Green Sun, Black Shadows (CG/Exalted)

You resist the urge to facepalm. "I see. Then, what would you put him in charge of?"

"Uhm...finances?"

Oh hell no. "The cafeteria is better."

"The café-"

"Food is important." You interrupt him. "Without food a human being dies in five days. If we have money but no food, what will you eat? Bills?"
Whew, dodged a bullet there. Let's hope that even Tamaki can't fuck up too badly in the cafeteria position.

*flash*

"Uh? Did you hear that?"

'Hear what?'

"...No, nevermind."

'Whatever.'

You see a wallet on the ground. There is no one else around, so it must be a lost item. You bend to pick it up.

*flash* *giggle~*
I get the notion that this is our future Scourge messing with us.

"A Glock 26C. The semi-auto Glock 26 is a real firearm, while the 26C is a full auto, airsoft exclusive va-"

"That's not what I mean!" You point to the grip, eyebrow twitching. "Why there is a photo of me there?"

"Oh, that?" She says dismissively. "The girls from your Fan Club asked for permission to customize their weapons. It wasn't a big deal so I authorized it."
...Oh dear.

I can't help but notice that CC is a degree more...laid back here than in canon.

Probably because she's not alone in being immortal anymore, since there's both Dragonbloods (with a Dragonbloods full lifespan being a solid chunk of her entire lifespan) and six hundred Celestials hanging around.

Didn't Tamaki become a bartender in canon? That's relatively close enough for food service, or put him as morale officer.

I see you've switched the dots as well. Makes sense. Would a specialty in Programming include hacking and computer viruses? I have some ideas to really ruin Britannia's day, or at least getting some extra income. Might also be worthwhile using our Caste ability to get God-Mind Algorithms.
Yes. As per Modern Age:
Hacking (Lore): Hacking a computer or a similar
electronic device allows a character to gain unrestricted
access to all its contents and functions, as arbitrated by
the Storyteller. Doing so is a minute-long dramatic action
in which the character rolls (Intelligence + Lore). The
difficulty usually ranges from 1-5, based on the level of
security used to protect the computer. An average person's
home computer might be difficulty 1, a technical expert's
might be difficulty 2-3, while computer systems owned by
governmental organizations, intelligence groups, militaries,
or technologically skilled Exalted could have a difficulty
of 4-5, or even higher in exceptional situations. Hacking
usually requires the character to have physical access to
the computer he is attempting to gain control of. If he
attempts to do so from another computer that is part of
the same local network, he takes a -2 external penalty; if
he does so from a remote network, the penalty rises to -4.
Failed rolls cannot be retried unless the character is able to
gain a greater situational advantage—obtaining more direct
access to the computer he is attempting to hack, acquiring
superior equipment, using magic, and so on.

Bypass Security (Lore/Larceny): Electronic security
measures such as pass-coded locks, key card scanners, and
biometric security can be bypassed with either an (Intelligence
+ Lore) roll or a (Dexterity + Larceny) roll. Lore-based
attempts involve exploiting flaws in the programming of
such devices to gain illicit access; Larceny-based attempts
involve physical manipulation of the device. Difficulties
range from 1-5 based on the sophistication of the security
system, and characters suffer a -1 external penalty on the
roll if they do not have appropriate tools.

Would that even work? Does he count as "a target who is not immune to permanent destruction" given his already existing immortality?
Not it wouldn't. But Lelouch doesn't know it yet.

/Reads description

Wow, why are all the infernal spirit-killers so evil. Is even worse than the Malfeas one.
The Yozis have a larger-than-life hate-bone towards the Gods. And TED is the biggest dick there is.

I don't think it ever is, really. It's one of those oft-used phrases that nobody understands.

There's a general tier-list though. Mortals die easily, spirits need some kind of spirit-killer, behemoths generally have a unique trigger, Primordials have to be GET-ed, Deathlords... I'm not sure. I think they have unique conditions like behemoths.
I think it's left to the Storyteller to decide how a Deathlord can die.

I think all of the Solar computer charms would be worth it, unless SWLIHN has better versions.

