Loyalty is its own Reward (A Traitor Legion Chapter Master Quest)

Alrighty then, I'll be adding the regiments to my plan then. I guess at this point the only real difference between the two is I don't contact the Deathwatch over Vector of Taint

I personally don't see how we're going to be able to call in every guard regiment we've met. For the guard the lord general said we would get 3 regiments guaranteed with the possibility of more regiments. And while we might be able to call in one or two regiments that we know of I don't see the guard being able to send all what 8 regiments we've met. I don't see how the sector would have that many guard regiments available. The only one I can see is possibly being able to call is General morner

It's the diplomatic equivalent of Ork gun design. If you keep shooting constantly, sooner or later you're bound to hit something. And since the QM confirmed there's no downsides to it, we may as well.

Also @ThunderOwl quick question but the three guard regiments that we a guaranteed to get are they all going to be Yamunan regiments or are you gonna going to roll to see what we get like with Lezo

Yep basically besides there should be many regiments freed up of use we have 3 confirmed Yamuna ones

And we have settled many fires the very fact most of our Deployments this turn is rebellion/cult suppression speaks volumes

No xeno wars or chaos marines rampages the cordon on the cennota is now gone so that leaves a lot of forces freed up

So it should be ok to ask for the specified regiments we know of in order to attack 3 worlds

Ok everyone it looks like there is a downside to calling a regiment we know: if we successfully call in a regiment it counts as one of the three guaranteed regiments and will replace one of the Yamunan regiments. So it would entirely defeat the purpose of asking for yamunan regiments in the first place.

...Darn it all, I even asked to try and avoid such a surprise. Guess I'll have to change my plan back. Good thinking by the by.

I haven't explained myself well. You can call the 101st to replace one of the already agreed upon Yamunan regiments. The other non-yamunan regiments replace the ones that I will roll.

The whole Death Watch internship routine though while you can do a scheduled run it might be best to go visit the Watch Commander and have a little chat about future relationships going forward.

Severus does not know fully of the Death Watch as he hasn't served and the ones that did join are bound by oaths to not let others except I suppose barring a few privy things means they probably won't tell that their reception maybe less than well received as green horns.

If you want to continue the internship scheme you might instead go do a visit and do the niceties as the Watch Commander can freely talk more about the relationship between the Shrikes and his branch.

You could instead shift the internship to other groups. We already got plenty with the inquisition but you could do the same with rogue traders too or mechanicus explorator fleets.

It really depends what metrics the Death Watch will consider the Shrikes their dues rather than treat them like FNGs or shake and bake veterans.

Our Marines were explicitly scattered after joining the Deathwatch among different Watch Stations if I remember correctly so there would be no point contacting any one Commander.

Also this sound way too much like trying to bargain/male demands/threaten the Deathwatch which is just NO.
The last thing we need is to sour relationship with not only the Deathwatch itself but also the Inquisition and the Adeptus Astartes as well.

It is important to note we are the younglings here who proceeded to send to the watch a bunch of 50 year old newbies under the guise of Veterans where normally Veterancy is measured in centuries.
Tis no wonder the Centuries Old Honoured Veterans aren't exactly jumping with joy.

But does Severus know that IC?

I think I have two solutions for the 1 terminator squad per battle company thing

Either lower the number of marines in the companies to 95 and have a 5 member terminator squad OR equip the 5 Command Squad veterans in terminator armor

Never mind I found it. He does know. The choice remains is do you want to repeat the process when you get more veterans or send them somewhere else until said veterans get more veteran to be veteran enough for the Watch?
The refuge of Kryjowka has been completely resettled, and so the Luctusian government has commenced debating which of the known abandoned Refuges shall be resettled next. Casualties sustained by the PDF regiments involved in the siege of Adapost have been refilled, and the absence of the sheer quantity of wildlife that died there has made land routes around the place safer that they have ever been.

On more foreign matters, we have received the first messages of our veteran brothers assigned beyond the Chapters. Instead of remaining in Watch-Fortress Veles they have been spread out amongst other Watch-Fortresses in the wider Segmentum. Most report that the reception they have received from their cousins has been cold at best and disdainful at worst, except for counted exceptions.

Those assigned to Inquisitor Harker have been kept away from any sort of operation or investigation against Mitsuhide, under the argument that they are "assets more suited for wet-work than detective work." As such, they´ve spent these years busy with cult exterminations. Recently, they have been helping one of Harker´s interrogators, Seras Westenra, in operations against an intinerant Slaaneshi cult known as the Mammonian Society.

Guide to the Planets of the Aetelian Sector: Amora V
Amora V

Classification:
Hive World

Administratum Tithe: Exactis Tertius

Population: 658 Billion

Capital: Hive Reach

Day Cicle Duration (In terran standard): 28 hours

"We have reinforcements amazing we might just get out of this alive.", "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT SARGENT WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!!", - conversation between Major Marcus Vanderbilt of the 212th Durranti volunteers and his subordinate after finding out he has reinforcements.

