It's a Girl's World -- And Lilly wants Adventure

Oh, we also just pushed [Dream within a Forest] from High to the lowest step of Super High, I'm interested to see where we'll go when we hit Foundational Synchronisation for that!

[X] [CI] Okay. I'll come.
- [X] [CI] [Yes] I trust you not to push me too far sir. (Agreement)
[X] [APC] No. You've already embroiled yourself in far more attention and intrigue than you have any appetite for.
[X] [DwtFLU] She was all the forest and all the forest was her.
[X] [DwtFLU] She saw it in her dream, it became a little more real.
[X] [DwtFAME] I embrace our twin nature.
[X] [BB] She closed the gap in the blink of an eye. {Locat……}
[X] [BtCabE] Remain as conservative as humanly possible, only draw upon Pithe to save another's life.
[X] [NIV] Meanwhile across the Ocean.
[X] [DD] Better one tree firmly rooted than two seeds plucked from the ground. (Status Quo)

Okay I'm back after sleeping half the day away.

{{Captain Martin}}: "The Tithe then?"
{{Mathew}}: "No doubt."

Mathew murmurs his answer more to himself than it being an actual reply. You don't know what the 'Tithe' is, but neither he nor the Captain have a positive opinion of it judging by tone.

{{Captain Martin}}: "Does the Ministry know?"
{{Mathew}}: "Sarah said they have her down as a half-tier Healer. She didn't mention anything else."
{{Captain Martin}}: "So they'd want her when she reaches majority. I'll block that and see to it that we keep her until the Noosemen come to collect. Keep her safe tonight Mathew, she'll be invaluable for the next nine moons."

Noosemen?
Ominous Tithe. Is that just the name for us being forced from our home once we grow up? Are the Noosemen part of the Tithe or a separate thing? At the very least it seems Captain values us even if it's probably for his own potential gains. Still nice to have an adult in power on our side.

In fact, too seamlessly. {Melded Carapace}. You feel it immediately now, [Brave Blood]'s latest expansion. The pattern that weaved its way into your skin now effortlessly extends into the armour adorning it. The precise mechanics behind it elude you, but you simply know that any effort to puncture this armour will always somehow strike its strongest points and not its weakest. There's more there to be discerned one day, but you understand it well enough.

You also understand that pushing your already strained Pithe any further is dangerous right now. Despite the sensation of vulnerability it provokes, you clamp down on {Melded Carapace}, dialling it back to just above no effect at all so that its drain causes no additional pressure. Pithe powers don't like to be altered, but uniformly reducing their magnitude seems like the easiest and least likely to backfire.
This is a nice power though in retrospect we probably should had picked a different BraveBlood that would had helped us more during the chase since that would hopefully helped us from exhausting ourselves. At least we have armor which is more than we started with.

Marius just seems to stare at you, his face stuck somewhere between concern and confusion. "Your arm. Your skull. Your ligaments. Your… your bloody everything girl!" He throws his arms up in the air talking as much to his surroundings as you. "I've healed Essence Primaries before, but… does she even need limbs I wonder; at least healing women is easier."
This is probably Evie's fault and hopefully not something to get us killed over as an abomination to mankind or whatever.

"Oh yes. Essence wielders at least. Here, Maylay Bist Parwroth."

With little warning, your whole body feels awash with uplifting energy. You can actually feel the bones and muscle in your arm and elsewhere knitting back into shape. Its uncomfortable without going so far as pain. Other than some lingering tightness in your lower abdomen, you are simply flush with warmth and health. In the blink of an eye, you know you are completely uninjured.

Real Magic. You were too out of it to fully appreciate the other examples you witnessed a short time ago, but feeling it course through you like this leaves you awed by its endless possibilities. All the best stories have a Mage doing something extremely important. Mages are not constrained to a small host of abilities like anyone else, they are always doing something new and different. You hope that one day that's you.

Marius continues his explanation with a light smugness. "Inflicting infertility is a massive curse to bestow on any woman, accounts for just about any amount of healing required. But your Ethos will restore you in less than a month."

You catch your breath a little. The tightness you felt somehow feeling worse by understanding its meaning. "You… you made me unable to have children?"