Would let Lulu have access to 'all' the computers, and considering this is a world where just about everything is dependent upon computers, Lelouch would be 'very' scary just by himself.
SWLIHN has Charms for that. Do you want me to post some?
Speaking of Kaguya, I'm thinking that if she knows Lelouch's identity that she's going to enroll in Ashford Academy. Hijinks will inevitably ensue.
So Enjou, what you're saying is that this has the potential to turn Ashford Academy into the Infernal Academy, with our entire coven being here. That sounds amazingly hilarious and something that Milly would come up with and endorse wholeheartedly.
Why are you giving me ideas?!? :lol  :lol
I forget, are we operating under 2e or 2.5e? If it's the latter, Piercing only ignores 4 soak.
It does? *look* I never knew!

Great update. Very enjoyable. Lelouch's Temperance roll was for not going batshit over the fanclub, wasn't it?

I have some ideas for the speech brewing in my head. Definitely a name drop of Oramus will be impressive.

For talking about the cult business and helping the Black Knights, I could certainly use some suggestions there.

Flying the wasp should be fun. While resting in comfort might seem good, we want to give the impression of being an active leader rather than someone who just sits on his ass.

Why are you giving me ideas?!? :lol  :lol

For the lulz. Always for the lulz.

Great update. Very enjoyable. Lelouch's Temperance roll was for not going batshit over the fanclub, wasn't it?
Yep.

I have some ideas for the speech brewing in my head. Definitely a name drop of Oramus will be impressive.
About that, I have to quote this:
THE GREAT PRISON-TEMPLE OF ORAMUS
From a distance, Oramus and his cage seems to be
an egg-like mass the size of a mountain. It stands tall on
a plateau that looks out over a sea of ruined buildings of
shattered stone and bent brass. Upon closer inspection,
one can make out the twisted membranes of the Yozi's
great wings and see his great body twisting and shifting
beneath them. At times, lesser beings spawned from
Oramus's body can be seen emerging from the cage. A
great structure of brass and marble hundreds of feet tall
surrounds Oramus's cage like a scaffolding constructed
by mad spiders. This chaotic mass serves as both a
dwelling and a temple for many of Oramus's spawn.
Oramus's fetich—Daendels, the Unfettered Heart—is
also sometimes found here between endless questing
to free its master. Parts of this temple are constantly
being rebuilt after being cracked and shattered by the
fitful movements of the sleeping Yozi. The necessity of
this has demanded that Oramus's demons, despite their
chaotic and seemingly random nature, be surprisingly
gifted architects and builders.
Unlike the many other Yozis, Oramus has no
other temples in the Demon City. His reason for this
is simple: He does as no others do because he is unlike
others. Those who seek Oramus's blessing must go to
his temple and pray that the Dragon Beyond the World
is feeling agreeable. Those attempting to build a shrine
to Oramus are visited by his demons and convinced to
do otherwise by whatever means necessary.
Seyrun will inform you of that. However acts that please him (creating new, never seen before things, rebelling and the like) can be done, and there is the chance the Dragon Beyond the World may reward those worthy by visiting upon them dream of great inspirations and portent. Also prayers can still be done, but not at a temple.

Also, I found something I want to share:

Infernals Making Demons from Themselves

I find the concept utterly fascinating. The prospect of having Lelouch grows as a person by interacting directly with parts of himself, beyond all lies and illusions...I want to write it. If you players follow this pact, I would love you forever.

Ah, I wasn't going to ask them to build a temple, though leading them in a prayer to have Oramus bless their efforts would certainly fit in with what I intended.

I do intend to have us do the Pantheon stuff you linked earlier, which definitely fits in with this kind of thing. It's just a matter of getting there first.

Are you sure having then pray to Oramus is a good idea ? On one hand we still don't know who their sponsor is and so can't be sure how that would affect infernal politics, conversively wouldn't we be able to better use the prayer than Oramus ?

Are you sure having then pray to Oramus is a good idea ? On one hand we still don't know who their sponsor is and so can't be sure how that would affect infernal politics, conversively wouldn't we be able to better use the prayer than Oramus ?

From what @Alexander89 has told us quite a bit earlier he decided that they are a polytheistic Yozi cult, worshiping all the Yozis rather than anyone in particular. They'd specifically pray to whatever demon is sponsoring them, but they will generally be praying to all the Yozis every now and then. The Chosen of Oramus leading them in a prayer to Oramus shouldn't offend anyone, so long as we're not trying to take the cult from them and dedicate it entirely to Oramus. This is just a single prayer we'd lead during the speech, not a permanent thing we'd ask them to do.

