So... he just gave himself in? Why?
Because he can bilocate himself to be elsewhere while he is in custody? And/or also set up a fresh clone of himself as a 'in case of premature death' respawn point in his personal Pocket Dimension only he has easy access to? (Including escape by self inflicted death if necessary)

It's not like cooperating with them here actually limits him all that much.

For me the case of Endeavour is interesting. And rare in fiction.

He was a child abuser, there is no denying that. But he also not black tar evil, like so many characters are.

He was wrong, it was wrong, and he shouldn't just be forgiven for it. But he also tries to be better later on, tried to atone.

This man, who abused his family in a several decade long period of perpetual and fanatical level inferiority complex, also personally saved the lives of countless innocent people, both DURING and after this period.

It's horribly grey and I love it.

Reminds me of a more extreme version of my father when I was younger. He used to drink a lot more, be in a generally worse place, and drunk him didn't understand how frightening to a child he was. I went to therapy to talk about him.

But he always tried. He'd tell stories of his father and his older brother. About how as a child his brother would take their fathers abuse to protect both them and his mother. About how his relationship with that same brother fell apart to the point he wouldn't let him interact with our family (not that he tried).

I still remember him asking me is if I'd care is he died. He was so very certain I wouldn't, I could hear it in his voice. My father made a lot of mistakes, and he has made further mistakes in my adult life. But I love him all the same, I genuinely do. I see to much of myself in him to ever hate him.

So I certainly understand how Shouto feels in season 4. My younger brother is basically his spitting image attitude wise.

The biggest problem with both Endeavour and explosion lad is that their redemptions happen way too late and it is quite unsatisfactory.

I think Endeavour works fine as a character, to have the second most popular Hero be secretly a child abuser works wonderfully for a certain type of story.

Now Isuku "Best friend" that... wow.

I do not care if it is Japan, how come no one noticed and cared how abusive the relationship was? Parents and teachers are supposed to.pick stuff like that and it was like a decade of abuse anyway? And in front of the adults!

Worse as much as Izuku grows both in power and as character he never realises that "Yes I was abused and no, that's not okay."

Worse with Isuku being Quitkless it has the extremely unfortunately implication that the teachers just looked the other way when the top student abused a disabled kid.

And even then that's not what ruins MHA for me, is that stuff like that is never addressed correctly.

Eri should have been the point when Izuku realises that just like is bad that Eri was abused it is also bad that he was abused.

Yet...

Ugh.

Anyway, how to fo kill Zeus permanently? Or you seal him away?

Too bad Alchemist can't do Ki sruff.

Zeus deserves to be sealed away in a rice cooker.

I'd say Zeus deserves to be sealed as the battery in a private toy for Hera, but I don't remember if the DC version of her keeps accepting him back like a battered wife sure he'll be better this time and would just let him out again, or is likely to do it out of sheer spite at a mortal besting a god.

This is not QQ.

Now one thing you have to understand about Old Gods is that in some way they are trapped by their stories. While New Gods are defined by what they are God of, Old Gods are defined by mortal perceptions of them.

Hera is a marriage goddess, but while a new god/goddess of marriage could say "Fuck it divorce is part of marriage so is marrying a second time" Hera story is that she has an asshole of a husband and that she is a petty bitch that takes revenge on Zeus victims.

As a result Old Gods they have a very hard time changing.

Or at least that's one interpretation of things.

Now Isuku "Best friend" that... wow.
I never viewed them as friends. I didn't feel like they are meant to be viewed as friends either, it's certainly never said anywhere. They are rivals, and not healthy rivals. Their second fight in season 4 (I think, it's been a while) very much illustrates this, they are at each other's throats, and if a few of their more vicious attacks connected one of them very much could have died, and definitely would have been in an ambulance.

They used to be friends as young children, and even though he speaks against the nickname rather vehemently, he doesn't exactly 'let' anybody else call him Kacchan either. Not without sock to the nose. As before, a nice and grey, complicated relationship. I do very much enjoy Kohei Horikoshi's character writing.

Also, I do wanna mention, in canon, nothing much past threats and verbal abuse has been shown, except in the one flash back when they were toddlers. Izuku going home every day with bruises and burns is overly persistent fanon, schools ignore plenty of injustice sometimes, but they seldom ignore actual physical abuse. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but assuming the worst isn't really fair.