"Oh come off it girl. Count your blessings. As I said, you'll be fine in less than a month. Plaz-vo Neric'snay Halcgosh." Marius intones.
Man sometimes I get annoyed by healing powers or healers who ask for permission before healing but then I remember assholes like Marius exist. At least ask before rendering someone infertile albeit temporarily. This isn't a situation where time if of the essence and asking for forgiveness is more important than asking for permission. Like I bet this moment was like at least 25% why we would had unlocked the inverted Ethos this turn because of how much it hurt Lilly.

{{Captain Martin}}: "-rly arranged. Lilly trusts you yes? Can she be kept calm?"
{{Mathew}}: "I don't know sir. She's a firm heart, but her wits seem quite frayed."
{{Captain Martin}}: "Yes or no Sergeant? The girl taking flight at a critical moment could collapse the formation. Can it be done?"
{{Mathew}}: "She preens at encouragement from authority, sir. Have officers vocally encourage her and she'll do whatever she can to prove them right. In a melee, she'll probably mimic the bravest man beside her."
{{Captain Martin}}: "You mean that as a compliment yes? She'll match the best of us?"
{{Mathew}}: "I… Yes. Now that I think about it, she won't be the first to break."
{{Captain Martin}}: "Good. Because she is listening."
I think this entire thing is understandable but also unpleasant for Lilly to have to deal with cause Captain Martin seems purely professional in that he wants to deal with this crisis with as few complications as possible and that requires Lilly to not mess anything up. I feel like we can trust Martin to do his job to his utmost ability but no more than that which is going to be important to keep in mind for the vote.

You had come a long way from the girl who could just barely link healing to other people.
Yeah the you of what a few hours ago? Is a very weaker person than the you of now lol

And it is Essence. You understand the name now. People don't take in Natural Energy from their surroundings and concentrate it. The [Dream] can certainly work that way, but normally people actually produce it. Every single person has a slightly different 'flavour' for lack of a different word. A footprint in the Essence that you now feel around each of them. You think this is where most of the [Dream]'s powers likely come from, incredibly artful manipulations of the unique flavours living things leave in the Essence flowing out of and through them. Knowing what people said, what wood remembers, borrowing the features and strengths of other life, reaffirming and strengthening links that already exist. There's a bit more too it than what you are seeing, but you feel like you're most of the way there.
Very interesting nice to have at least decent understanding of one the main sources of power in this setting. Still amazes me the Dream Within a Forest is apparently Common with all that it can do since it's the main reason we're so crazy Essence wise

The original plan had called for 'Communion Stones', some form of long-distance communication, to inform you of the locations of various groups of watchmen so that you could relay what you could sense of nearby Alpha's. But as each new link was formed you rapidly began to realise that would not be necessary. You are no telepath. You cannot speak between minds, but it turns out that more primal communication is not beyond you. Every single watchman connected to you is aware of their relative position to you, each other, and any concentrations of creatures that you can detect.
Wow a sort of hive mind thing going on where everyone knows where everyone else and the enemies are. That's crazy especially given how the Wolves were trouble because of the guard not being able to find them.

On that leverage you staked your claim to the Captain. Suggesting the central formation strike directly south toward your home, while the smaller groups maintained a holding action at any wolves further north. You'd expected resistance. It was strangely troubling that Captain Martin immediately agreed with your request and reorganized the entire counter offensive around it.

Still, you'd got what you wanted. Unexpected luck is not always an ill omen.
This however is kind of concerning. Did the Captain listen to us as payment for our services? Because our power made it so he could change his plan easily with no trouble? Hopefully it's just the Captain trying to get on our good side via an action he doesn't feel compromises the mission.

To say that you rolled over any opposition is itself still an almost criminal understatement.
Guard OP please never nerf.

You'd had concerns of simply running out of Essence to give, the pull has been frankly enormous compared to anything Mathew ever required. But again, the Well that you draw from has proven nearly limitless in scope. Rather than you being the chokepoint, a couple of the younger men have started to come up against Overstrained Resonance and had to fall back into the reserve themselves. There is a strain, a tiredness slowly creeping over you, but it is a mild thing in its early stages.
Dream Within a Forest is super crazy that we can power over a 100 men with Pithe and some of the men give up first with us feeling a mild strain.

