[X] Tell Morgan that your newest Spell interrupted the radio-contact for the first time, before you destroyed it; explain what it does if she wants to know
-[X] That might happen again
[X] Megatherium
-[X] It lives in a woodland; find its position with Thermal Sense and keep yourself far above in the air, then prepare a few Thermal Spears
--[X] If it is definitely asleep, try to mess with its body temperature to kill it. Since you're not using magic, it might believe it caught some sort of illness.
-[X] Dodge anything it might throw at you and keep your Ignition Aura active around your armour just in case
-[X] Once the spears are ready, encircle it with fire and rain the spears down on it all at once, then follow this up with a Plasma Sphere
-[X] If it is not dead after that but took damage, just carry on as before
--[X] Otherwise, drop in with Infinity Edge after setting everything in the vicinity ablaze and extending Ignition Aura to its maximum range
--[X] Use Halt to stop it from moving whenever you can
[X] No promises are made, but you will try not to destroy this radio

I'll give you a little while to make sure you want to use this Battle Plan
I still say this is a terrible idea. We should avoid going into melee range against the fast creature with claws.
Edit: changed the plan a bit

Spell Boost: Allows a user to add their weapon's MM and Base Damage to a given spell at will. It represents a weapon that someone can use as a magical channeling instrument, like a staff or wand/sword-thing like Fairy Battle Mages use.