Threats of violence and suicide baiting are indeed abuse, but I make sure to remember that he is a kid, not even 16. He's not a monster, he's a misguided child. His parents should pay more attention to him, instead of assuming he shouts because he's like his mother, and not because of some anger issues.

Where do you think he gets all his issues and behavior from? His mother is just as bad if not worse to Bakugo than he is to other people, it's learned behavior from a personal example that was never corrected because it was encouraged.

Missguided child or not behaviour like that if not corrected and even worse encouraged like it is in MHA, not only it doesn't stop, it gets worse.

Isuku could have ended killing himself and that's why Western audiences tend to fixate in "Katsuki Bakugo" not getting punished.

Never think verbal abuse is "better" that just violence. Abuse is still abuse no matter what form it takes. In fact verbal abuse can be worse because it is harder to detect so sometimes, no real world examples, is too late.

The biggest problem with MHA is how bad the schooling is shown to be at stopping students from being abusive, not just on a podunk school but in the "Best Hero School of Japan".

You have teachers in MHA tolerating Mineta being a pervert, until a long time later, and you have teachers tolerating Bakugo actitude, even if he toned it down compared to his previous school because he knows that if he pushes too hard he would get expelled.

If that is the "best" Hero school of Japan, no wonder the setting is such a mess. Heck it would be interesting to explore an AU were All For One really did get killed and the setting has not really changed for the better due to certain actitudes and bad education.

Because if what happened to Izuku as a kid is the normal? It wouldn't surprise me that ends in tragedy or in villain origin stories.

Anime Adjacent: BNHA 11
Shota Aizawa did not appreciate being called by Nedzu. It didn't particularly matter -why- the rat was calling, he didn't want to deal with the menacing little sophist. Ever.

It made for a relatively difficult relationship between them, what with Nedzu being his boss on his day-job. Aizawa had the misfortune of being one of the menace's favorite targets.

Personally, Aizawa chalked that up to the fact that he refused to pay any special attention to Nedzu and that probably did something to the chimera's instincts. Like how alleycats adored anyone that tried to ignore them.

Getting called after school had let out and he'd sent the current batch of hero aspirants home? Aizawa had some choice words for the rodent, none of them good. He didn't like having his midday nap interrupted before he was set to return to his investigations on a missing persons case.

Of course, the little shit knew the right words to get Aizawa up and moving. 'Highly dangerous individual with unknown capabilities' wasn't that pressing for him. There were other people that could suppress dangerous Quirks. They were rare but Aizawa knew that at least two such people worked with the police. Golden Rule and Chatterbox could both do that particular job.

'A young child with an unknown but dangerous Quirk, recently extracted from an abusive environment' got him moving at double time, however.

Now, Aizawa was tired. Aizawa had been working all day trying to get his class to understand that there was more to Heroics than some thrice-damned popularity contest. He was exhausted and should not, under any circumstances, be put around children.

Thankfully, he'd found himself in a room with Nedzu and some tall, skinny blond man alongside a few other officers and heroes to watch a presentation.

"Quite frankly, we have more data than we know what to do with, some of it is contradictory and almost all of it paints a, frankly, fantastical picture." Nedzu stated, standing on the table at the front of the room.

Nedzu was enjoying this.

"Our current issue involves an individual of unknown age. Named 'Alec', he appears to have a dragon transformation quirk similar to, if not nearly identical, to Ryukyu." The lights dimmed as Nedzu manipulated a remote with both paws before an overhead projector kicked on. "This marks the second time that he's been held in police custody, though we're uncertain as to whether or not he can be held without extraneous and expensive countermeasures coming in to play."

Aizawa took a deep quaf of his coffee as Nedzu cycled through a series of photos and video stills. The huge dragon with midnight black scales and covered in twinkling stars was interesting. It didn't explain why Nedzu had called for him, though.

"I'm assuming the wings and claws aren't for show, are they?" A woman asked. She wore a loose red Chinese dress with a claw-like hairpiece in her short blond hair.

"Well, the claws haven't seen any use so far but he has been caught on several cameras flying." Nedzu responded, fiddling with the remote to swap over to a slide of the suspect... Flying away from a police station.

This police station.

Aizawa's confidence could not possibly go any lower.

"Now, ideally none of you will actually be needed." And Aizawa was wrong. Nedzu -could- drop his confidence through the floor. "The suspect has proven surprisingly compliant. However Alec has a multitude of capabilities that we are aware of and no real knowledge as to how to interact with them..."