Expansions once more draw near. A tremendous glut of fullness has been washing into you throughout the night, your connection to the Watch minutely connecting you to each kill they have claimed and flowing into your Ethea (You have not allowed Evie to consume it all). You feel more confident you won't need to isolate yourself to be safe this time, but there will likely be those who see you expand once more. Honestly, you've made yourself far more visible than you first intended at the onset of this night.
Party Member XP is best XP. Hopefully this level up won't cause any issues even if pick the risky option.

You worry that you have not guarded your secrets well enough. Tonight, there are hundreds of witnesses to some of what you can do. Not long from now you will have to face the hard question of if you can actually stay in Harmuph much longer. Too many coincidences, too much special notice brought down on your family, you may be becoming a danger to them. Words like 'Noosemen' have given some foundation to previously formless fears of the wider world. After all your worries over being sent off, it may be your own choice that bears you away in the end. An unhappy thought that does not need to be decided right now; Captain Martin draws near atop his own horse.
Yeah that's real worry Lilly cause as much good as we have done I'm still not sure if it'll end up good for us cause as they say no good deed goes unpunished and it would just be peachy that after dealing with the Maw Wolves we get screwed over by mundane humans because we dared to help. At least it seems the Captain will allow us to stay in town for 9 months which is more than I hoped after this crisis.

Mathew has remained close, but you have not really spoken during the tense journey. After the conversation you overheard between him and the Captain, your trust is no longer so complete as it was before. He may have done nothing wrong at all, but you don't know that, and when the stakes could be your life and your family's…

You feel rather foolish realising you never considered such things before, in part, because Mathew looks trustworthy, because he is attractive.

It's time to grow up Lilly.
I feel this is also part of Evie's influence given what she mentions at the end though Lilly herself has been show to grow and mature super fast even before Evie's restructuring.

The Captain speaks as he draws close enough, "I'll be blunt Lilly," pulling you from your thoughts, "My best men and I will be continuing into the forest. I have an idea of what has caused this and I want your help to put an end to it. Accompany me and my elite and I will shower your family in wealth and favour."

Chariot and the Captain's steed continue at pace alongside each other as your home draws nearer. You look at Captain Martin unsure what to say. He is content to look forward awaiting your answer. Rationally you understand the incredible amount of influence and riches one of the most powerful men you know could conceivably be able to offer.
If the Captain thinks he needs us than I fear he might really need us so going is only wise if we want this crisis to end. The favors also help. Though I wonder what's Martin's thinking inside his head cause you would think he would try and convince us to help more instead of that one paragraph. Does he maybe not want to involve Lilly, a child, in this but his professional side feels she's too useful not to use?

[X] [CI] Okay. I'll come.
- [X] [CI] [Yes] I trust you not to push me too far sir. (Agreement)

I trust the Captain to not screw us over in this current situation and while getting influence via compromise would be good I don't think Lilly has any real place in setting the pace of this elite operation.

[X] [FM] Tell Yolun that we forgive him and he will always be in our heart

Thank @sheep-dodger for this write-in because it's perfect to me after rereading the staff part of the previous update. Our Dad is worried about us. About us hating him, about us blaming him. I think we should attempt to resolve those doubts before heading out cause it is possible this will be the last time we see each other and he did just take a bite for us today.

I would like to interact with the rest of the family too but I can't think of anything besides a generic "talk to everyone" thing. We'll hopefully have more time to do that afterwards.

[X] [APC] Yes, you will likely need their help to get there in the increasingly treacherous forest.
- [X] [APC] [Reveal] Try to convince Captain Martin to detour toward the Prime Tree.

I think it's important to get to the Prime Tree asap both personally and to resolve this crisis. Sure this involves telling Captain Martin another of our powers but I feel like the Prime Tree and its location won't be that big a deal especially after we finish our Connection. I also feel like with what we know from the Prime Tree and this crisis that we can convince Martin that our Tree is important to the Operation and not just us side tracking everything for no reason.

[X] [DwtFLU] She was all the forest and all the forest was her.
[X] [DwtFAME] I embrace the connection between all things.

I really like the idea of these two even though Dream also seems interesting.

[X] [BB] Arrows flew and swords clashed, she found the calm in the storm. {….ackin..}

Picking Tracking cause I feel like it will help best in our next fight and our future. I would had also liked to pick Time since that seems like a 'Skill' type ethos which would really be helpful in combat but oh well.

[X] [BtCabE] Remain as conservative as humanly possible, only draw upon Pithe to save another's life.

Ideally we should only be fighting if things are bad so we should wait until someone would die before stepping back into the thick of it.

