[X] [Army] Protect endangered civilian populations
[X] [Khem] 1 PW - Found Khemetri Rail Company (-2 IC, doubles rail production rate for Khem, provides SoL once completed and begins work on other rails)
[X] [Congress] 1 PW - Press for your own interests in supporting the Behryvar and Styrmyr on your terms (-2 temp Trust, small chance of triggering another Syffryn War)
[X] [Temp] Yes (Speech is 0 PW for Conservative Party next turn)

[X] [Congress] 0 PW - Send a token observer and stay out of it (-5 Prestige, +1 temp Trust)
[X] [Congress] 1 PW - Press for your own interests in supporting the Behryvar and Styrmyr on your terms (-2 temp Trust, small chance of triggering another Syffryn War)
[X] [Khem] 1 PW - Found Khemetri Rail Company and give extra investment (-2 IC, -3 temp IC, founds Khemetri company as above, adds an extra rail action to the project this turn)
[X] [Temp] All-In (Makes Speech Early, ???)

@Academia Nut

Can we generate a perm stat point and choose not to also generate the temp stat that fills it?

Increasing Edu/Ino is a lot gentler in the short term if we don't fill the temp edu immediately.

IC it would be hard commitments for funding of schools and universities but not funding them immediately. IE creating a 6 year education reform plan and ramming it through parlament knowing it will take years to unfold.

Ideally I would love a +edu action that only changed perm scores, so it leave 1 temp SoL sitting around, basically delaying the effect until a regen or two.

Basically +1 edu, +1 Ino, +1 temp SoL, -1 Teml Edu, -1 temp ino, -1 SoL.

At least make it -2 Temp Edu/Temp Inno, otherwise just leaving it to the regen is too easy.

Why would setting aside hard commitments for future education funding decrease our current education?

Basically I am looking at a law that says something like "taxes go up by X soread out over X years, the funds go durectly to forming schools"

Mechanically this is +/-perm stats with no change in temp stats.

Edit - Ah, so the conservitives could expand edu ×3, cut edu funding x1 and increase Perm SoL by 1.

Let me crunch stats over 3 turns.

First turn, +1 edu/ino. -1 SoL.
Second turn, +1 edu/ino, -1 SoL
Third turn, +1 edu/ino.

That... That would be survivable exspecially if we spend edu to make hospitals (+.5 happiness) and tackle pollution via rails and sewers / increase SoL more.

Why are we boosting Edu all of a sudden?
something something people are trying to minmax, without asking if they should minmax.

If both the royalist and liberals rebrand right now, the conservative party gets practically all the power in the House. Which would allow them to do like 5 edu actions without spending a single PW. So the thread is trying to find a way to make that sustainable. because of course they are.

That does depend on this counting as a special case for the Conservatives, who normally really don't like Cut Education Funding.

A bill that promises to give us +1 edu per turn over the next 3 turns without setting us completly on fire seems like something they would go for. Technically we cut funding, but at no point does our funding ever drop.

I doubt we'll increase education without a corresponding raise SoL action.

I find the mechanics interesting and fun. Besides, even if we don't make super conservitives, increase edux2 + cut education funding is a valid bill.

Plus doing x5 raise edu actions a turn might let us leapfrog up the tech tree again. So instead of constantly being behind in techs we might finally be ahead again. That and the need for skilled workers will constantly increase as the march for industry ramps up.
Just need to not explode from the increase pressure from a smarter populace.

For the love of Crow, don't do FIVE Raise Edu actions in a single turn. One or two, fine, but if you do FIVE at once we're going to have to spend alot of PW over multiple turns on dealing with the potential issues that are going to pop up. That's PW we can't use for other things, like building Sewers, Hospitals, Rails, more Industry, doing Diplomacy etc. And we're always short on PW so....

At this point, people are going to work drunk. It's not some imaginary problem.
way too miss read my comment.

i might have understood what was written about it in the chapter but i did say i supported limits yes? not bans!

also temperance movement wanted to ban alcohol for everyone everywhere and the one country they got that legal then went "f u, you don`t tell me i can not drink when i want too" and the then small mafia and other criminals got wealth selling booz.

sure booz at work and being drunk at work it down sure but that because ppl want to drink less. thats because ppl sue the companie when they get hurt while drunk and the company doesn`t want to bay for shit

Oddly enough we COULD cut edu every turn and delay and delay until we can claw back the SoL needed to let the edu to raise itself back up.

Having 4 edu over temp edu lets us cut funding 1/round to balance the recovery and make 1 temp SoL.

Now, we spent 4 PERM SoL to get that, bit we can balance it without spending PW so long as we don't need the edu at that moment.

also temperance movement wanted to ban alcohol for everyone everywher

A movement should not be judged solely on the basis of its most extreme implementation. The failures of US Prohibition should act as a caution against going too far with a good idea, not against the entire notion of temperance.

Greetings comrades! I bring modding news!

That, plus a preliminary division of the Balkans (woo, fun times). All the Vortuguese colonies are also included, as are big changes to south and west Africa. Changed a few things in North Africa to encourage friction between Khemetri and Hespranxer at the start of the game. :D

HanEmpire and Random Member were great help when it came to the Balkan division, so extra big thanks to them :)

EDIT: Tomorrow is either Balkans, Sketch or New Hespranxer. Reach out to me on discord or in PM if you have requests or ideas for flags or border changes.

I still think every single Balkan province should've been its own nation, but alas.