"Such as teleportation." An officer picked up where Nedzu had trailed off, the Quirked animal hopping off the table and making a beeline for the drinks. Coffee and tea. "Potentially possession, though that was a one-time case and he's made no mention of being the one to perform the act. Shapeshifting as well, though now that he's exited his host we also don't know if he retained that capability. He's also our sole suspect in a widescale use of... We're really not sure. More than one-hundred members of the leading Yakuza group are the victims of what's being termed 'Forceful material re-composition'."

"...What kind of Quirk does he have, exactly?" Midnight, the M-Rated hero asked. Her voice was absent of its usual enthusiasm. "The ability to be a fantasy character?"

"We have no idea!" Nedzu chirped as he got back up on the table through strategic use of various office chairs. "If his claims are accurate, he hasn't got a Quirk! However, considering the wide array of capabilities he's shown we've requested the three of you specifically to counter his currently known abilities. Assuming you are able, of course."

"...And what does this have to do with a child in danger, Rat?" Aizawa finally asked, getting to the meat of the real issue.

"...Yes, well. Former danger, really." Which short-circuited the little nuisance and his word games quite nicely. The screen behind them shifted to show a small room with a child-sized bed. There were dried bloodstains on virtually everything, though a single large footprint in front of the door had been highlighted in blue. "For reasons yet to be determined, the suspect may have broken into the Yakuza Headquarter, petrified all involved individuals except for a sole child that was the focus of needless and wasteful experimentation and then disappeared. Without being caught on any of the on-site cameras."

A different man stood up and took the remote from Nedzu, the chimera happily handing it over so he could instead sit and watch. This man, wearing a rather bland business suit, stood out due to the odd coloration of his hair. A trio of bright yellow stripes that clashed noticeably with his dark green hair.

"I am Mirai Sasaki. Also known as the hero, Sir Nighteye. My agency was one of the many that were investigating the Yakuza branch known as the Shie Hassaikai. While it is true that the perpetrator of the attack on them was not clearly or directly observed on camera, that does not mean that clues to his presence were not left behind." The projector's image shifted as the man manipulated the controls, shifting to a split-screen image of an empty corridor. The brightness of both images changed dramatically until the image was nearly washed out before playing.

The details were impossible for Aizawa to really determine but there was a large, noticeable distortion that traveled down the corridor, the light that traveled through it subtly warping, before it turned out of sight.

"We're still working with experts to get the image quality improved." Nighteye admitted to the assembled group. "However we can at least determine, based on the footprint that was left behind and the general size and shape of this... Mostly invisible creature, that an individual matching Alec's former dimensions may have been directly involved in Vigilante activity."

"...Well, this isn't exactly something I can do much with." The Dragon Hero, Ryukyu admitted. "Aside from possibly fighting him in aerial combat? Assuming he wouldn't simply teleport away? I'm not entirely sure why I was called here on a priority alert."

"That was my doing, actually." Nedzu admitted to the woman. "I was hoping that you would be willing to assist from an observation booth and clarify Alec's body language during questioning for the interrogating officer. With the rarity of your quirk and the similarity between your two forms, we are hoping that you might help to offer clarity with his, ah, proclivity for mysterious statements."

"And you want me nearby to try and cancel and Quirks this vigilante might have." Aizawa sighed and rubbed at his tired eyes. He didn't need to see the rat nodding to him. "What about the child? Are they safe?"

"Yes." Nighteye answered, pushing his glasses back up his nose. "Safe, clean, well-fed and wearing new clothes. Though she is understandably anxious considering the bond she seems to have formed with the vigilante. We have a member of the local Social Care checking on her now."

"So. Potentially severe charges of Vigilantism, escaping police custody and... Are those it?" Aizawa had to ask, the details, while impressive, did not seem especially actionable.

"Yes, and the only one of those with actual evidence that we can act on is his escaping from police custody." The officer, who never did introduce himself, sighed in exasperation. "Given that it was done non-violently? And that he surrendered himself back into police custody? The courts are overburdened with actual cases of villainy. Unless we have something actionable it's just not worth our time or money to pursue this."

"Regardless of pursuing charges on Alec, there are some serious allegations that he's made that I want clarified." The tall, skeletal blond man that had been mostly silent finally spoke up. Aizawa felt a surprising amount of force in his presence. The man, for how slight he seemed, carried a kind of strength that pushed against Aizawa's exhaustion and forced him to straighten his spine.

"Of course, Yagi." And it even had Nedzu deferring to him politely. Aizawa knew what it meant when an animal curled its tail underneath of itself. "What do you think we need to follow up on?"