Fifth Ethos Selection: Stalled by Evie's nearly finished {{REDACTED}}.
[] [Ethos] [Shieldmaiden]
[] [Ethos] [Crashpoint Crisis]
[] [Ethos] [Keen Bow]
[] [Ethos] [Her Sanguine Innocence]
[] [Ethos] [Lodemark]
[] [Ethos] [The Road that Stretches]
[] [Ethos] [My Beautiful Pain] (Inverted)
[] [Ethos] [Precocious and Pernicious]
[] [Ethos] [Seamless Call]
[] [Ethos] [Heavy is the Burden]
Lot's of interesting things here especially that Inverted one. I don't think previous Ethos votes had us with that many but I could be misremembering.

[X] [NIV] In search of my Sister.

No real feeling about this just I think someone looking for their sister to be more interesting than the other two

[O] [DD] She'd likely never have another shot at this. He who sows the most seeds, reaps the greatest harvest. (Evie's {{REDACTED}} will not replace your fifth Ethos choice (available Ethea will be rerolled))

I want to double down even if I feel we don't really need to currently just feels like the kind of thing we need to do to eventually win in the Future. Cause the World won't wait for us to play it safe and level up slowly as shown by the current event.

Edit: Voided my double down vote cause I feel a little scared thinking more on it. Not enough to vote against but enough to just let the vote fall where it will without me

This update has cleared up a misconception. Lilly is not the Deific fragment, the Deific fragment is in the forest. It is in control of the wolves; It is what drives Valerie and Aboleath southward to the Silent Sea; It is the foulness that nips at the Prime Tree's roots; It is why the Captain was willing to head south and strike into the forest.

If, on the other hand, "Lilly wants an Empire", this is an auspicious start.

Alternate titles after this arc:
"Lilly needs you to please forget what you just saw"
"Lilly's a Town Guard now!"
"Lilly wants a desk job"
"Lilly's a tree now. Deal with it."
"Lilly's going to burn this town to the ground herself so HELP me"

This update has cleared up a misconception. Lilly is not the Deific fragment, the Deific fragment is in the forest. It is in control of the wolves; It is what drives Valerie and Aboleath southward to the Silent Sea; It is the foulness that nips at the Prime Tree's roots; It is why the Captain was willing to head south and strike into the forest.

...Hmm. I don't think the Captain has any idea what the fragment is, but there might be something to this. I had thought that the deific reunification was more of a Highlander deal, but what if Lilly isn't a Fragment in and of herself, but a Vessel. Her soul has been altered to connect with multiple power sources and even a Spirit converted into an Ethos; what if the intent is that the Vessels are intended to collect the Fragments for the reformation of the Maw's true form? Granted, if there can only be one Vessel in the end, then it devolves into Highlander anyway... Oh, gosh, what if the intent was for Lilly to find the Fragment early on and become a crazed psychopath like Valerie, but being in a coma for a month threw that all up in the air? And once we confront the corruption, can we destroy it? Or will there be no other choice but to assimilate it?

Hard to say!

Anyway, I'm home from work finally, and now that I'm toasty warm and still riding the edge of the sugar rush that got me the last leg of the trip, here's my votes and thonks.

[X] [CI] Okay. I'll come.

[X] [APC] Yes, you will likely need their help to get there in the increasingly treacherous forest.

Cooperate, but lean into our assets as necessary to keep things humming along. This is how cooperation starts.

[X] [DwtFLU] She saw it in her dream, it became a little more real.

Seems to be interacting with the Weird Shit that [Dream within the Forest] operates on that we've gained insight into. This is good, we should lean into this.

[X] [DwtFAME] I embrace the connection between all things.

This feels fitting to the story arc, Lilly's greatest power has been derived from her Connections, it's the big thing keeping her afloat so far.

[X] [BB] Arrows flew and swords clashed, she found the calm in the storm

Situational Awareness is something that Lilly seems to keep fucking up, this seems to be a good step towards solving that.

[X] [BtCabE] Remain as conservative as humanly possible, only draw upon Pithe to save another's life.

We're better, but we're not good yet. Save that Pithe for when we really need it.

[X] [NIV] Meanwhile across the Ocean.

Why not?