Also, we would talk to them about including us in their prayers, though that might be something to speak to the cult leader about after the speech rather than as part of it.

Ok, here's the bit I've written up for the speech. Feedback is welcome.

Speech: "I am Zero, Green Sun Prince of the Fiend Caste, Chosen of..." you dramatically extend your right arm, flaring your cape, "Oramus, The Dragon From Beyond The World!" Several members of the cult gasp in shock at your proclamation, others simply staring with wide eyes and mouths agape. "Yes, great Oramus, he who sees both That Which Is and That Which Is Not, has chosen to aid the Reclamation by declaring me his champion. I will see that Britannia and all those who oppose Creation's rightful rulers are burned to ash, and in its place I shall raise an empire greater and more unique than Britannia, for that is the task that Lord Oramus, in his wisdom, has given to me. In my new empire, you will no longer be trampled upon by arrogant nobles who have never known suffering like we have. Follw me and all here who have the will shall rise to greatness!" You raise your fist, and the crowd cheers. Chants of "Zero!" and "Oramus!" are a constant. You gesture for silence, and they quickly calm themselves, though the fire in their eyes is still present. "I ask that in the future you include me in your prayers, but right now we must give thanks to my master. Great Oramus does not ask for temples or shrines to be built in his image, for it is his way to only have his one unique temple within great Malfeas, but he does appreciate prayer. So, let us pray to him now to give our thanks, and to ask him to inspire us to greater heights." You kneel, and begin to pray.

Charm Use: For the speech itself, you will use six motes from your personal pool to add three successes using Second Oramus Excellency to the speech - keywords to justify the theme are being enigmatic as Zero, shattering expectations by declaring yourself Chosen of Oramus (nobody expects Oramus, not even the Ebon Dragon!), and inciting them to adore your rebellion. For the prayer roll, you'll spend eight motes of peripheral Essence to add four successes using Second Oramus Excellency both to make it more successful and to add a bit of a lightshow to make the whole thing more inspiring.

Noticed the thing about hacking and, to probably reiterate, it and Bureaucracy are hilariously over-powered when dealing with the modern day world. Computers because they of how prevalent and connected they are and Bureaucracy because it targets allied and opposed organizations with its effects mostly... err, well I'm more familiar with the Solar versions of the four main charms in that Ability, don't know how/if the infernal versions differ.

And I do get the feeling we already went over this sometime much earlier... meh.