You move your hand over and tap the Megatherium. "It can't fly right?" She shakes her head. "It shouldn't be a problem then, just gotta stay out of reach and bombard it from a distance." You clip the new radio to your belt again as you stand. "I'll try not to break this one too, but they really aren't built to work with the heat. I had to constantly keep it from melting yesterday before it broke."
Morgan sighs and makes a note of something. "I'll ask if they can't make something a little more resistant, don't expect much though, runes are finicky at the best of times. Maybe they'll figure out why it cut out too."
"Ah, actually, I think I know why that is." She turns to look at you over her shoulder as you pull your other shoe on. "I used a spell I created the other day on myself, I basically Halt something for a while. I think that's what made the signal go all fuzzy for a while." She nods as she makes another note, Una handing you your hoodie. When you slide it on, you lean down and pick her up in a great big hug. You squeeze her tightly before setting her back down.
The ride north takes a while, you spent two hours driving before you finally arrived. Your location today was... a forest. There wasn't anything particularly special about it, there weren't any towns nearby or farms, it was just an out of the way forest. Well, at least I don't need to worry about collateral damage. Your driver gives you a thumbs up before he rolls the window up and starts driving. He'd actually told you where he was going this time, there was a rest-stop five miles or so down the road, he was going to wait there until you gave him the all clear or five hours had passed. In a quiet, ignored corner of your mind, you knew that he meant 'if you died' instead of 'if the fight took that long'.
Still, you summon your Armour in it's usual flash of light, taking to the sky with a pulse of reinforcement. You know, I'm not really sure about the whole call out my Magical Girl name thing. I feels kind of... wrong? To not do it. You shake your head and clear your mind, a thought for later, not now. You stretch your thermal sense to its maximum range and start combing through the forest.
It takes you a good twenty minutes, mostly on account of how slow you were flying, before you felt a big blip at the edge of your range. When you float closer, making sure to stay at least thirty metres off of the ground, you catch a glimpse of it through the tree-tops. It was just a flash of white, but white is a very distinctive colour, so your eyes caught it immediately. The heat source continues bounding through the forest at a rapid pace, much faster than you can fly. It must be moving at a good fifty, maybe even sixty miles an hour. Fucking hell am I glad that I can fly. You spare a brief thought as to what it would be like to fight this thing inside a crampt forest, before promptly labelling the idea 'Nightmare Fuel' and firmly putting it out of your mind.
You follow behind it as best you can, before you feel it start slowing down. Eventually, it settles into it's spot and stays there. You leave it for another ten minutes, tensely keeping your eyes locked on where it is through the trees. When it stops moving, you guess that it is resting, probably not sleeping just yet, but you don't have the patience to wait for that.
You carefully form a single spear of fire and watch it's signature, it doesn't move at all. Ok then. You form another, still nothing. And Plan A is a go. You slowly spend the next several minutes forming spears, until you have forty floating around you in a ring, slowly rotating clockwise. You carefully form a ball of Plasma, making sure to keep the heat contained and away for any senses it might have. By the time it is fully formed, you are sweating slightly. Not from the heat, but from the strain of keeping so many different masses of magic collected as you are.
You point your arm forwards, the tip of your sword pointing straight at your target as your projectiles follow the movement, and you narrow your eyes. The ends of the spears sharpen slightly, the flames going from a fuzzy blur to a nearly straight line and you fire. The spears rocket away from you, cutting a glowing line through the sky as the circle converges onto their target. You have the barest moment to feel it suddenly shoot into motion before they impact.
(Thermal Spear: +90 Base Damage, +20 Dice, +42 Spell Boost = 152 Total Damage
152 x 40 = 6080 Total Damage
Megatherium: +70 Base Resilience, +7 Dice, +500 Very Fast, +100 Prepared to dodge = 677 Total Reduction
5403 Total End Damage
Large: 25% Damage Reduction
4052 Final End Damage
Megatherium : 800 - 4052 = -3252)
The forest below you vanishes. There is a flash of light, so bright that it blinds you even through your closed eyelids and your floating form is hit with a wall of air strong enough to send you flying. You catch yourself by summoning a sword behind you and lining your feet up with it, even then, your landing sets cracks all the way up the blade.
You blink harshly, your ears ringing as you frantically concentrate on keeping the ball of plasma in your hands from exploding. You siphon the heat away, letting it just bleed off into the air. When it cools enough not to explode, you let the rest of the heat escape in a single wave, carefully directing it away from your Radio this time.
Your eyes are still seeing nothing but a white blur and the ringing in your ears is still as loud as it was, so you carefully start your healing as you sense below you for your target. You put out the fire below you, to find that there was nothing but ash. There was no body, no burned land, even the rocks it had been lying on were gone. You take a shaky breath as your vision clears more, showing you the sheer devastation you had wrought on the area. You spread your sense around, even at it's top speed it couldn't have moved beyond your sensing range.
You find nothing, no area's of not-control. The forest is perfectly normal. Did... did I get it? It was that easy? The ringing in your ears is starting to subside as your body rushes towards healing it and you just float there in disbelief. You slowly move your arm over and flick the switch on the radio, setting it to transmit. "I uh... I think I got it."
Morgan's reply is swift. "You think? How can you not be sure?"
You cough a little awkwardly as you start floating back towards where you had started, you take the opportunity to try pushing yourself faster, it would take you forever at this pace. "Well, I kind of just... disintegrated the entire clearing it was in?"
The line is silent for a moment, and you hear Morgan let out a long sigh. "Ok then, I'm assuming that you can't sense it anymore?" Your silence speaks for you. "Right, right. We'll send someone over to check if it's actually dead, but it probably is. They aren't the most durable creatures." You hear her shuffle several papers before she speaks again. "Alright, you want me to put dinner on? I was thinking about Shepard's Pie tonight."
You smile as you manage to speed up slightly, your form wavering but definitely going faster. "That sounds great, are you going to put anything else on the mince?"
"No, I was thinking of having it plain, unless you have any ideas." She speaks again before you can. "And no, Ketchup doesn't count."
You pout a little as you manage to stabilise your flight, the air flowing over your form in a very comfortable way. You set down in the field, your driver arriving only minutes later. You quietly dismiss your armour as you clamber into the back, resting on the comfortable seats as he hands you a bottle of water. "Everything go well then? Not even a scratch on 'ya." His voice is deep, a rumbling timbre underneath making him sound more like a small bear than a man.
You nod as you take a sip. "Yes, it was pretty easy actually."
He lets out a chuckle at that. "Well now, that's something. I've heard horror stories about the damn things, jumpin about from tree to tree faster than you can see, stalkin you from nowhere. That sorta thing."
You shake your head as he pulls onto the motorway. "No, I just floated above and waited for it to stop moving, then I dropped as much firepower as I could onto it. I did see how fast it moved through, fuck fighting that in a forest."
He nods appreciatively, but doesn't say anything else. You make it most of the way back home before you hear your Radio crackle to life, Morgan's voice coming through clearly. "Hey uhh, you should be near... Hodesdon right?" You repeat the name to your driver.
"Mmm, we're maybe half an hour away."
You repeat the time to Morgan and she sighs. "Right, we've got some guys over there who are having trouble with some sort of regenerating swarm. Not amazingly dangerous, but they don't have the firepower on hand to deal with it. Do you mind diverting to give them a hand? You don't need to, but it would mean that we can move them on to somewhere else sooner."
