Loyalty is its own Reward (A Traitor Legion Chapter Master Quest)

The idea is sound in my mind. Rather than focusing our Terminator Veterans as a single company, we instead have an elite force focused on stealth assassination and sabotage, uniquely suited to us since we have access to the Corvus armor. A precise scalpel making incisions to bleed the enemy before the main thrust of the other companies attack.

We have spread the rest of our veterans out between the companies, and once we have access to Terminator suits, they'll form a strong core for each company. If we get the chapter to full strength, that's 10 terminators per company, depending on what each command squad does.

Hmmm. You know how on the melee arm of a dreadnaught could have a SM sized weapons, twin linked, or combi? Instead of putting a weapon on his lightning claw or glav cannon, would it be possible to instead to replace it with a combat (+2 armor), boarding(+3), or storm shield(+5)?

Also checked the wiki a while ago. Shouldn't the concemptor come with inbuilt twin linked bolters in the torso?

Well personally I'd rather have the armored fist that is the 1st company for the Mutator campaign since I reckon they'll be more suited for a campaign like that but seems like an elite 10th will happen instead. Let's see how it goes.

Imo it would be better to just straight up instal some form of forcefield tech in the dreadnaught. That way it has more protection without sacrificing killingpower, dreads are not known for their mobility

Personally I don't see it as too different. A Veteran 1st Company or a Veteran 10th Company would both be able to stealth and do heavy combat. Neither would be bad at either. Its just where their extra bonus are.

Even though I created both the plans that are in the lead; personally I'm leaning towards a conventional veteran company being better. A hammer that can stealth into the perfect position to hit you where it hurts sounds better than the stealthy commando knife who can also be used in a brawl.

I'm currently voting for both now. Mainly for other peoples sake so the votes don't get borked. I'd probably change my vote if it back to being tied, but for now the vote is looking like it is solidly going one way.

–[X] 6 to Sector Lord Cartagena, 6 to Lord General Adolphus Tavisolta, 8 to whichever Navigator House helms the Mist Shrikes' ships.
[X] Plan Eggs In Separate Baskets
-[X] Create 1st Company (Mutually exclusive with Elite 10th Company) (104/104): Following the traditional structure of the Codex Astartes, assign your veterans to the 1st Company of the Chapter. (Will trigger Company Captain Sub-vote if chosen. Veterans will be divided into Sternguard and Vanguard Veterans. Future Terminator Squads will be automatically assigned to this company)
-[X] Name Company Champions (7/7): With a recently named Chapter Champion, you could name some other skilled battle-brothers as company champions. (Companies gain a Company Champion, which works similar to the Chapter Champion. In case you don't fill the cap, Write-in which Companies receive the Company Champions)
-[X] Form Company Command Squads (30/30): Your Captains tend to go where the fighting is thickest and the danger the greatest, their own command squads could keep them safe. (Companies gain a Company Command Squad, which works similar to the Honor Guard. Each Command Squad gets assigned a Chaplain, Apothecary and a Tehchmarine. In case you don't fill the cap, Write-in which Companies receive the Company Command Squads)
-[X] Grant Companies Veteran Sergeants (60/60): Your veterans are your most experienced marines, and their knowledge and leadership could prove invaluable to your younger brethren. (Companies Squad gains Veteran Sergeants which grant success bonuses to the squad they are assigned. In case you don't fill the cap, Write-in which Companies receive the Veteran Sergeant.)
-[X] Send Veterans to the Deathwatch (8/15): The Deathwatch is ever hungry for veterans, and facing all the dangers the Xenos have to offer will benefit your marines (You send Marines to the Deathwatch, which will improve relations. Marines sent will be unavailable for a random number of turns, and they might during service, but when they return they might do so with improved equipment or even as notables.)
-[X] Lend Veterans to the Inquisition (6/40): While the Inquisitors tend to conduct a significant part of their labor with discretion and subtlety, there is always a moment in which they need overwhelming force. (Put Marines at the disposal of the Inquisitorial Conclave, Will improve relations with some Inquisitors, and allow you to keep an eye on them.)

It's already equipped with a force field i think, right? Am i wrong? @ThunderOwl does the contemptor dreadnought have a force field with its atomic reactor, or no force field? Would it benifit with having a storm, boarding, or combat shield attached to one of its arms for additional armor?

I remember it being mentioned I think in the turn 9 prologue that spatha's new chassis had energy sheilding

Yeah, we need to fix that. Not that we need them to be combat monsters but we should get them to the average.
The problem is that we have about a dozen named Astartes with some kind of below average stats, but we can only train at most 2 at a time, and that training session isn't even going to provide enough experience points to move up 1 stage.

We could make up a bunch of Omake's to make up the difference :D. Surely with enough EXP we can solve most problems. That, or we invest in better training facilities to facility the training of more astartes?

So here's the thing about most of our command notables. Most of them don't even leave Luctus because we separated many of the duties of company captains. So we don't really have to worry about them being in serious fights. A bit callous for me to say it but we can just let them be on the wayside while we focus on our company captains, even let the command notables die and let a marine from the chapter with higher average stats take over.

We could always send our senior baby strength members to do baby missions like clearing out feral orks, butting down riots, investigate crimes among nobles.

Oh by the way @ThunderOwl Since our specialist marines take 50 years to reach veteran status like normal marines, does that mean our Chief Librarian hasn't reached veteran status yet? He hasn't been with us for 50 years, or is he instantly a veteran since he's the Chief Librarian?

From past experience whether to be or not to be, it does depend on the die rolls on whether said veteran dies or not.

Is there anything stopping us from sending our weak officers to previously visited planets to fight the local flora and fauna? Gain repeat exp from those?