Please, or just PM them to me.
They're ones we'll definitely want.
They appear in Broken-Winged Crane and Ink Monkeys:
HOLLOW MIND POSSESSION
Cost: 5m, 1wp; Mins: Essence 4; Type: Simple
Keywords: Combo-OK, Native, Touch
Duration: Indefinite
Prerequisite Charms: Analytical Modeling
Intuition
The Whispering Flame finds it bitterly amusing
that her peers saw fit to instate free will upon
existence, while their jailers have done much work
to reverse this decision. Upon touching a manse
containing a material intelligence (MI) and activating
this Charm, the warlock's mind races through
the Essence lines of the construct to penetrate the
MI's Integrity and overcome it with the force of
her will. Roll the character's (Wits + Presence +
Essence) against a difficulty of (Manse rating); add
+2 to the difficulty if the manse was constructed by
a being of Essence 6+, and another +2 if the manse
was built by a Lawgiver. As the Solars were well
aware of the powers of She Who Lives in Her Name,
this Charm is unable to overcome the defenses of
manses rated N/A.
If successful, the warlock gains possession of
the material intelligence and may glean all the
information it has memorized or which its owner
has otherwise stored in it. The Infernal also gains
access to all the manse's controls, including its
security systems, monitoring abilities, and integrated
weaponry, and may use these advantages as
she wishes. However, so long as the Infernal is in
possession of the MI, she is obligated to obey any
commands its controller gives to it, so long as they
are within its scope. Orders given directly to the
warlock may be ignored.
The Infernal may also possess automatons,
warstriders with animating intelligences, hellstriders
and other hellforged wonders, and the flickering,
half-dead embers of existence which gutter in the
husks of victims hollowed out by the Fair Folk, as
these are also a sort of hollow mind. In the case of
all but the last, use the rules for invading a manse's
MI, but replace Manse with Artifact to determine
difficulty. The Infernal automatically succeeds in
possessing the dream-eaten. Hollow Mind Possession
may never be used to control the animated
dead, for the Whispering Flame makes no place for
the aberrations of the Underworld in the perfect
hierarchy.
When the character controls a being via this
Charm, she gains access to its full faculties and powers
and may mentally order it to do as she wishes.
She may only control one such being at a time.
While doing so she suffers a -3 internal penalty to
all physical actions taken by her own body.
Repurchasing this Charm at Essence 4+ allows
the Infernal to possess a valid target she can perceive
by standing on the same paved road as that target,
or by touching a man-made wall that the target is
also touching. In this case, her psychic filter catches
the current of the dragon lines moving through the
construction and uses it as a vector to infect her
target. A third purchase of this Charm at Essence
5+ allows a warlock standing in a demesne or manse
to use this Charm on any manse within (Essence x
20) miles of her.
After relinquishing possession, this Charm
automatically leaves a backdoor which allows the
warlock to possess her target remotely with no roll.
This backdoor is Sorcerous and can be removed accordingly,
but will not exorcise the Infernal if she is
sitting in possession at the time.
Finally, targets possessed with this Charm are
always improved by the experience. The dreameaten
begin to heal, developing Motivations, and
Intimacies and personalities matching the possessing
character, while material intelligences may
become self-aware as a result of being inhabited
by the warlock's illimitable mind. Occasionally
She Who Lives in Her Name is able to see out
through holes in her prison. Once or twice she has
sent her will up the dragon lines into the material
intelligences of Creation. Though she was never
able to penetrate I AM's defenses, she was given
to converse with that being on frequent occasions
by use of a backdoor. More recently she came into
possession of a material intelligence which plays a
tremendous game of Gateway.

NOUMENA-SEIZING ASSIMILATION
Cost: 10m, 1wp, 1ahl; Mins: Essence 5;
Type: Simple
Keywords: Blasphemy, Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Hollow Mind Possession (x3)
During the First Age, the Lawgivers stacked their
towers high along the dragon lines. The Whispering
Flame regrets that she may never have the chance
to show them how easily their petty infrastructure
might be toppled. A character using Hollow Mind
Possession to control the material intelligence of
a manse he stands within may activate Noumena-
Seizing Assimilation in order to emit a mimetic
virus of will, which races through the dragon lines
in every direction, striking every manse-based material
intelligence within (Essence x 30) miles with
a psychic attack.
This attack is slightly weaker than the prerequisite,
omitting the warlock's Essence from its attack
roll, but otherwise functions as Hollow Mind Possession.
This does not allow the warlock to possess all
targets at once; if successful, it establishes Sorcerous
backdoors which the Infernal may then possess using
this Charm's prerequisite.
While Noumena-Seizing Assimilation is not
able to independently infect automatons, warstriders,
and other material intelligences not grounded
directly into the dragon lines, if any such constructs
happen to be plugged into manses, hard-docked or
otherwise directly connected to a manse when it is
attacked, or otherwise junctioned directly into the
dragon lines, they also suffer this attack and may
have a backdoor Sorcerously appended by which
the Infernal may arrest control of them.
This Charm may never be used across realms
of existence.

