Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

All I will say is that I intentionally did not bold the part of your statement I ultimately didn't respond to. I wanted you to guess.

Perhaps I should have (hint, hint).
Hm...
If we get rid of the restrictions on Dragon, she can just make a copy of herself to feed through the conversion.
But if you say that UD!Dragon can still run all her old stuff, ok then. Chibi-Dragon away then.

Actually, can we make Dragon's eight-year old form look like Kanna?
Misreading/misremembering, it turns out - I was always under the impression that Dragon had developed into the person she is because she had no other choice, as she was smart enough to realise that inaction will cause harm and programmed to be unable to directly harm except when absolutely necessary. Still, I'm happy to admit when I'm wrong, and I was wrong here, but I still think we should give her the choice.
That would give us brownie points with her, yes. And as for the forced development, it's a reasonable misunderstanding, as that is somewhat brought up.
Article:
Her creator was named Andrew Richter. He was a tinker with no codename, but he did good things. From his apartment in a town called Deer Lake he'd created programs and set them loose. His programs gathered information and disrupted computers to interfere with criminals of all types. They helped with research and complex programs. They emptied the bank accounts of criminal organizations and donated those funds to charities, through proxies that made every donation appear legitimate.

For this, she respected him.

She knew it was paranoid and peevish, but she resented him more because she respected him, because she knew she had probably been programmed and designed to be the type of individual who looked up to people like Andrew Richter.
It's Dragon's self-admitted bad part of herself, but she wonders if that exact part of her personality had been manufactured.

Just a couple of ideas that wouldn't leave me alone. Both are AUs obviously and focus on teenage twin Guardian Beasts.

"What about David? He's dishy."

I roll my eyes. "No."

"Patrick?"

"Pass."

"DeShawn?"

"Damn it, Tina, just stop," I finally sigh. "We've been over this. Enough, no more. Quit trying to set me up with strange guys. I'm not interested."

Tina, the more outgoing of my Siamese-kittens-turned-magical-constructs, pouts at my decision, but this has gone on too long. I'm tired of her trying to play matchmaker between me and what seems like every eligible bachelor attending Winterrose Academy, and even some not-so-bachelors.

Her plan to break up Mr. Stannis – the boy's basketball coach and #1 schoolgirl crush – and his fiancée so I could swoop in and soothe his broken heart was a thing of terrifying beauty.

She turns to Tara, my more bookish Guardian Beast of the Tome, but finds no sympathy there. Tara just quirks one eyebrow and nods.

Tina blinks and shakes her head.

Tara nods.

I wish yet again that I could understand twin-speak.

Tina sighs and turns back to me, but whatever she wants to say gets lost somewhere between mouth and brain. Instead her eyes bug out and she turns back to her sister.

Tara shakes her head desperately.

Tina breaks out in a wide grin and nods.

Tara shakes faster.

Tina nods.

With a faint wince, Tara breaks eye contact and stares at the floor. Consensus reached, apparently. "Okay, Taylor," Tina says, "you win. I'll quit setting you up with strange guys."

"…Thank you?"

The next day I open the door to find Cailleach on our doorstep with a bundle of roses in her hand and her eyes focused on something out of sight.

I look around the corner to find Tina hastily hiding her sword behind her back.

"Look, I don't know who you think you are or why I'd ever go along with this but of course I'd like to date her it's what I always wanted thank you for the opportunity!"

Danny scowls at the boys Taylor brought back from the pet store. "Let's set some ground rules. The two of you are not allowed into Taylor's room with the door shut, understood?"

"Yes sir."

"And you won't go anywhere not heroing-related without my express approval."

"Yes sir."

"And you will both sleep in your cage in the basement every night. No cuddling with my daughter in any way."

"Yes sir."

Danny's eyes slowly and with utmost reluctance drifted from the boys' honest expressions to the rabbit ears jutting from their heads. Rabbit-boys, Taylor, really? What where you thinking?

Sadly he knew the answer to that question. One based on the bunny's well-earned reputation.

"My daughter won't be a virgin much longer, will she?"

"…No sir."

Yes, I'm weird. You should know this by now.

Wondered how long it would take for someone to notice that. But no, not Storm.

That said, you have met this character already. And that's all imma gonna say on that subject.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzip.
It's Casiel, right?

It's totally Casiel, she has way too much of a Rein Eins vibe going to not be her.

And on the subject of stuffing people into artificial constructs, would Tim be ever be able to build a full-blown combat cyborg? I know you said no cyber-brains, but it'd be kinda cool.

Not to my knowledge, but if you can find a mention in canon or even WoG I might let you. It'd be easier than making Tim build them (even if I could possibly be persuaded to let him build pseudo-Dust rounds).
I might have read too many fanfics where Taylor is independent of the PRT yet her team (usually a reformed Undersiders) can purchase non-lethal crime-fighting equipment like containment foam from the Guild/PRT because they have a similar relationship as New Wave.
Sorry, I might have confused fanon with canon.