"No matter the cost we will fight for the people of the Imperium even if we all die horrifically in the process.", – Colonel Loran Tyren of the 298th Amoran Shock Troops addressing his regiment.

"Sworn to Serve", - formally the house words of House Florent now the creed of the Amoran Shock Troops.

Overview:

Located in the Raiken sub-sector of the Aetelian sector, Amora V sense its peaceful discovery by the imperium in 945.M30, has gained a reputation as one of the unluckiest planets in the galaxy. It's unknown when Amora V's bad luck truly began but it's most likely that it started during the Horus Heresy. During the heresy Amora V stayed loyal to the emperor and despite numerous attempts the traitors couldn't penetrate the planet's defense grid. The Iron Warriors decided that if they could not invade Amora, they would make sure they could not support the loyalists. So, they dropped a cyclonic torpedo on Amora V's largest moon, this shattered the planet with much of the debris falling on Amora's surface ravaging the planet. What was left of Amora V's lush wide-open plains became a cratered wasteland, and 4 of the planets 17 Hive cities were destroyed with the others suffering various degrees of damage. Along with giving Amora V a new asteroid belt.

Amora V's bad luck continued as during the aftermath of the Heresy the planet became the target of frequent raids from traitor remnants, ork pirates, and drukari slave raids. Chaos uprisings rose every decade and would cause havoc among the population before being crushed. In one uprising in 456.M34 almost 80% of the planet's nobles got corrupted by chaos, this uprising was quelled by the efforts of PDF Colonel Garth Florent. As a reward for the successful purge of the rebels Colonel Florent was made Governor of Amora V. The newly raised House Florent became one of the most well-liked noble houses on the planet, everyone loved the Florents, and everyone saw Garth Florent as a great hero to be emulated. Under the rule of the Florents, Amora V thrived, being rebuilt back to the pre heresy level. New Manufactorums were constructed allowing Amora V to become a valued industrial center and minor shipyard. However, this all came to a halt during the reign of Goge Vandire, Garths decedents refused to follow Vandires regime seeing him as an insane man grasping for power. Because of their defiance the entire House of Florent was executed by Vandires representative and their bodies hung from the spires of their palace. This representative would be made the new govener of Amora V. After the rebellion of Sebastian Thor, the entire population of the Amora V rose up in rebellion against the new governor and had him and any Vandire loyalist they could find burnt alive as revenge for the death of the Florents.

After the removal of the governor appointed by Vandire, many of the noble families of the planet tried gaining the governorship for their family. However, the administratum would grant the position to Harrold Tyren an off-world noble descended from merchants. This enraged many of the noble families but unlike vandire they didn't have a legitimate reason to remove him. Over the years many would plot to frame Tyren for a crime that would get him stripped of his position and all these people would end up disappearing.

Amora V was once a surprisingly clean Hive world with wide open grassy plains that stretched as far as the eye could see. After the heresy the planets once, lush ecosystem became a desolate wasteland filled with craters and ship wreaks. Most of the wreaks were cleaned up during the reign of house Florent though some remain. The only wreaks that haven't been touched are the remains of the four hive cities that were destroyed during the heresy.

Even those who leave Amora V can't escape the bad luck of their home world. In one incident, the guardsmen of the 357th Amoran Shock Troops were defending the now former hive world of Maldox Secundus from an ork Waaagghh when a genestealer cult decided to start their uprising just as the orks were making planet fall. This caught the Amorans completely of guard and to make matters worse and a Khornite chaos cult also decided to begin their uprising. What began as a simple planet defense turned into a brutal four-way war, the result was that the planet got Exterminatused with the 357th Amoran Shock Troops suffering 91% casualties. The casualties suffered during this incident were considered "light" by Amoran standards.

- Amoran Shock Troops: The imperial guard regiment raised on Amora V, the shock troops are recruited by lottery. Normally this would be a roadblock for the skill of the regiments but due to the near constant pirate attacks and raids, every child of Amora knows how to fight and fire a lasgun before they turn 15. The lottery system is one of the most heavily regulated systems on Amora and it's done by off world administratum adepts making it almost impossible to rig. Everyone can be drafted no matter what you're standing. The Amoran shock troops seem to bring their planets bad luck wherever they go because in every engagement they are sent to these regiments will at best suffer 90 % casualties and its not unheard of for Amoran regiments to be completely wiped out. Often other regiments who fight in the same theater as them will suffer high casualties as well though not to the same extent. The shock troops are often equipped in white and yellow unforms. The Amoran Shock Troops primarily specialize in Lightning strike tactics.

Trivia:

  • Every noble house on Amora V claims to descend from the Florents and they try to use this to claim the governorship of the planet.
  • Once a member of House Tyren becomes governor, having anything less than 200 assassination attempts on their life in the first month is considered unusual.
  • Garth Florent is worshiped as a saint by some of the most devoted people on Amora.
  • Many Amorans hold a grudge against the ecclesiarchy for the "murder" of the Florents.
