Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

As far as I understand, Variable Adaptive Tactical Hard-Light Energy Projector was vetoed, that was armor/shields/weapon projector all at once.
So plan was changed with less over-the-top projectors.
@Silently Watches?
Correct.
Ok, ok, let me have a hand at this again.

[X] Plan: A Middle Ground
-[X] Build Programming Terminal
-[X] Build Extendable Sword-Spear (with rifle mode to be added later)
- [X]Build Light Armor Suit with integrated taser (as many as can be built in one session)
-[X] Buy Integration

I get @Always Late reasoning behind wanting to buy AMF, but right now I think we, and specially the Privateers, would have way more use of Integration now that Danny is (hopefully temporarily) out of commission.
Your plan has only one time slot for armor, which takes two. Unless you want next week to be stuck with finishing the armor as the first time slot?

If you revise this, I would advise postponing the Vista weapon. It's very unlikely the PRT would let her use it, and power armor does require two slots.

[] LEARN Telekinesis

[] Plan Home Improvement
-[] Upgrade Prototype mana collector (scrap version) x1 to basic version
-[] Upgrade BSWK armor x1 to become DFNS-A armor + Inbuilt weapon
--[] Add Armor Add-on: Carbon Fiber Plating.
--[] Add Enhancement: dorsal thrusters
--[] Add Weapon: electroshock system (aka Giant Taser)
-[] Build: Pile bunker armament compatible with any Power Armor.

If I recall correctly, upgrades cost half a build slot? Anyways, the BSWK needs flight so that both armors can deploy faster. They probably would have arrived sooner is the DFNS didn't have to carry the other one.

My idea was just a carbon fiber vest plus added layers, nothing complex like servos or engines. More along the lines of protective gear than actual power armor.

Room temperature superconductor? Try looking up graphene.

The stuff is basically very thin layers of graphite (pencil lead), but has some amazing properties, for example, it's a perfect heat superconductor. They're looking into harnessing geothermal energy by putting graphene cables into the earth's crust. You can drop one end of a several miles long graphene cord into 10,000+ degree temperatures and instantly the other end of the cord will get hot; meanwhile you can touch it anywhere along the cord and it will be cold to the touch, because all the heat makes it to the other side.

I think it has some electrical superconductivity as well, but not sure, as I know much more about the heat aspect.
It's about as electrically conductive as copper (and much harder to make) but it tends to break down quickly at typical wall socket voltages and burn up when exposed to high voltages needed for heavy equipment. You're right about the thermal conductivity though. It's also nigh impossible to break with impacts or cutting instruments. Electric plasma cutters aside.

Which is why they're looking to play more the heat threshold of their HEA superconductor.
That omake's idea got... buried under current events.
Unfortunate. Anyone wanna rehash the plan? or save that for when we're gearing up to meet the Adepts?

Depends on the upgrade. You can't exactly upgrade the mana collector without building a new one because you need it to power the fabricator to make the pieces as you upgrade it. I will let you use half a build slot to upgrade power armor, but it has to be fairly small modifications. Yours would take up an entire build slot.

Which is perfectly fine since you have 3 build slots to work with and that's how many projects you have. I take it you're planning on saving Tim's tech points?

So, @Silently Watches, would light armor be one or two slots? That is taking in consideration it'd just be body armor, vambraces plus leg protection rather than a full suit of automated plate.

@Silently Watches:
@Silently Watches said previously that if Tim wants to make Devices from scratch he needs to build specialized equipment first; in other words, a Programing Terminal.
Is a 'Programing Terminal' needed for Tim to make devices? If so, is it the only piece of specialized equipment needed?

If not, what exactly is the specialized equipment needed?

It would suck to use a build slot to make one thing, then find out we need 3 others, and SW would have let us built them all in one build slot like with the surgical suite.

Would it be better to call it a "device creation station" so it has everything we'll need for Tim to build devices?

If we needed to anything else I'm sure SW would've told us. Devices do require materials that Bet has no easy means to produce, which is why Advanced Devices take two full slots to build.

It's not exactly needed to MAKE them, just program them. If you wanted to build a few Devices to feed to Immortal Assimilation Engine so you don't have to be stuck inside for 3 days to make a new template Device, you wouldn't need it. It is, on the other hand, a necessity if you want to give a non-template Device to somebody or build a Unison Device.

And yes, it's the only special equipment you need. The actual name of the workstation seen in StrikerS that Shari used while designing/upgrading the Forwards' Devices is never given, so I would treat that designation or something similar as what it is: a descriptive placeholder for the thing we all know we're talking about.

In other news, I knew posting Helpful Kitties would be a mistake because now it's growing in my head. Once this quest is done, would anyone be interested in reading a lighthearted (probably short) story starring Tina and Tara? Not necessarily as Guardian Beasts, but as socially ignorant/improper catgirls that fall into Taylor's life and make things beyond awkward?

I wonder if its possible to weaken Mysterio via tickle torture.
Goddamit. Why did I have to get that reference?!

I mean, sounds fun. There's not been much Worm fluff on these sites lately.

I thought we had two mana collectors? If the radio isn't in use, then he can repurpose that while upgrading the other one.

Last I checked, the only thing that could be purchased with techpoints was energy weapons, and I don't have any upgrades that would specifically need it. Unless the Taser counts? Electricity seems pretty basic though.

I remember have a set of scrap and basic versions of mana collectors, microfoundry and 3D fabricator and then upgrading the scrap version of the latter two. The only one left not upgraded was the mana collector, though I may be remembering this wrong.

No, just the one collector, scrap version. Taylor has a generator, but that's a Key Item, not part of the Privateers' inventory.

Tech points are used to buy Tim's skills and spells. You get 1 for each project he completes.

Oh, right.

Also, did you say each of the upgrades for the power armor takes one slot? I remember last time it came up that Carbon Fiber Plating being mentioned to be half a slot. I don't know about the flight upgrade, but that one being one slot seems fair, I guess.

You: "Why didn't you tell us we needed something else too?"
SW: "You didn't ask."
You:

I think I've made my point.

And we've all seen what happens when we start making a bunch of assumptions, then vote on them, only for SW to surprise us with something completely different.

Except those of us who haven't watched Nanoha.

Depending on how extensive the upgrades are, it is either half a slot or a whole slot.
Except those of us who haven't watched Nanoha.
And for those people, it would be "that thing SW said that time that we would need to get Devices working".