[X] [DD] Better one tree firmly rooted than two seeds plucked from the ground. (Status Quo)

We've gathered far too much attention as it is. The amount we've accumulated is not yet beyond management, but it's on the edge of it. Another transient power boost now won't help us if it triggers escalation we can't handle tomorrow.

Now, onto the Noosemen... While the association with executions is resonant... It doesn't fit.

But consider that a noose has another use that predates hanging--to secure an object to a rope easily. Or in layman's terms "These are the guys who make sure that random murderhobos don't become a thing by making sure anyone who's got an Ethos that could cause serious disruption to the social order gets invested in it first."

Or, in more political terms. "These are the guys who makes sure superhumans have a steady job eating their attention instead of plotting to overthrow the social order, and they don't take 'But I want to be unemployed' as an answer."

The Tithe is probably how a Loremaster keeps score--identifying potent individuals and having them shipped off to a central place to be exploited in some fashion, and there's probably a quota for it (Hence the distaste--probably a lot of promising people end up getting Tithed long before they have a chance to contribute in a meaningful fashion, which means you have to go through the Loremasters or whoever they're feeding to get special support).

Now, normally, I imagine the Noosemen probably don't give a shit--anyone who's developed an Ethos of all but the most humble provenance gets a visit from them and encouraged to get in line. In that sense, Lilly's current position is both very good and very bad. It's good in the sense that they're going to likely lead off with a generous offer and play with the kid gloves because holy shit her power is a tactical game changer on a level that even I didn't anticipate. That's someone you very much want with you willingly cooperating.

But it's also very bad in that they're going to be very determined not to let her run off into the wild. Because this is also the kind of build that can suddenly materialize a rebellion that's genuinely threatening. Refusing their generous offer is probably Instant Epilogue material, and the Captain is frustrated because he has a game changer right here but he knows full well that the Noosemen aren't going to let him keep her here when they can have her shipped off to some big central officer academy or something to be filled with propaganda and set up leading and/or supporting some hyper elite formation somewhere, and even he doesn't have the influence to convince them to consider 'Training in house' as an answer.

I wonder if I'm along the right track here?

Anyway, no immediate vote here for the family matters, I like the "Forgiveness" thing. We can ask about this other shit later--we've still got nine months until the Noosemen come around at least.

EDIT:

Good Catch!

[X] [FM] Tell Yolun that we forgive him and he will always be in our heart. Also ask your mom about your namesake cause Ladder said apparently now is a good time

What is Overstrained Resonance, again?

You got it from using {Pulse Surge} over and over after having just broken another ability under [Brave Blood]. It's effectively a deeper level of Exhaustion that Essence cannot just wish away.

And so the little psychopath is able to command people to do things in defiance of physics.

Valerie and Abby have had a few level ups ;).

it sounds like Evie would prefer if we were a coldly logical

"In much the same way that you would prefer your lifeboat without holes in it."

Regretting not letting her become hamburger

:lol2::rofl2:

I think Seamless Call is the only one we've seen before.
And [Keen Bow]

All very interesting, but I want some background lore.
And that's exactly what you'll get! We're in the 7th Era right now though, so humans won't even be around. It's background lore.

How much of Evie's growth came from our other Ethea?

Almost 100% of your growth was from the [Dream]. Evie still stole a chunk, but then shared just enough to [Brave Blood] to make it hit expansion.

What is Overstrained Resonance, again?
Thanks for corrections.

It's all the same, and it means you've been using Pithe abilities to the point its getting unhealthy. The analogy I used used in ANs was that Essence gives you as much water as you want for your pipe, but you've pumped so much through that now the pipes joints are getting stressed.

or gain the loyalty of the guardsmen and try to rebel.

That sounds like a thought-crime to me. You'd best hope there aren't any magics for detecting thought-crimes ;).
Still nice to have an adult in power on our side.
And all you had to do was smash the Status Quo over its head.

[X] [NIV] Meanwhile across the Ocean.
Why not?
I don't think this one will win the vote. So you'll never know just how hilariously on point that phrase is to what's happening across the Ocean.

I wonder if I'm along the right track here?
I can't say anything spoilery. But I'm quite impressed at the overall explanation you've put together here.

Hahahaha.

Alas, what a shame.

Anyway, here's hoping the next update comes along a bit quicker :p I just finished my last rotation and I'd love to see where this goes before I go off to the next one!