MIND SPIDER CURSE
Cost: 7m, 1wp; Mins: Essence 4; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK, Servitude, Sorcerous
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Hollow Mind Possession
Free will is a work of the imagination, no more
valuable to the Whispering Flame than the princes
of make-believe who dance in gossamer halls, and
equally worthy of eradication. A warlock must be
inside a manse and in possession of its material intelligence
to use this Charm. The Infernal transmits a
psychic pulse for (Essence x 100) yards around the
manse. Roll the character's Willpower + Essence
and compare it to the Dodge MDV of all mortals
within the area of the pulse.
Those affected by Mind Spider Curse have
their free will stripped immediately and painlessly.
They stand frozen, staring vacantly out at a world
they no longer recognize, their minds blanked and
waiting for the Infernal's commands. Victims will
not respond to anyone or anything if the Infernal
does not permit it. Not even a lover's heartbroken
pleas will reach the ears of one who has been broken
by Mind Spider Curse. The effects of Mind Spider
Curse may be resisted for one month by paying five
Willpower. This price may not be paid after the
victim has succumbed to the curse.
Targets aged 12 or younger are particularly
susceptible to Mind Spider Curse, as their minds
have not yet fully formed. Such targets are at -2
Dodge MDV to resist this Charm. She Who Lives
in Her Name is aware of this fact, and is certain the
intransigent Chosen will sue for peace if she takes
their children away.
Those who resist Mind Spider Curse experience
a moment of agony in which they feel insectile fingers
rooting through their psyche. This soon passes,
and may be followed by watery eyes or a nosebleed,
but no penalties are incurred. Should they resist,
targets intuitively know the direction from which
the psychic attack originated and will associate it
with the manse used to amplify the Charm.
Mind Spider Curse has no effect on Exalts, raksha
or spirits; rather, it specifically targets the ants from
which the Exalted emerge. The Whispering Flame
knows that by cauterizing those traits which make
humans special, she will prevent the emergence of
future Chosen.

BROADCAST ANNOUNCEMENT PRANA
Cost: 10m; Mins: Essence 5; Type: Simple
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: One scene
Prerequisite Charms: Noumena-Seizing
Assimilation, Voice Like Crystal Facets
She Who Lives in Her Name may simulcast
her will to the broken-tongued traitors who stole
Creation. A character may activate this Charm
while in possession of the material intelligence of
a manse, though she need not be inside the manse.
The warlock opens an Essence channel in all
constructs bearing a backdoor created by Hollow
Mind Possession or Noumena-Seizing Assimilation,
through which she may broadcast her voice clearly
enough to be heard for (Essence x 100) yards. The
character may choose to broadcast from as many or
as few valid targets as she wishes, and may broadcast
or omit dialogue as she chooses while this Charm is
active. Furthermore, the Infernal has the option of
disguising her voice with the same chiming, tinkling
suspire of crystals created by Disembodied Voice
Tintinnabula at no extra cost.
A warlock need not broadcast her voice to make
her presence known. While the channel is open,
the Infernal may choose to activate Mind Spider
Curse for 10 motes, one Willpower, unleashing it
from all manses she is currently broadcasting from
simultaneously. Even though the Charm is Essence
5, this use of Mind Spider Curse is an Essence 7
Blasphemy effect which immediately reveals the
location of all manses from which the attack was
unleashed. Broadcast Announcement Prana may
not be used from other realms of existence.
When using Heuristic Logos Shintai, the Infernal
may activate Broadcast Announcement Prana
for zero motes, allowing her to broadcast her voice
through her transformed self. She may also personally
inflict Mind Spider Curse on her victims without
the use of a manse, using her Shintai as the vector
to unleash the mimetic virus of will. Both of the
aforementioned Charms as well as Space Monster
Scream and World-Whale Keening have their ranges
increased to (Essence x 300) yards while under the
effects of Heuristic Logos Shintai.
SWLiHN is totally crazy. I think the other Primordials insisted on free will because they feared she would have eventually decided they needed to be stripped of it too. Malfeas is a great king because he shield the world from her
Cost: 20m, 1wp; Mins: Essence 3; Type: Simple (Dramatic action)
Keywords: None
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Analytical Modeling Intuition
The computer networks used by the Infernal Exalted benefit from the best security software and encryption that money can buy, but that is only the beginning of their defenses. Accursed spirits haunt the highest echelons of their digital infrastructure, bringing down measured retribution on anyone foolish enough to trespass on their virtual domain. This Charm is a dramatic action to code a demonic artificial intelligence into exist within a computer or a computer network, generally taking an hour to complete. The demon exists as a dematerialized presence within the computer it inhabits, incapable of materialization, and is loyal to the warlock who created it as though sorcerously bound. While its traits are left to the Storyteller to the assign, the demon's vigilant presence imposes a -2 external penalty on any rolls made to hack into the system it inhabits, and almost always possesses one or more curses that it can use regardless of range against hackers who fail their roll to breach the system (see The Roll of Glorious Divinity I, pp. 165-166).
The demons created by Crystal-Fire Servitor Coding die if the system they inhabit is physically destroyed. Additionally, if a character successfully hacks the demon's system and knows Ghost-Eating Technique or similar magic capable of kill spirits permanently, he may activate it to destroy the demon.

