Tick, tack, topple and renew…

Fill, fill, fill to the brim, make a wish upon the grail. Is that what all this is about, a pitiful wish? As pathetic a bauble as the Holy Grail. You knew of it, you knew of it well. It was nothing, it was paltry, it was for drinking wine, little else.

The moon laughs and whispers…

But that was why you were called, that was why the humans of this era pleaded for your help. Begged and pleaded to the void, then had the gall to act above those they summoned. That was fine, you could… play along with that. A smile, a caress, a laugh. Put them at ease.

Hydra's venom, twice stirred, thrice killed.

"Are you… sure about this?" the man asks, no. Not a man, a child, perhaps a pitiable one, but a child nevertheless.

You smile, reaching a hand out to brush the boy's hair out of his face. "My dear Kadoc, did you not speak to me of your desire to become a hero? One who would save this world?"

Kadoc takes in a breath, his eyes shifting from me to the door. "Yes but… this is…"

You lean forward before he can speak another word, your lips press against his, the boy stiffening for a moment before he calms. You pull away a few seconds later, a thin line connected your mouth to his, a far off, distant gaze in his eyes.

"You have to trust me Kadoc, I do this for you my love."

Devilry dancing in the blood…

Kadoc blinks, a blush on his face before he pushes forward. "Yeah… Yeah, let's do this." He slips the key into the lock, then turns it. With a creak it swings opening, revealing…

You smile, walking past Kadoc you step into the room, various magical wards setup dispersing with a thought, traps fading into nothingness, alarms fading away before they could begin to call their masters. Behind you Kadoc nervously followed, the boy playing at confidence as best his fragile sense of self would allow.

You ignored it, you ignored the unnatural chill in the air as you placed your hand against a mound of bone. "Hello, Albion."

Double double, toil and trouble…

...Well, Hi Kadoc! I have no idea what are you doing, but I know that it'll be fun!

...For someone!

Now that I think about it, how many Masters are involved in this war so far?

Apparently Morgan The Sister-Fucker decided Kadoc is the new Mordred. Considering part of Mordred's own messed up mind is wondering where Morgan is and why there aren't directives from her, this is a big issue.

I mean, maybe Morgan?

But Kadoc in FGO summons Russian, maybe Baba Yaga?

Or hell:

Maybe Proto-Merlin?

Or:

Maybe it's Penelope, only caring about seeing Odysseus again?

My initial thought was Semiramis, but then I did a second read-through and actually registered that Kadoc doesn't get slashed across the forehead for his very ruffle-able hair. Hopium for Hand-spike-less Semiramis it is, then.
Albion makes things interesting, but I personally don't think it's Morgan.
Looks like it's time to go and revisit the previous threadmarks cuz I've forgotten what went on with Best Girl Ophelia.

*Reading Mashu's wiki page for fun.*

*Discovers the concept for her was a scrapped heroine for FSN by the name of Tachie whose backstory was that died in the Fuyuki fire only to be later resurrected by a necromancer and made into a demi-servant, and resents Shirou specifically for not having saved her.*

Hey guys, I think I know how things could be even more of a clusterfuck.

Why resent Shirou? I thought the one running around trying to save people then was Kiritsugu.

Presumably it was supposed to tie into Shirou's survivor's guilt and make him even more depressed.
Y'know, cause "seigi no mikata's" don't deserve nice things, apparently.

The reasonable explanation is that the two were friends before and were nearby each other when the fire occurred, only she died and he didn't.

You can throw in extra feelings of betrayal for her if Shirou ended up losing his memories of her which would really feed into her 'you didn't save me' narrative.

Because that version of Fate is silly.

*Glances over at the depiction of King Arthur who is a girl and is best known for her bottomless stomach.*

Yes, don't you know? Fate is a very serious franchise.

This is a serious quest for serious people.

"OK, I am a guy who wants to save my old flame and her daughter because I still care about them but mostly think her husband's a piece of shit. I can summon a Knight of the Round Table. My asshole ancestor has a few catalysts for that, and a knight would sympathize with my wish. So the bugman insists on a Berserker, but I can still point him in the right directi- Why is the summon circle playing spanish guitar?"

"Same reason the F-15J is canonically the most advanced fighter jet in the world in 1994."

"WHY GRANDFATHER?"

"Lol, I dunno, Gen's butthurt the US wouldn't sell the F-22 to Japan?"

"I don't know why a fighter pilot has an MP5 and M82 in his jet, but I'mma take these when I head back to the throne, kay? Er, I mean AAAAAARTHUUUUUR!"

An Ace Combat crossover doesn't work here. It's too hopeful.

You're supposed to go with Project Wingman. Now there's a series that knows all about pyrrhic victories that leave cities in flames.

Rin has not, and likely won't, summon the Razgriz.
To be fair, knowing Rin's track record she'd summon a red guy with an independent streak so broad he'll actively ignore her orders to commit mass genocide just to try and kill one person.

"Artoria Pendragon. You use the name of a king, but what do you rule over, the dead?! The Round Table fought for peace in Europe and you denied them that! What do you have to show for yourself Saber? Blood of your kingdom? Gold of the faries? A throne broken by your corruption? I will bury your name so completely, the earth will turn over a thousand times before your sword is dug up."

"Fuyuki City is my home! And here we are, fighting for humanity's soul. That's the deal you and Alaya made, right? What happens when you cut me down?! Think ahead for once! You know what you will return to! You know where you will go! We both know how this ends! So kill me, kill me and see what happens to this world!"

She's not summoning the man who makes Belkans look calm either.