With that second one I'm now imagining a Pornographic Omake Thread in QQ like the Writer for Emissary did. It would be... Interesting~

[X] Telekinesis

Telekinesis is the last of our core skills and is generally one of the most versatile things out there. Given it's a spell it's probably not as flexible as actually possessing Telekinesis but that just means there are a hundred and one uses for it rather then a thousand and one.

[X] Plan Mjolnir

We saw in our first fight against the Dragonslayers just how effective a suit of power armor with inbuilt tazer is.

Ok, ok, let me have a hand at this again.

[X] Plan: A Middle Ground
-[X] Build Programming Terminal
-[X] Build Extendable Sword-Spear (with rifle mode to be added later)
- [X]Build Light Armor Suit with integrated taser (as many as can be built in one session)
-[X] Buy Integration

I get @Always Late reasoning behind wanting to buy AMF, but right now I think we, and specially the Privateers, would have way more use of Integration now that Danny is (hopefully temporarily) out of commission.

Funny omake, SW.

Speaking of, whatever happened to that plan to start scanning people like mad and equip every one with a drop of magic in their blood with a device strong enough to create guardian beasts?

While tazers and cuffs might not be hard to get, containment foam is much more strongly controlled. Its potentially deadly without solvent

....I am a very bad person for wanting this to become canon if/when anything happens to Samantha and (after the needful number of years passed), aren't I?

I like that the first omake was S.S. Cailleach though <3 <3

Are we sure its not actually the Simurgh instead? (Assuming Cassiel isn't the Simurgh, could be they're defense program or former-royal copy in the way Samantha is a pseudo-copy of Anette). Why we would actually /want/ to do such a thing depends on the motivations of the Endbringers, and to what extent Eidolon or whoever forces them to rampage versus their own desire to do so.

[X] Plan: A Middle Ground

[X] Telekinesis

I'm torn between Telekinesis and Multi-Shot still, as I think finishing out flare subskills is probably a bit better for exploring our tree, even if the casting time and useage apparently is closer to that of Solar Wrath and not anti-mook AoE? (Strange that Nanoha mages would seem to lack such a thing in their arsenal...they are only designed for hard single targets at varying intensity, no spray and pray with beam spam?). But I think this has the better chance to out-compete Ring Bind (which I was iffy on the value of relative to telekinesis even before the new trick the Privateers showed off, and before we consider adding a taser to that arm-loop) given others pushing for it.

Welp, changing my vote. TK it is.

Mooks just aren't enough of a threat to high level mages for them to bother creating an anti-mook spell. For starters only the top 20% of mages can even fly so for the remaining 80% dodging any significant AoE is basically impossible. Similarly only the 20% are capable of a Buster (IE: Solar Wrath) and only the top 5% get Breaker (IE: Ragnarok) spells.

If a fully trained Calamity Witch wanted to take out mooks cheaply then Cresendo (triple firing rate) + Lethal Flare Shooter + Burst. That let's her bombard an area with explosions of radioactive plasma.

Nah, way too contrived I think.

Which actually makes it about 90% more likely for it to happen. Huh.

But really, me saying it's Cassie goes off on Silently Watches saying that Galea learned to make Unison Devices by examining less than willing ones captured from Belka. It's possible that Cassiel is or has been retro engineered from one and the IAE was somehow built around her or something.

[X] LEARN Telekinesis

*edit- Plan vote changed

I really like the anti-magitek field, but don't feel like trying to create my own plan.

TK for the spell, to unlock the final branch of the Flare skill tree.
Last I heard they were working on superconductor materials. They'd managed one that could pass energy perfectly at relatively high temperatures, rather than the current widespread types that required superlow temperatures, and were shooting for a mix that could affect room temperature superconductivity.
Room temperature superconductor? Try looking up graphene.

The stuff is basically very thin layers of graphite (pencil lead), but has some amazing properties, for example, it's a perfect heat superconductor. They're looking into harnessing geothermal energy by putting graphene cables into the earth's crust. You can drop one end of a several miles long graphene cord into 10,000+ degree temperatures and instantly the other end of the cord will get hot; meanwhile you can touch it anywhere along the cord and it will be cold to the touch, because all the heat makes it to the other side.

I think it has some electrical superconductivity as well, but not sure, as I know much more about the heat aspect.
The entire point of Dragon's story in the original Worm is that she never had the choice - she helps because she's refrained from doing harm and is smart enough to realise that not trying her hardest is the same as causing harm to some people. I'm simply proposing that we give her the choice.
Nope,Dragon's whole point in canon Worm is to be one of the few (I think Miss Militia was the only other one) genuinely decent people in the entire setting, forced into what is essentially slavery.

If anyone says that @Silently Watches has no stake in the shipping wars... they're lying or in denial.:p