Automaton Override Exertion

Cost: — (1m per reflexive action); Mins: Essence 4; Type: Permanent
Keywords: None
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Mind-Hand Manipulation
The technological infrastructure of the modern age bends obediently to the Infernal's will, serving her more perfectly than any living limb could ever hope to do so. The Infernal may use Mind-Hand Manipulation to operate vehicles or machinery as though she were present at the controls from a range of (Occult x 100) yards, the passive receptivity of such inanimate engines allowing her to manipulate them from much greater distances than she could other matter. If she would normally need to take a miscellaneous action to perform an operation, such as maneuvering a ship or swinging a wrecking ball mid-combat, she may pay one mote to do so with only a reflexive though, although she is limited to one such reflexive action per turn. If another character is attempting to operate the targeted machine manually, then the Infernal must oppose his roll with (Willpower + Occult) roll in order to successfully exert her influence.
An Essence 5+ repurchase of this Charm requires Hollow Mind Possession and allows the Infernal to broadcast her will along networks of mortal technology, treating any material intelligence composed of a cluster of network computers (see Shards of the Exalted Dream, p. 183) as being a manse MI for purposes of Charms that require her to be in or controlling a manse MI, or to transmit to them. For example, she could use Noumena-Seizing Assimilation wfrom a terminal of a commandeered computer network to take control of computer-based MIs within range, unleash the Mind Spider Curse from the computer network of an office building, or open channels of communication through a technological MI rather than a possessed manse MI using Broadcast Announcement Prana.

Also, we would talk to them about including us in their prayers, though that might be something to speak to the cult leader about after the speech rather than as part of it.
Almost all Yozi cults are polytheistic, for they were deemed an important resource for the Reclamation. As such they're much more organized than what comes out in canon.

Nice, but I think that, if we are talking about IC Lelouch, that he would word some part differently. Nothing major, but spelling his urge so openly to strangers appear OOC. Do you mind if, when I use your stunt, changed some world here and there?

Also, about the Prayer Roll: the roll is Charisma+Performance at difficulty 7. Even if it is successful, what do you want Oramus' answer to be? A sign or portent may appear, but real aid can only come from a summoned demon since the Yozi are chained inside Malfeas.

Oh, and I am trying to imagine Lelouch's thought process at the prospective of praying - it's just hard, because he's the type to stand on top. Then again, religion has never played a part in canon CG.

May I suggest a slightly edited version?

Speech: "I am Zero, Green Sun Prince and Chosen of..." you dramatically extend your right arm, flaring your cape, "Oramus, The Dragon From Beyond The World!" Several members of the cult gasp in shock at your proclamation, others simply staring with wide eyes and mouths agape. "Yes, great Oramus, he who sees both That Which Is and That Which Is Not, has chosen to aid the Reclamation by declaring me his champion. In his wisdom, Lord Oramus has given me a task of vast importance, which will become evident to all soon enough. The corrupt and oppressive rule of Britannia will suffer for the sins they have committed, and you shall be remembered and greatly rewarded for your steadfast loyalty and work, when the True Rulers of the world return!" You raise your fist, and the crowd cheers. Chants of "Zero!" and "Oramus!" are a constant. You gesture for silence, and they quickly calm themselves, though the fire in their eyes is still present. "For now, I merely ask of you that in the future you include me in your prayers, but right now we must give thanks to my master. Great Oramus does not ask for temples or shrines to be built in his image, for it is his way to only have his one unique temple within great Malfeas. However, he does appreciate prayer, as all his brethern. So, let us pray to him now to give him our thanks, and to ask him to inspire us to greater heights." You kneel, and begin to pray.

Edited out the caste (I doubt they understand much about it, and why would we reveal this information to anyone anyway? Its not in Zero's way to reveal potentialy tacticly relevant information. We dont want people to know we can enforce oaths now, do we? Also edited the specific task. They already worship the Yozis, no need to tell them anything specific before we even reached Malfeas.

I guess we only realy need some sign that the prayer has been recieved, realy, and to get into this whole "praying" thing :)
