Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

... *Giggles madly* *Stops suddenly* ... Right. Flight 9 to 13. Slow.

I'm pretty sure the thunderbird is the polar opposite of 'low and slow' with dat flight 9-13...
Well...

13*5 = 65mph maximum estimated flight speed.

Yeah, that's pretty slow by flight standards. Fast for something "biological" in nature, but slower than anything humans put in the air or build weapons to shoot down.

This doesn't answer my question.

Oh so what did you need then? I thought that adding the weapon stats to the spell was all that was really needed. Create the spell and then give it a boost.

SPELL + weapon stats
X+ 107?=y

forgive my math formula's I haven't done a class in years.

Storm bound is interesting, given how storms form and dissipate I wonder what would happen if we use our temperature control to get rid of the storm.

... No more lightning bolts? At least that would be one thing we don't have to worry about then.

Thing's still going to be going 90+ mph faster than us and we literally can't even track that without High-Speed Combat. It's basically an Auto-lose condition to not have a level of High-speed combat high enough to keep up with the opponenet, because you both lose track of them and they lap you. I.E. You lose your turn and they get two for your one... I think, the only time that cropped up... well, nepgear was just fast enough to keep up, no one could react before it happened, and we one-shot her, so we never really got the low-down on that.

Honestly, trying to out fly the Thunderbird is probably not the best idea since it is faster than we will be even if we buy more flight. Therefore, I think it would be better to use Halt to stop its movement which would both negate its speed advantage and prevent its escape which was mentioned to be a concern.

The human eye can track objects moving over 200mph.
The bigger they are, the easier they are to track.

This doesn't mean that you can react to those speeds, just that you aren't going to 'lose sight of it'
This isn't Anime land where speed = teleportation if you can't see it

Ignition Knight has an advantage in her aura effects, which don't require her direct action to function. Somewhat.

Can also just explode everything, which usually works.

*Shrug* Yeah, that's what High-Speed Combat is. Ability that let's you react to others moving at those speeds. I suppose that just means we'll see the thing swing around to peck us to death instead of it doing anime-style teleportation.

Well, I think the vote is pretty unanimous for [] Divert

Am going to go make a cuppa, then I'll start on the next chapter.

Well the bad new is we don't have high speed combat, but look on the bright side:

It doesn't have Boosted Flight. It cannot go zero to 100 on the dot. We just need to make sure that it doesn't have time to build up speed, and maybe even stop it from being able to reach its max speed even if it has open sky.

It is always found in a storm, and storm has water, we can freeze the air around it, or freeze the water on it to weigh it down/cut off certain directions for flight. If we weigh it down with enough ice (though that would be a lot and would assume that the bird can't stop the storm on its own once it realizes what we are doing), we could even forcibly ground it. If it can end the storm, fire in one area and not in the other can make turning, and therefore losing speed seem like the best option, and there would probably still be enough moisture in the air for some ice shenanigans anyway.

Halt if it absolutely manages to pull out of all our other methods so that we can cause it to pause long enough to have to try to build up speed.

Seal off its movement so it can never hit max speed. It is something we can deal with.

Dodging Lightning is… something I doubt we'll manage, though we might be able to move in a sudden change of direction thanks to sword boost. Causing the area it targeted the spell at to no longer be where we are.

Thunderbird isn't unwinnable at all. Depending on plan and how stormbound works, it might not even be hard, though it will be more difficult than the trees or wolf.

I mean, you can vote to get Flight 5 and buy it. If the XP exists.
Look at the preqs in the shop, we don't need flight at level 5, but at the same time we specifically need training before we can get high-speed combat, xp alone isn't enough.

We aren't nepgear, how we get high-speed combat is different than just hitting specific flight prerequisites.
