Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

[X] Daddy's Little Girl – It's been a while since you last checked on your dad. It hurts to see him and know that he doesn't and probably never will recognize you, but you should probably stomach the hurt and go to his nursing home.
[X] Burn the Sinners, part 2 – You have the information about the Fallen you wanted, specifically about the Simurgh family. Track them down. Burn them out. Leave no survivors.
Social
[X] Participate in Final Frontier as a social activity instead of a main activity
[X] Explore another world. A location must be included. You may bring 1-3 other characters with you.
- [X] Weekend trip to Aleph's Japan with Missy, Kayleigh and Laura. As newly-forged anime characters they need to see their true homeland, and honestly all four of you need a vacation from your vacation.

Vote consolidation is a go.

Hm.
Well, sadly, I guess dinos will have to wait till another time. Much as the tone and wording choices of the Japan option don't interest me at all. =/

[X] Bone of the Father, part 2 – Maybe it's just because it's one you grew up hearing about, but the idea of an Empire off-shoot running around Philly fills you with dread. Plus the fact that the real Empire was turned into Ziz-bombs. Check their territory for any known Empire capes calling the shots.

Changing my Pentagram vote to Japan.

We were told that if we didn't tell Danny about our powers the Privateers would have been more violent. To the point that they would have broken the Endbringer Truce and CW would have been asked to help take them down because of her immunity to masters. That would have lead to finding out it was Danny only after we had taken him down.

Just how different is Aleph money to Bet money? Money updates and as someone working retail, there have been times where I have been handed a bill that I don't recognize (limited print, old, new etc).
Edit: Worse comes to worse PS could likely force an ATM to just hand out money without targeting someone's account specifically.

One thing I'd like to point out with regards to the Fallen: after we exterminate the Mathers branch we should be able to hold off on killing the rest for a week. Remember that it's the Simurgh cultists and Mama Mathers that shields the Fallen from the Protectorate's precogs and thinkers. Once that protection has been burned to ashes the Protectorate should be able to start actually pulling their weight against the Fallen.

Especially since we'll have killed off the Masters.

So I say we kill the Simurgh cultists this week and do the Danny option this week and go for the Nazi questline and Danny quest next week then kill another of the Fallen's branches the week after.

Don't they exchange members once in a while? Shouldn't the other branches have a few precogs and masters too?

I don't think that will go the way you think it will.

If you cut someone's head off the corpse will still spasm, thrash and shudder. Now switch "corpse" with "a lot of Brutes, Shakers and assorted nastiness" and you get a really ugly situation.

Yeah, once we attack them (which, considering it's 48/58 votes, is going to happen) we need to keep going until they are gone. There's no breaks on this Burn the Sinners train. Not unless we're really dumb.

Fully agree with aceraptor, removing the majority of the Simurgh Fallen will vastly improve the ability of the Protectorate to join the mages in mounting successful operations against them. The more time we give the Fallen, the more they can come up with countermeasures as their long-term precogs will be affected by our Mage team. Something I was thinking about was how Lilliput was involved with the Florida attack, which means that the Fallen may have gained knowledge of magic, so wiping them out before they can possibly utilize that asset is paramount.
I will once again champion the vote for giving Standstill the Infinite Enhancement template. Not only does this rebrand her, give her protection from Masters, and give us maximum time before the next Endbringer to train her up, but by doing it now, we get the recharge time started for any possible future template mages.

Honestly, as a new PRT squad designed to test the effectiveness of magic troops, they NEED to stand on their own merits. Otherwise what's the point? It would just be the usual 'cape helps PRT troopers' headline. Except the PRT had powers now too, and STILL needed assistance.

On the subject of DLG. I do want to point out that, being a questline, there's no reason we need a dedicated healer or any reward money to progress this thing. There's never been any indication in the other quests that SW has created that we need a specific role or monetary investment to progress further down a path. So whether we have a healer or can pay for a healer is irrelevant to the issue of should Taylor visit her father in a potential time of need?

For all we know, the reason this quest initially appeared was that we stumbled upon the pieces of a solution that visiting Danny will help us fit together. Or, the QA is piloting him like a fleshy-mech with mind control powers and we've got to introduce an LCM serum before he becomes the Borg. Who knows, we gotta start the quest first.

That being said, Imma go put my money where my mouth is and change my vote, soooooo...

Here's hoping that this questline does a good job of making Danny a character worth empathizing with. Or, at least, make his effect on Taylor poignant enough to empathize with.

Personally for Daddy's Little Girl...I just don't really want to see it already. Winding up taking down Danny for simply neglecting the Privateers way back might have been for the best. Its at least a problem solvable by application of energy beams, and that'd have been that.

A little offtopic but ive been working on some fanart and i need some help. Specifically its been ages since we got it so i cant really remember but was there a description of what Storm looks like when Flare Blade is deployed? If so can someone point me to the right chapter?

The first time we used Flare Blade was in 6.9, so it probably has the best description:
"Storm!"

«Reconfiguring.»

You flip the staff upside down right before the pole doubles in length, and heat washes over your back. A little closer… just a little closer… Now! You swing your staff, and orange flashes at the head as two of the Gaunts fall to the ground in four pieces. The pole whacks a third in the side, the monstrosity too close to you now.

No matter. You jump to the side and fly backwards. A line of orange light slices through the Gaunt's waist, and the edges catch fire from the surge of heat. You spin to a stop, the anger on your face no doubt lit up by the glow of the four-foot-long scythe blade now attached to the end of your Device.

While you were handling your Gaunts, Miss Militia and Samantha took out another two, and now the heroine is staring at your energy blade. "That's new."

"I decided I needed more close-quarter options." Flare Blade loses its cohesion and is sucked back into the slot in Perfect Storm's arms that you only noticed after asking your Intelligent Device to install a partial Knight template into your Linker Core, and the extra length of its pole retracts. You tested it when you first figure out how to cast it, and after cutting through brick and metal with ease, you knew you had something magnificent. Sharper than any physical blade can ever be, hot as the surface of the sun, and yet it will not kill anything you don't want it to.
