my answer is this. I will not be adopting the clones. Period. But I will consent to training them so long as it's supervised by at least one other member of the league."

"They need-"

"They need" Superman rode over Batman as he tried to speak. "to be in the care of someone that can properly care for them, and that they won't remember feeling the need to either destroy or seduce."

The two of them glared at each other for a long moment before Batman nodded, breaking the tension that had grown thick in the room. "Very well. Thank you for reconsidering their training, at least."

Superman nodded before waving and leaving the room, stress obvious in his steps.

"...I think that's it for this meeting, right?" Barry asked as he stood up, aligning the papers he'd been given.

"Except for one matter that I need to discuss with Black Canary, yes. In short the team has a lot of growing problems and issues that we did not anticipate, but what we've encountered so far is either being resolved or researched." As Batman finished, three of the other members of the League stood up to leave.

Once the door closed behind the Martian Manhunter, leaving the room to Batman and Black Canary, the Dark Knight spoke.

"Alchemist has begun seeing a psychiatrist."

"Oh thank god!" Was not the response he'd been expecting from her.

So Alchemist has prevented the "Mushroom Kingdom" from forming in the mountain base?

No version of Poison Ivy/ Princess Toadstool?

Once it was cleaned, does he need to clean it again as a maintenance fee?

When Batman meets him to return his hand, will he make jokes on "You scratch my back, I will scratch yours?"

Will young Zatara, not Giovanni "John" Zatara, end up visiting Alchemist and forming an interest?

Why is Black Canary acting like this? Out of character moment

How is that out of character?

Do you have any idea how bad the ecological disaster would be if super-speed mice escaped containment and began to breed and spread in the wild? Their population would explode out of control and they'd dominate any ecosystem they'd be a part of, which given superspeed, would be potentially all of them. They'd out-compete so many other animals and be unstoppable by predation, that it could easily lead to mass extinctions of non super-powered animals across the globe.

No wonder experimenting on animals with super powers without some form of regulation is illegal. This isn't like Alchemist's Cats. They at least won't potentially share their super-powers to their children given their powers are from the Gamer system. The Super Speed formulas in Young Justice however are entirely divorced from the Speed Force, and enhance anyone that take it on a biological level that allows even their grandchildren to have similar powers decades later.

Black Canary is completely reasonable to freak out about the potential chaos involved with barely supervised teenagers giving super powers to lab rats.