Adhoc vote count started by NotteBoy97 on Dec 16, 2020 at 3:59 AM, finished with 65 posts and 22 votes.

Here's a tally. Things important to note

Our new Dream power is very close with Dreams More Real being one ahead of She was the Forest.

The Dream Fame vote is also one vote way with Connection being slightly ahead of Twin Nature

Those who are concerned about the Double Down vote should be aware taking the risk is ahead by one vote so if you don't want to take even more risks and haven't voted yet please do.

Finally not many people are voting for the family stuff with the highest being telling our Father that we forgive him with a mere 3 votes.

I like the forgiveness and acceptance for Lilly's father for the Family Matters write-in option, more than my write-in actually, I'll edit it when I have the chance.

Just to be thorough, I thought about any other family options we might want.

I'm still working, but could anyone check to see if now is the time to ask Lilly's mom about her namesake?

I think there was some wisdom advice about the to ask her, and it could help keep Lilly's head on straight for whatever's coming.

Also adding a question of "Mother, please, what is my namesake?" to the forgiveness would hopefully help with not distancing her mom further.

Also not gonna lie, really hoping that this doesn't turn into something as similar as "Pink Passenger Voice turns Lilly into an entity of pure crystal and logic with no need for puny organs and feelings," because as far as I'm concerned that's the quest bad-ended right there. :(

Multiple ethea are our greatest strength, and one we desperately need when we're already at risk and crazy lady is coming right for us. Letting Evie take that opportunity from us would be a mistake.

Also, would it even be possible to get rid of Evie at any point in the future?

I like the forgiveness and acceptance for Lilly's father for the Family Matters write-in option, more than my write-in actually, I'll edit it when I have the chance.

Just to be thorough, I thought about any other family options we might want.

I'm still working, but could anyone check to see if now is the time to ask Lilly's mom about her namesake?

I think there was some wisdom advice about the to ask her, and it could help keep Lilly's head on straight for whatever's coming.

Also adding a question of "Mother, please, what is my namesake?" to the forgiveness would hopefully help with not distancing her mom further.
I had actually completely forgotten about this, it's been a while. Thank you.

But it's also very bad in that they're going to be very determined not to let her run off into the wild.

...Aha! This is probably why Myah was so invested in getting Lilly to share her "faking death" ability which was good enough to "fool" Madam Silva. Once the Lore Warden's got you marked, you're an "asset of the State" and they won't let you just run away. Makes me wonder how Mathew ended up staying here with [Blessed Armsman]...unless he didn't. Maybe he got taken by the Tithe, did his training, then requested to come back to Harmuph?

"In much the same way that you would prefer your lifeboat without holes in it."

All [Militant] and no [Reverant Advocate] makes Lilly a dull girl. Granted, a bit of temperance and restraint is healthy, but there are avenues of power that Machivillians will never have access to, and it feels a little hypocritical to be the beneficiary of Lilly's compassion and then "shut the door behind you."

Oh good memory! I thought I'd snuck that one by you guys and you'd miss your shot. This is exactly when {The Ladder} was talking about.

...But...You mean...How...

I don't know which is worse: The fact that our mother would only be willing to tell us about our name in the midst of an Alpha invasion, or the fact that the Ladder factored that into its calculations for its answer and neglected to mention the context.

At any rate, through this discussion, I feel that a few changes to my vote might be prudent. I was really hoping for Restoration and Heritage, but I think Connections might get me something close to what I want. And maybe Double Dipping nearby 100 or so soldiers isn't...prudent, considering it only takes one detector-type to spoil the game.

[X] [CI] Okay. I'll come.

[X] [NIV] The end of the First Era.

They're already going to see us expand, I'm not even sure they can tell if we get another or even when we'll actually get it. As long as we don't anything particularly flashy we can pass it off if need be.

Also Blademaster you need to close your top vote.

Without going back to double-check the updates where we talked with her, the impression I got was that she had quite obviously awakened to some kind of vampiric Ethos. I figured that might be something that's frowned upon much like a town of humans might frown on an actual vampire and she was looking to fake her own death and get out of there before she got caught (and if she could learn how to do so repeatedly it would be helpful for any close calls in the future.)

...But thinking on it more, I'm not sure she could have concealed such a thing from a Loremaster when she got brought in to have her Ethos recorded so you might be right that she's been put on a list of some sort not entirely like us and that's what she's trying to escape.
