Even with all the firepower it may not be enough to kill Lancer, but it is enough to lock him down long enough to deal with the summoner. Like with Shinji, but without the fun of killing Shinji.

Everyone's voting to find Lancer's master but what exactly are we planning to do if, just like in canon, it's Kirei. We're absolutely not in a position to fight Brihannala right now let alone Brihannala, Kirei, Lancer (and in the worst case even Rin and Salter) all at once. The only move I can see working is to land a hit on him with Rule Breaker and sever his connection to Lancer. Brihannala will be fine with Independent Action but Lancer will probably go down after a bit

Maybe we'll get lucky for once and Rin will realize that Eldritch!Cu tearing shit up might threaten the Masquerade, and she'll agree to a temp truce.
Rin already had Salter tear up the city once. Even if she's wavering she's unlikely to change her mind over Lancer doing the same
Yeah, but that was like one explosion. If it heads towards a more densely populated area, people will freak out about the giant blue hellbeast.

This is another concern that I thought of in regards to "kill the master". What're the odds the dog sticks around long enough to do more damage, or worse, gets a new Master?
Groupthink led me to vote for killing the mage, and i did joke about it, but there's no way this is going to go in any way ideal for Shirou.
Well, Erien did say Eldritch!Cu had Battle Continuation - EX, so you're not wrong. But I wonder how much mana he takes to sustain in that form. If he basically inhales it, Battle Continuation won't be too bad because he'll run out of mana too fast to last. I hope.