"He outright stated that Endeavor is abusing his children." The murmuring and whispering in the room went silent at this Yagi's words. "And he promised answers."

"...I see." Nedzu's ears were almost flat against his skull. Aizawa could see the small creature was struggling to control a hiss from escaping. "Yes, we'll be sure to ask him about that."

Aizawa stood up, ignoring the heavy atmosphere in the room. He didn't know what all was going to happen, no, but he did know one thing.

He was going to need more coffee.

While I am glad to see more of this I wish this was combined with a chapter with them interacting with Alec. Can't wait for him to bamboozle them some more.

i get you have to set the world building and the scene, so I can only wait until things actually happen instead of all the peakcoking that's going on.

Ooh. Nezu is pissed. He loves children, and I can't see him not equating an abused child to his own abuse at the hands of those he was powerless against, especially when the abuser gets away with it.

And Endeavor is screwed. Having the smartest creature on the planet, one with a significant craving for schadenfreude and an incredible talent for getting what he wants, that upset at you is a good way to find yourself with a life full of horrible "bad luck" and suffering.

Aizawa is going to need something harder than Coffee in a few minutes that's for damn sure.

Also, lol, the ooc knowledge that literally nothing they can do would be enough to either contain or kill him is hilarious(Especially if he's set up more clone bodies-which he should have for obvious reasons.).

What do you think we need to follow up on?
Loving this still. Also appreciating the mix of fluff and serious. You're really cranking these out though, and the shifting perspectives work.

My one advice is don't get too bogged down in rehashing reveals. He's already dropped done and few so either just him adding on rather than lots of "new people ask the same questions to get to what he already said he would say before he says it." I've done it on accident before and it makes me less hyped to write.

Also excited for eraserhead bluescreening on an Out of Context power he can't stop.

How I would love to see this animated out, so we could see the looks on everyone's faces when they realize that Alec's "quirk" can't be suppressed at all, and their oncoming realization that maybe it isn't actually a quirk, just like the magical dragon said.

Having the smartest creature on the planet

Netzu is smart but not THAT smart. Otherwise he would have actually found out before anyone else that "No body means All For One is probably still alive."

"Dude isn't the guy supposed to have like hundreds of Quirks? Even if he can only use a dozen and change at the same time, how hard is to fake his own death for a guy like that?"

Nobody's perfect. Even Nezu. At least he's not Dumbledore levels of incompetent.

I know. Still, as you mentioned, the prep work is important. Otherwise we have a bunch of characters attached to a scene without any clue how they got there or what they're supposed to be doing.

The cops? It's their precinct and they better be involved.

Yagi and Nedzu? Yagi was involved from the start and his secrets getting fondled by Regenerate drew in the Rat.

Mirai? His case got turned inside out. He's got a little relevant information and it crossed over because of that. He's not really sure how he feels about All Might getting better. Hopeful that the future will change? Or terrified because now the future has changed?

Aizawa and Midnight? Two very competent heroes capable of annulling an opposing quirk and/or putting someone to sleep non-lethally. It's a shame that Al here 1: Doesn't have a Quirk or some nebulous 'Quirk Factor' and B: Considers breathing to be optional.

Ryukyu? Actually a fantastic idea. She's the one option they have that could be considered an expert on Al's non-standard body type. Obviously, as she's not trained to cold-read, it won't be amazing but it might still offer Nedzu and the like some additional insight into Cthulhu's pet dragon here.

My take is that he is part ferret/minx and so he has attention deficit disorder.

There are a lot of different kinds of smart. Looking at puzzles and being able to solve them fast usually implies strong concrete thinking skills but isn't really a good metric for abstract thinking.

Similarly, he's only as good as the information he gets. If nobody mentions that OfA went missing post death, his ability to think about it is pretty slim. And considering the fight happened in Japan and reputation is more important than the truth over there? I would not be surprised, in the slightest, if the coroner/mortician/whatever title they use over there just 'conveniently' forgot to mention that 'Hey, the really high profile corpse I was trusted with? Yeah, some old guy up and walked out with it.'

This right here with reputation being more important than the actual truth or them doing their jobs cuts deep and hurt because this just scream a job I had to deal with a while back.

Really? I'm loving the suspense and trying to guess where this is going to go. Each of these characters has agency and is making decisions with no input from Alec. That's so rare in fanfiction, and this short is really really well done too
