Honestly having the parliament build and manage our IC and infrastructure where their greater abilty to get all of the fiddly details right with their larger manpower while having the Haddyth (what would the feminine form of that be?) handle foriegn affairs and diplomacy with their ability to be able to consistent over the years is best.

Certainly better than the other way around.
 
I must say that railway + moar PW sounds more useful.
Rail doesn't they us anything other than +1 to max development... when we already have 20, and we plan to build rail companies that will get us several max development each turn.

More PW is also nice, but not as nice as the Hung synergy. Those two actions will build up Hun significantly more than just a PT alone would.

Also edges us towards a more modern Executive/Legislative split.

If we're going to retain some form of Monarchy, then King/Queen as Head of State doing foreign relations (and policy for now at least) with all that dynastic prestige is probably one of the viable models.

The parlament will still have 8 Temp IC to play with, and we will be 1 step closer to +1 edu and +1 SoL.

Getting +1 edu and +1 SoL normally costs 6 PW and 6 temp IC to get. Spending 0 PW and 16 temp IC is a good value exspecially if we can drip into it with spare IC.

8 Temp IC is nothing, when parliament has to simultaneously build Railway corporations, increase IC, and think about all the other bloody IC sinks that we now have. Doing railway actions ourselves outside of the railway companies is distinctly inefficient.

And the Walrus isn't going to RDIx2 immidiatly to end up with 16(10) IC? It's what Walruses do after all.

The conservitives then found a company to expand to the baltic sea and the nobility raises 3 temp army stacks and sells 2 more stacks of obsolete weapons to the Hung.

We end up half way rearmed, Hung is most the way to a modern army, and the king starts his turn with a ton of perm IC and a ton of PW.

Innovation 15 for the army increases is difficult now that we don't have the easy stream of consciousness, but SoL will definitely be a thing, if I can swing it by the others.
 
We pump SoL so we can pump edu/ino so we can pump consciousness so we can pump innovation.

6 temp IC and 6 PW buys us +1 SoL/+1 edu/ +1.5inno without decreasing happiness.

and we, the king, get 6PW a round. We need 18 IC so we can do this consistantly.

And 3 temp IC and 4 PW gets us +2 perm innovation with little drawback.

Also, with so much development at our fingertips I am sorely tempted to suggest RDI + increase SoL with ICx2 as a 5 PW positive action. +2 SoL and +1 pollution for -1temp IC.

Kiel will remain neutral, yes. But it's liable to always lean towards us. The Sketch are known to be unreliable while the Dual Crown is exceedingly dependable. Also, unlike with the Sketch, we can walk to them with our army. And the economics also favour us. So there are goo chances to actually get them to side with us. Because if the Sketch explode again, they will need us.
I'd note that neutrality is not necessarily in the Kielmyr's best interests. It needs the DC to survive currently because we are the primary source of the coal and ore they use, and it wants the Sketch because they sell their steel to the whole world.

They need the DC more than the Sketch at present, and a strong enough push gets them in our camp if a Great War breaks out, especially if they have their own domestic ironclad fleet to shrug off the Sketchy plans
I'm increasing worry about the desire to have Crown take unpopular options for the parliament to spent. It tips the population perception to the wrong viewpoint. It should be the parties taking unpopularity for crown to remain popular and stable, after all the parties have power now and they should pay for it.
The parties are inherently populist at this. We're taking essential international diplomacy, which is less unpopular and more not-aware actions.

Unpopular actions would be the Crown Raising Taxes, Slashing Education, raising Pollution or taking national humiliation(defaulting bonds) to pay for party spending.
 
That is one reason we really need to push trunk lines. Iron is hard to ship via boat. It is heavy and dense. Boats are good at lighter materials in high volume. Trains are one of the most efficent ways to more iron ore, coal, and steel. We see it even today. I work at a metal fab shop that exists because the rails are here.

With inter market trains they have an alternative to the Sketch if they want one.

And then we start talking about them "staying neutral" but GOUGING the sketch for SoL and splitting the profit with us to soften the Sketch stranglehold on our SoL in case of a war.

Yes I am aware. However Presidents do normally become associated with foreign policy, and most of their successes will be focused in that aspect in modern presidents.

Mainly because of all that filibustering and party politics that infects American domestic politics, whilst Executive abilities on foreign affairs are so much more liberated.
